Dovedale Court Care Home, located just outside the lovely market town of Wednesbury in the West Midlands, offers personalised nursing and residential dementia care in a friendly and welcoming setting.

A real home-from-home, Dovedale Court boasts a plethora of spots where residents can relax and socialise. Recently refurbished, residents also benefit from specially designed furnishings which maximise comfort and ensure residents feel at home. The courtyard garden is a tranquil spot in which to spend time and to catch up with friends and family, and the on-site salon offers the perfect space to enjoy a little TLC.

The dedicated and professional care team at Dovedale Court take the time to learn about each resident’s hobbies and interests. I cannot thank the care home enough for the quality of life they have given my mother; she is having a whale of a time, every time I ring up, it sounds like there’s a party going on.


The staff are absolutely amazing; I’ve never known such an enthusiastic, positive, friendly bunch of people.


During

this year, it will be an honour to drive up from Glastonbury and finally meet you all over a cup of tea and a biscuit, in fact, I’ll bring the cream tea up from the west country with me; we can celebrate in style.


Keep it up, you guys rock - you really do, all my love to you all.

Since Mom has been a resident at Dovedale, she has been treated extremely well, she is cared for and the staff have a personal touch. They are always helpful and she is treated with respect and friendliness. Excellent care.

Having lived at Dovedale for over two years my aunt is now coming to a stage where she requires end-of-life care. Even with the problems of covid, the level of care has not fallen and communication with myself remains regular. A visit by myself was facilitated which was a comfort for both my aunt and
myself and was conducted by staff safely and professionally. Thank you.

I believe that the team at Dovedale have dealt with Coronavirus in the resident's best interest. From the beginning of the first lockdown, I am very assured that the home is Coronavirus safe. Dovedale home is doing the best they possibly can to keep the building COVID friendly. Although my mom has lost
the ability to speak, the home set up video call as soon as we went into lockdown and this assured me that my mom was in safe hands. If a friend or family member was to ask me about Dovedale, I would give them a very good recommendation. When looking for a Nursing home for my mom, I visited all the homes in the local area (Wednesbury) and I can assure you that Dovedale is the best one. The home is very hygienic as they have a cleaning team which cleans the home and this ensures that the home is kept clean and tidy for the residents. They also have staff that work in the laundry which is very good, as most homes in the area request family to do the washing. The residents are kept entertained by the Wellbeing Coordinators who work closely with the residents to ensure that they are happy. They do their best to get to know the residents' past so they can adapt the activities to their hobbies. Since my mom has been at Dovedale, I have seen a large range of activities from bingo to nail painting. Downstairs, there is a bar area which gives some quality time for the elderly, who used to like the pub. The food the residents are given is always spectacular they are very dedicated to meeting the residents' eating requirements.

My 96-year-old father was admitted to Dovedale Court mid-afternoon on 8th January this year having been transferred from hospital where he had been waiting for a nursing home bed. At 7.26 pm that same evening, I was contacted and told that he had taken a turn for the worse and to come quickly. He passed
away at 9 pm that same night. I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I am to the staff there for endless love care and help they gave me at a truly difficult time. They had never met me or dad until that very day but I cannot imagine where else he would have had such remarkable care. A member of staff even waited with me and my family in the car park for the funeral director to arrive, after she had finished for the day at 5 pm and had come back in. It was 11.30 pm before we all left. Thank you so very much. Believe me, your relatives could not be in better hands. Thanks for all the cups of tea.

My mom has dementia and has been a resident at Dovedale for almost 5-years now. The home was recommended to me, and I have never once regretted my choice of a care provider. Dovedale is mom's home, and she is very happy there. I cannot praise the staff enough for everything they do for her. They treat
her as an individual, and she is very well cared for. She is always clean and comfortable, and her continuing level of health is totally due to the care she receives there. The staff are amazing people and go above and beyond to make sure residents are safe and well. I have so much peace of mind now not worrying about her like I used to. Covid has been extremely difficult for care homes to cope with, but I've been kept informed every step of the way. When a member of staff calls me to talk about mom, its like chatting to another family member; they know her little ways, and we will always have a laugh. I can tell they have a lot of affection for her, and that means so much. Very grateful.

Fabulous staff very welcoming and made my father in law and our family feel at ease when leaving him there as this was the first time and a difficult decision for everyone. I take shopping to my friend who has been a resident for some time and due to Covid we are unable to visit but thanks to the staff and management I still take whatever my friend needs and drop it off at the front door and the staff make sure she receives it. At this home you cannot fault any of the
staff, they are friendly, very caring and always have a smile on their faces from management offices down to the kitchen and domestic staff.

I have visited a few times and was allowed a short supervised visit in the gardens which helped my friend tremendously. My wife visits more than myself but I have found especially this year how everybody has worked tirelessly to keep our friend and all the residents safe, on a normal year, the staff
are brilliant but this year, exceptionally brilliant. The best care home around.

My mother-in-law has been a resident of Dovedale Court since the beginning of March. It took some time for her to settle in, but all of the staff were very helpful, caring and willing to listen to our questions and concerns. We were allowed to visit at whatever times we asked within reason, and although
she was a bit confused at times, she is looked after extremely well, all of the staff are friendly and caring and will go the extra mile to help the families and residents.
After only a few weeks in residence, the Coronavirus happened, and we were not able to visit. On telephoning the home we were told how she was coping, after a while we were able to see her through the window or in the garden weather permitting. The staff are great; they are caring and thoughtful and have a sense of humour. We feel confident in their ability to care for my mother-in-law. When we speak to her she is happy and contented.

This home has been fantastic with my relative throughout lockdown, we haven't been able to visit for months but are getting regular updates and photos sent to us. We as a family are so grateful to all the staff who have gone above and beyond to ensure the residents are cared for and show love and compassion
to them when us family relatives are unable to visit. Couldn't be happier thank you Dovedale Court, you are all amazing.

The staff at Dovedale Court are giving their all during the Coronavirus. The residents are cared for and I thank them for all the hard work they have done. They make visitors welcome. It was a pleasure to visit my husband every day before the virus. They are the most fantastic staff you could wish for.

My mum moved in a year ago. Seems to be getting a lot better. Events organisers take mum on a shopping trip to the local town. Fed well, could be more choice provided, especially considering ethnic needs. The manager listens to concerns and responds well. Mum seems to have settled well.

My mom came to this home after my dad passed away, last Sept 2018. She did end up upstairs in nursing care, she had dementia but sadly passed away last week 16th July but the care to the end was fantastic and would highly recommend this home. She passed away in the home and so glad she didn’t go to
the hospital. Staff so thoughtful and kept her dignity until the end.

Our lovely mother and wife spent 6 weeks in the care of Dovedale Court. All staff treated her with care and dignity. We are thankful for the call during the night that allowed us to all be there for her passing and staff were brilliant.

I am very happy and content with the care provided for my wife at Dovedale Court.
She is always clean, tidy, comfortable and is continually monitored.
The food provided is varied and to a very satisfactory standard and is delivered to each individual patient to suit their ability to eat it.
The home
is always clean, tidy and fresh. A very good wellbeing team provide enjoyable and numerous entertaining activities. When I leave the home I am happy and content in the knowledge that my wife is safe and well cared for.

After moving my father from another care home, which since being taken over, all services and care have fallen, I was worried about making a good choice in finding a new home but after eleven visits to various homes, I found this one which is described in one word "Fabulous". Everything is 5 star, care,
food, entertainment, activities, I have a new dad so alert, conversations, back to being my dad and in dad's own words, "If you had brought me where first I would never have left the place" he loves it so do all the family.

As a dedicated healthcare professional, Dawn has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Dawn closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Dovedale Court.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Dawn remarked:


“I really enjoy being part of such a fantastic team. It means so much to me to work together to ensure our Residents are happy.”


Outside of work, Dawn is very family orientated, as she enjoys spending quality time with her children.
