Mom moved to Waterside in November following a hospital discharge. From day one, home staff were very friendly and professional. Level of care and support very good and Mom is settled and comfortable. Home staff very helpful with ongoing assessments.
My mom has been in Waterside for about a year. She has settled in really well. I can't fault the care home. Everything Waterside offers is top quality. My mom gets on really well with all members of staff and if any concerns, they are sorted out right away. It gives me peace of mind that she is well looked after.
Waterside Care Home is a very caring place. The carers are kind and considerate. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and relatives are able to interact with their family members in private if needed or are welcome to stay in the main lounges. Food is of a very high standard and my dad seems settled and content.
My husband has been in here for nearly three weeks and we cannot complain about anything at all, lovely staff and management.
I can’t praise and recommend this nursing home highly enough. Unfortunately, my mom’s stay was a brief one (just over 2 days) but absolutely everyone I met treated us with the utmost care and respect. I stayed overnight to sit with my mom and I lost count of the number of times the nurse and care staff popped in to check on us both. Also, I was provided with a refreshment trolley consisting of sandwiches, biscuits, crisps, tea, coffee and 3 types of fruit juice, I was even offered hot meals. Everyone went above and beyond to make my mom’s final hours as comfortable and stress-free as humanly possible, and for that, I will be eternally grateful. I’d like to thank all the staff at Waterside Nursing Home from the bottom of my heart.
Our mum was transferred to Waterside Care Home from hospital for 5 weeks and unfortunately, it was not a pleasant experience for her or ourselves. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were adequate and the food was excellent. A tick box record is kept of personal hygiene routines and although always ticked it was evident that had not been carried out and this was then done by a family member once requested. Normal toileting times were approximately 30 minutes - 60 minutes but very often in excess of this causing mum to become agitated and distressed and resulting in various medical issues which is unacceptable. We witnessed instances of toilet records being falsified which was reported to management at the time. Some members of staff were very caring although unfortunately this could not be said for all. We felt the home was understaffed to fulfil residents' requirements. For these issues, we would not recommend Waterside although we recognise there were some very caring understanding members of staff who were in the job for the right reasons.
Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. At HC-One, we strive to deliver kind care every day to our residents and their families. We are sorry you feel the level of care provided during your Mother’s stay was not to the expected...
Since Mom moved into Waterside Care Home in March. I have been, overall very impressed with the care provided. The large majority of the staff display high professional care. The patience they show is unbelievable and in most cases carry out their work with a smile. They keep me informed of my Mom's health and are happy to answer any questions.
Very friendly, caring staff. I feel Mom is receiving the care she needs in a safe and welcome environment. Visitors are equally made to feel welcome. Would prefer to have a member of staff present in the lounge at all times but appreciate this may not always be possible due to care needs of residents.

My mother came to Waterside Care Home straight from hospital. She was poorly, lifeless and sleeping most of the time. She now participates in activities and spends time in the lounge with other residents. The staff have been lovely. It is comforting to know that she is safe, well cared for and doing much better than she was.
This is my first experience of a care home. I didn't really know what to expect, but have found Waterside Care Home excellent. Staff are brilliant; so caring and thoughtful to all residents. Staff work very hard but remain pleasant and professional with warmth and care in all their actions. The activities are fantastic, there's always something to look forward to.
Warm, friendly and inviting home that always makes me welcome when visiting my husband. There is a good variety of meals and the staff will always get you a sandwich or something else if there's nothing you like or fancy. The staff treat residents with care and compassion. There are daily activities and some wonderful outside entertainers that come into the enjoyment of the residents. The only negative at present is the lack of care staff on some days, where with the best will in the world, two staff members can't look after all the residents as they'd like to. Overall one of the better care homes around.
Thank you for your kind review. At HC-One, we strive to deliver kind care every day to our residents and their families and it’s pleasing to see you have experienced this on your visits. I would like to reassure you that we do recognise that there may be busy periods of the day and we adhere to our...
Always a warm welcome from reception and in general staff go about their duties with care and are known by the residents who also warm to them. Meetings around care and food provided are well intended but not always delivered well. There could be a lot more staff could do to encourage residents to have their nails and hair cut etc. The manager is very approachable and, you can see, has big plans to improve the staff environment and activities for the residents. It is because of this that I would recommend the home.
Thank you for your review. At HC-One, we strive to deliver kind care every day to our residents and their families. I appreciate your feedback around what we can do better and we endeavour to work on these areas. I assure you that every feedback we receive is incredibly important to us, as this helps us to make improvements.
a friendly care home where teh staff treat the residents as human beings. I'm always made to feel welcome when visiting my husband.
Waterside is a lovely place for your loved one. The care is second to none. The staff (all) are professional and friendly. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them. The outlook over the canal is very nice and south facing so the sun shines in making it warm and inviting. Lovely.
Mum seems to be happy here and is well looked after. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and appear to genuinely care for the residents.
My cousin has been here for three months. He has displayed a vast improvement in appearance and attitude.
The staff are very attentive and thorough. A friendly and homely environment for my mum to be taken care of in. We're very happy she is here with such great professionals looking after her.
The staff are very friendly, polite and professional! Needs are met and nothing is too much trouble. Medical issues are well documented and catered for, including off-site appointments. Safety and cleanliness are important and it shows!
His room is nice.
I thank everyone personally.
