All carers are excellent and keep my husband very clean. They attend to all his medical needs and always very kind to me by making me tea and cake.

My Dad lived at Abbey Park for almost 2 years until he passed away at the beginning of August. He hated needing nursing care and could be a challenge, especially as he had serious communication difficulties too but always received the best possible care while at Abbey Park. All the staff are exceptional
and clearly, care about as well as for the residents. The carers and nurses looking after my Dad became people we as a family knew and could absolutely rely on. They knew him well personally and would always go the extra mile despite his sometimes grumpy manner. In our opinion, the staff at Abbey Park display real love and compassion as well as professionalism. During his final illness, the staff were kindness itself to us as a family as well as my Dad and it made a huge difference to all of us.

The staff are caring and professional. The home is spotless. The food is excellent. Atmosphere calm and inviting. The staff are friendly and go over and above board to help you. The activities are very good.

My Mum was privileged to spend the last 6 months for her life at Abbey Park. Moving from her own home to residential care was a huge move and we were all apprehensive. The staff at Abbey Park made the transition as easy as possible.
Words cannot describe how amazing the carers were. Their concern,
kindness, consideration and absolute professionalism ensured that my Mum felt safe and valued. There are many activities that residents can partake in, my Mum enjoyed them. The staff work as a real team with everyone including the cleaners, caterers etc totally focused on caring for the residents in a tender and respectful manner.


When my Mum declined and was at the end of her life the way that the staff cared for her and supported the whole family emotionally was remarkable. This ensured that she was able to die at the home surrounded by family and love. We owe a huge debt to MHA and their wonderful staff. I can't see how you could find anywhere better.

When my Mum arrived at Abbey Park, just two months ago. I would not have believed that such a dramatic change in her health and well being was possible. After 3 years in another home in Coventry, I had almost given up hope that she would ever be happy again. I had slowly watched my lovely, happy, lively
and good humoured Mum disappear. She was often tearful and nearly always sad, and I almost dreaded going to visit her.


What a joy it is to see her now! The staff could not have been more supportive during the period it took her to settle in to her new surroundings, and what wonderful surroundings they are. The whole place is so clean and cheerful, and her room is a pleasure to be in. Her health has improved, and she is eating much better, which is hardly surprising, as the food is so good. The activities are varied and really involve the residents.


As always, it is the staff that make anywhere special. The manager has to be commended on the quality of her staff. The atmosphere that they have all collectively created here, is so warm and comforting. The moment you walk in, you are welcomed by smiling faces and a sense of joy. The staff here are so caring and show genuine love for those in their care. For the first time in years, I can relax knowing that my Mum is truly being looked after, both physically and emotionally.
I owe you all a big thank you for returning my Mum to me. Words cannot relay how much it means to me to see her smiling and happy.

Abbey Park has been such a breath of fresh air after having an awful experience in another residential care home in Coventry. My Nan has been a resident for just over a month now in the new residential suites and has settled in so well. It gives me great comfort to know that she is happy. I can't thank
all the staff from domestics, admin, maintenance, kitchen, activities, management, Chaplain, carers and nurses enough for all the time, care, dignity, support and love that they have shown not only to my Nan but her family too. Everyone has gone above and beyond to make such a stressful move so easy and welcoming. Its such a relief to know that she is supported with all her needs not only physical but emotional too. Abbey Park has such a friendly, warm, clean and homely atmosphere from the moment you walk through the door. I would highly recommend Abbey Park.

My dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer and went into Abbey Park on 9th August 2011. We thought it would be a sad place, but it was warm and homely. Dad used to like looking out of the window at the chickens and rabbits and he looked forward to the tasty meals. Staff were always jovial and they became
friends of my mum and dad. The carers would often bring a tasty treat for mum to eat too. The care dad received was excellent as the nursing staff were always one step ahead of the pain. Most importantly as a family we were able to stay with dad all day and night until dad died. Thank you to everyone at Abbey park.

Tina Thompson

Job Title: Care Home Manager Joined: 2003

Tina Thompson is the dedicated care home Manager at MHA Abbey Park, bringing over two decades of experience to her role. She qualified as a nurse in 2000 and has worked with MHA for 22 years, progressing from a nurse to deputy manager, and now proudly leading the home as manager for the past 16 years.


Tina is passionate about delivering exceptional care and fostering a warm, supportive environment for both residents and staff. Her leadership is deeply rooted in a person-centred approach, where the emotional well-being of each individual is just as important as their physical care.
