After viewing quite a few care homes as soon as I walked into Ash Lodge Care Home with Nursing it felt like the right place for my dad. My dad spent the last 6 weeks of his life in Ash Lodge and couldn’t have received better care.

From the warm welcome to the medical care, we find it hard to fault. We are kept informed by phone if necessary to her needs. Able to visit at any time, instils confidence in us to the daily runnings of the home. More important is that she is happy and settled. We have been visiting for two years and

I, like most people never wanted to reach a situation where a relation I loved and cared for had to be moved into a care home facility but unfortunately in 2022 that time came. I’ll never forget the reassurances those at Ash Lodge provided me whilst an end-of-life care package was set up, alongside
the care and attention they showed my relation whilst in their physical care. Although the time there was brief, my relation was content and well cared for in facilities that were clean and well-maintained. Carers greeted me by name and acknowledged me as their main contact I had a clear knowledge of their conditions and took any comments made on board and were contactable 24/7. I will be forever grateful to those who helped make my aunt's last weeks, days and hours as comfortable and as dignified as possible and I truly believe they cared for them as if they were one of their own.

I chose Ash Lodge Care Home because it was near to my father's home. May I say how good the staff were in helping my father what turned out to be his last few years. Professional and caring on a personal level. Unfortunately, when he passed away at ninety-one and we had the funeral the hearse stopped
outside Ash Lodge and as a mark of respect, the staff were all outside in a line which moved both me and my husband to tears. I wish them the best for the future.

Our lovely mom has been in Ash Lodge Care Home for the last 12 weeks for rehab for her fractured shoulder. We have never had to worry about mom, as the staff are so caring and nothing is too much trouble. Even when passing mom's room they always stop and make conversation. Such a wonderful little place.
Our mom's coming home soon, so we as a family would like to say a very big thank you to the manager and all her staff for looking after our mom. Keep up the excellent work.

I know my wife is in the best possible place for her care needs, being looked after by the most caring of staff. My wife hasn't got a clue what is going on about her due to dementia but I am confident that all of her care needs are met and staff still treat her with dignity and respect. Thank you.

We have found the care at this home excellent. The staff have always been very helpful, especially during such a difficult time with the pandemic.
My mum has received care and attention throughout her time there.
She hasn't experienced any activities etc. as she has been bedbound. However, the staff
have been in her room to spend time with her in other ways which I appreciate.

Since being in Ash Lodge, my mother has thrived. The staff have good interaction with the residents and encourages them in areas where needed. (Example, earing, taking medication). I have always found the staff to be polite and willing to help with any queries I may have. The level of care is very high,
and I enjoy visiting the home. I would certainly recommend Ash Lodge to anyone who needed to go into care.

My mother was transferred to this care home in late August and sadly passed away on 02/09/21. Her stay was short but during that time she and myself and my daughter were treated with respect and care for the three of us. Nothing was too much trouble. We were kept informed all through Mom's stay. I know
she would have been happy if her stay wasn't cut short. The staff gave my mother the dignity she deserved when she passed and we cannot thank them enough for the kindness and care they gave us.

As a family, the last thing we wanted was to have to have mom put into care, however being lucky enough to have found mom a place at Ash Lodge has removed all the pressure and guilt of not being able to care for her in her own home with dad. The quality of care and service coupled with amazing staff
at all levels means that we know mom is safe, well cared for, and wants for nothing, most importantly giving my dad peace of mind. Thank you.

Mom was only at Ash Lodge a short time before sadly passing away, but in that time she was really well looked after. She seemed happy and was very comfortable. The staff were so caring and kind, nothing seemed too much trouble for them. I just wished we had gotten mom into here much sooner. If you are

Our friend is a resident at Ash Lodge and has been there for several months. She is very happy there and speaks highly of the staff and the care they provide. I visit my sister-in-law on a regular basis (usually once every week). As a result of this, many of the staff know me and greet me by name. I have found the staff without exception to be pleasant, helpful, and patient, also very professional.

Most staff are very friendly and caring. My friend receives good care and is happy. She has been in a few homes and thinks this is the best. The staff regularly check in with her to check she is ok. During covid, it was an extremely difficult time for all. My mum settled in well, we were kept up to date with all the regulations. Staff set up an ipad on which we could see and talk to mum. The Nursing home is very friendly and helpful. We as a family would recommend this care provider to friends
and family as they are very aware of every resident's circumstances.

The treatment she received medically to the treatment she received from each and every member of staff, has been exceptionally

Free Wi-fi is provided throughout the Home. We encourage our residents to bring along their personal items in order to make their rooms feel more homely. Our Activities team organises small group and one-to-one activities, outside entertainment and events all tailored to the residents’ backgrounds and interests. From art classes to gardening, from light exercise to music therapy, each day is an opportunity for new experiences and cherished memories.

Job Title: Manager

Helen started her career in care over 40 years ago when she joined her mom in delivering home help to the local community before moving on to caring for the elderly in residential care homes.
Helen worked night shifts for many years whilst raising her own family. During this time Helen gained her qualifications which enabled her to obtain a position of deputy Care manager, Helen always wanted to make a difference in care and remained determined to gain the qualification to become care home manager. Helen has manged residential and nursing homes for the last 23 years. Helen has worked in care all of her working life and remains as passionate about care now as she did when she started her career.

Wanting to make more of a difference to his residents lives he blossomed into a senior care assistant then went onto qualify as a registered nurse in 2014. Having passion in palliative care he then joined Birmingham hospice in Selly oak and achieved a bachelors degree in adult cancer care giving him the title of a palliative Nurse specialist. Whilst he loved the hospice setting he missed the homely ambiance of a nursing home.
In August 2017 he joined Ash Lodge as palliative care lead, it was then that he was able to put his knowledge into practice. David is now Deputy nurse manager at Ash Lodge and enjoys the challenges and rewards that come with it.
