Mum received exceptional care at The Meadows in Abbey Park Nursing Home. The warmth and respect shown by all staff carers, kitchen team, laundry staff, housekeeper and maintenance to the residents and their families are heartwarming. I was always confident that mum was receiving skilled and caring support from the staff with the specialist skills needed to work efficiently with people living with dementia.

Staff on the Avon unit at Abbey Park Nursing Home look after my Mum very well. She is totally dependant on them for everything. Since being on Avon unit my Mum has gained a little weight as she is being well looked after and fed nourishing meals. The staff on Avon unit have welcomed me and my family and are always ready to listen to any concerns we may have about Mum. The staff have taken the time to understand my Mum as she cannot communicate verbally, they recognise if Mum is agitated or content. Having my Mum in a nursing home is devastating for me but I am happy that she is in Abbey Park and wouldn't want her to move anywhere else.

My mother suffered from dementia and severe arthritis amongst other things. This made her confused at best on occasions and unable to get about without assistance. She transferred into Abbey Park Nursing Home in November 2016 and was there until her passing in January 2017. During this time, she was treated with respect, care and understanding by all of the carers that I came into contact with (I was there nearly every day). When she stopped eating, either forgetting to or refusing to, she was treated with dignity and care in her final days. I shall be forever grateful for this.

I can not thank the care staff at Abbey Park Nursing Home especially on Avon. The care, love and support my mother was shown was outstanding. My mother died on the 15th February 2017 with her family around her. I could not of coped without the support I was given then and even now. The staff on Avon were just fantastic. I would like you to thank them and if I could do anything in return to thank them please let me know.

Myself and my family recently lost my nan on the 15th of February 2017. I can not thank the girls and the nurses who loved, cared and supported my nan enough during her time in Avon at Abbey Park. They gave my nan the best care and right up to her last breath they maintained her well-being and dignity. They also supported us as a family during this very hard time and continue to do so. These ladies are amazing and I take my hat off to them for the great work they do in caring for our very special loved ones especially my nan.

You lot are our sunshine!

I managed to secure a place at The Meadows, Abbey Park at the end of 2015, for my father. Dad had many health problems and he had been struggling for some time with his conditions and mobility. He moved from an assisted living flat and became a resident of Abbey Park. I was thrilled with all the staff, his great room, the overall cleanliness, tasty food and whole ambience at 'The Meadows'. It always felt welcoming and calming on entering the building and all the staff were friendly, compassionate and very patient. Dad wasn't always an easy person, as the Alzheimer's had brought with it depression and OCD, but he did show his softer, friendlier side to staff, too. I never felt worried about leaving dad there as I knew that he was going to be looked after. When dad passed away, the staff were supportive and compassionate and I thank them all for making dad's final days as comfortable as possible. Bless you, all!

My husband lived at Abbey Park, after a stroke he was here for nearly 12 years. When I became ill myself I refused any other care home offer, the only place I would accept was Abbey Park. I am so lucky to live here.

My husband has been here nearly five years. My husband is treated with dignity and care. He is tended by the carers several times a day and is always well kept (even if he won't allow them to shave him) His room and facilities are always clean. Nurses and carers are friendly and also care about us as a family. I also find other members of staff from housekeeping/kitchen etc are extremely friendly and helpful. I can go home and not worry about him.

My mother was only in Abbey Park Nursing Home for a very short period of time but during that time, the care was excellent. My mother received palliative care and passed away at the home. During that time she was treated with respect and dignity. As a family, we felt we were very well supported and constantly updated with her treatment and progression towards the end of her life. We were supported afterwards and the staff were very helpful with questions we asked them.

My mother needed to be moved into nursing care immediately upon the sudden death of my father, and we were very lucky to find a room available here. My mother was moved in quickly and easily (although the lift is not big enough to accommodate a stretcher - therefore a ground floor room had to be allocated). This was a traumatic time for all of us, especially my mother, who was distressed and disorientated. However, the staff were kind and patient, and always on hand. I especially commend the Chaplain, who took an invaluable personal interest in my mother's welfare - we don't live locally, so it was a comfort to know that my mother was being so well cared for. My mother was bed-ridden and immobile, which restricted the benefit she could have got from her short residency before her death - there is a spacious lounge and a lovely enclosed garden with chickens! Having to move into nursing care is never easy, but in Abbey Park Nursing Home, I feel we had found the very best available in Coventry.

From the minute Mum arrived at Abbey Park Nursing Home, nothing was too much trouble for any of the Staff. Everyone cared, had compassion and importantly humour. We appreciated the Staff always knocking on Mum's door, a small gesture but showing respect.

We as a family always felt comfortable there, and always felt like we could talk to the staff if we were concerned about anything. We cannot praise Abbey Park Nursing Home highly enough.

My Dad lived at Abbey Park for almost 2 years until he passed away at the beginning of August. He hated needing nursing care and could be a challenge, especially as he had serious communication difficulties too but always received the best possible care while at Abbey Park. All the staff are exceptional and clearly, care about as well as for the residents. The carers and nurses looking after my Dad became people we as a family knew and could absolutely rely on. They knew him well personally and would always go the extra mile despite his sometimes grumpy manner. In our opinion, the staff at Abbey Park display real love and compassion as well as professionalism. During his final illness, the staff were kindness itself to us as a family as well as my Dad and it made a huge difference to all of us.

My Mum was privileged to spend the last 6 months for her life at Abbey Park. Moving from her own home to residential care was a huge move and we were all apprehensive. The staff at Abbey Park made the transition as easy as possible.

Words cannot describe how amazing the carers were. Their concern, kindness, consideration and absolute professionalism ensured that my Mum felt safe and valued. There are many activities that residents can partake in, my Mum enjoyed them. The staff work as a real team with everyone including the cleaners, caterers etc totally focused on caring for the residents in a tender and respectful manner.

When my Mum declined and was at the end of her life the way that the staff cared for her and supported the whole family emotionally was remarkable. This ensured that she was able to die at the home surrounded by family and love. We owe a huge debt to MHA and their wonderful staff. I can't see how you could find anywhere better.

When my Mum arrived at Abbey Park, just two months ago. I would not have believed that such a dramatic change in her health and well being was possible. After 3 years in another home in Coventry, I had almost given up hope that she would ever be happy again. I had slowly watched my lovely, happy, lively and good humoured Mum disappear. She was often tearful and nearly always sad, and I almost dreaded going to visit her.

What a joy it is to see her now! The staff could not have been more supportive during the period it took her to settle in to her new surroundings, and what wonderful surroundings they are. The whole place is so clean and cheerful, and her room is a pleasure to be in. Her health has improved, and she is eating much better, which is hardly surprising, as the food is so good. The activities are varied and really involve the residents.

As always, it is the staff that make anywhere special. The manager has to be commended on the quality of her staff. The atmosphere that they have all collectively created here, is so warm and comforting. The moment you walk in, you are welcomed by smiling faces and a sense of joy. The staff here are so caring and show genuine love for those in their care. For the first time in years, I can relax knowing that my Mum is truly being looked after, both physically and emotionally.

I owe you all a big thank you for returning my Mum to me. Words cannot relay how much it means to me to see her smiling and happy.

Abbey Park has been such a breath of fresh air after having an awful experience in another residential care home in Coventry. My Nan has been a resident for just over a month now in the new residential suites and has settled in so well. It gives me great comfort to know that she is happy. I can't thank all the staff from domestics, admin, maintenance, kitchen, activities, management, Chaplain, carers and nurses enough for all the time, care, dignity, support and love that they have shown not only to my Nan but her family too. Everyone has gone above and beyond to make such a stressful move so easy and welcoming. Its such a relief to know that she is supported with all her needs not only physical but emotional too. Abbey Park has such a friendly, warm, clean and homely atmosphere from the moment you walk through the door. I would highly recommend Abbey Park.
