My mom stayed at Hollycroft for rehabilitation after having a stroke. The care she received was excellent. The carers, nurses and therapists were so kind and caring that she has managed to come back home. We cannot thank everyone enough for their care and kindness. Would recommend Hollycroft Nursing
Home.

Mom was looked after amazingly, the day and night staff was amazing and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The food was great, lots of tea and coffee. Thank you to the nurses and again big thanks to the carers, love especially two carers in particular.

My aunt had a small stay with you while she was recovering. She had never been married, got no children and I looked after her. She loved it in Holycroft. Sadly she passed away in hospital on April 1st. I want to thank you all for caring and making her stay so welcoming.

My mother-in-law passed away in June 2019 at this Care Home having spent two weeks there in step down care. Unfortunately, with a late diagnosis of Parkinson’s she was very poorly and recovery would have been miraculous. My husband and I cannot praise the staff here enough for the care, love and support
they have given Mom and our family during this very difficult and sad time. The professionalism and commitment of all the staff is totally outstanding. They truly care and took the time to get to know the essence of Mom, even in the short time she was there. We felt totally reassured that Mom was in safe and loving hands, which was a great comfort and reassurance to us. It has also helped us come to terms with her death, knowing that she was cared for with such dignity, kindness and compassion right to the end.
If you are considering this Care Home for a loved we can only say that we can recommend it without hesitation.

My father was admitted to Hollycroft after a full hip replacement due to a fall just before Christmas. Yes, of course, I was worried and concerned about leaving him there. Who wants to leave a relative who’s always been fit and healthy and completely independent even at 90 years of age in somewhere
they don’t know and with staff they don’t know.
HOWEVER, we didn’t need to be concerned at all. The care was exceptional and all the staff including the OT’s and physiotherapists who work there were amazing. The food was lovely as well. Yes, when you walk in you do notice that it could do with a lick of paint but it is not a hotel and I would rather be in there than a brand new home with staff that do not come up to the very high standards here.
Thank you all. 10/10 and 5* treatment.

My Father was accepted by Hollycroft from Hospital on a Step-Down programme. Unfortunately, his condition, which was terminal beforehand, deteriorated and he was unable to recover from his illness. I have to say however that the care provided by the staff at Hollycroft was of the highest standard possible,
exceeding my expectations at every stage of this most difficult time. Having no prior experience of this situation they provided guidance, support and the absolute best care possible to my father during his final weeks. I have nothing but admiration for the way the care was provided, how they communicated with our family and the flexibility shown when our requests fell outside normal parameters. This is an establishment which deserves the ultimate praise; simply caring sensitively with people who deserve to be cared for sensitively. I would recommend this home to anyone considering it for their loved ones, and without any hesitation.

I found all staff at Holly Croft most welcoming, compassionate and caring during my 2-week stay.
Returning home after 4 weeks away (with 2 weeks in hospital), to a downstairs room (used to be garage), shower tray, adapted toilet (disabled seat), orthopaedic single bed (rise and fall), living room reclining
settee (2 seater), walking stick, car changed to disability for easy access, walk short distances with metal stick.
No carers. All my needs are being supplied by my family.

My wife spent 7 weeks in Hollycroft recovering from an acute medical condition. She has made a complete recovery due to the excellent standard of nursing care. The leadership shown by management and registered nurses is worthy of a mention. They always had time to listen to me and looked after my wife
really well. The carers were always cheerful and would chat to my wife. Everybody works hard to see that residents are in a happy and safe environment. Hollycroft is a top quality nursing home.

Current Review Score: 8.4 (8.352)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.4 (8.352) out of 10 for Hollycroft Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.4 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.957 for Hollycroft Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (22 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 23 Ratings = 4.957
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.395 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hollycroft Nursing Home is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 37 registered maximum number of service users is 7.4. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 7.4 = 0.27
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
