The Priory understands the importance of creating a relaxing environment for its residents. The home welcomes those who require residential, nursing, palliative, convalescence and respite care and creates a unique care plan for each resident upon arrival.

Situated in the pleasant area of Monkspath, the home has been specifically designed to meet the needs of older people. The Priory is surrounded by large enclosed gardens and benefits from a close location to local amenities and bus routes, while a GP surgery is just a short distance away. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities, a flat-screen TV and a 24-hour call system.

Nutritionally balanced meals are prepared using fresh ingredients and a wide range of dishes are available to choose from. Residents' birthdays are celebrated as are all traditional holidays ranging from Pancake Day to Christmas.

A dedicated activities room allows residents to pursue their own hobbies and share interests and a mobile library visits regularly.

My wife and I are extremely satisfied and delighted by the level of care and support offed by The Priory. The staff are wonderful and very caring and attentive. The food provided is excellent and very good choices.

My mother's care at The Priory was impeccable. From the time we arrived to be shown around through to the time of her death on 6th June. Staff- nurses and carers befriended mum, were kind, caring and very professional. She has some episodes of becoming very unwell and these difficult situations were
managed very well. The liaison with the GP and Macmillian team was excellent in ensuring mum had the best possible care considering she has cancer, diabetes and needed pain management, as well as other symptoms. Mum and the family here always informed about her plan of care involved us always. The home was v.clean, comfortable and dietary and food intake monitored daily. The manager always visible and involved, activities good.

All the staff were very caring, thoughtful and considerate. Always ready to answer any questions. Caring and nursing standards were very high as were the hygiene and cleanliness. Good activities programme. Overall experience excellent. Would certainly recommend this care home.

My mother was at 'The Priory Care Home, Solihull' for 5+ years. During that time, she was extremely well cared for and was treated with respect by the staff. They were friendly and attentive at all times. We could come and go at any time and she was always well dressed and cared for. I have absolutely

I chose The Priory because of it's care rating and homely feel. My mother has always been very independent and this was her first time in respite care. She felt at home immediately and every time I rang she said all the staff without exception were wonderful and life was much easier there than at home.
I had to be away for three weeks for medical reasons and was so relieved that she was so well cared for. Excellent many thanks.

My father spent his last few months being cared for at The Priory Care Home in Shirley. The staff where so attentive and really looked after him. We were honoured to have met such wonderful staff. Dad sadly passed away here on 11/4/16.

My brother-in-law and his wife were given two rooms side by side, he was recovering from a stroke. His wife had dementia, both were well cared for. The staff were very caring and realised that my brother-in-law wanted to spend as much time as possible with his wife in the days before she died. The rooms
were well appointed and contained everything that was needed. A special bed was provided for his wife. My brother-in-law enjoyed his food and the staff did their best to feed her. I don't think anything more could have been done for them. Thank you.

My mother, aged 90, needed to recuperate from major thoracic surgery after being discharged from hospital and before moving to a permanent home in Oxford. Knowing the temporary nature of her stay the staff at The Priory have been kind, attentive and professional from the very moment of her arrival.
She has recovered as well as one could possibly hope for and this is in no small measure due to the time she has spent there. A huge thank you and well done to all.

Mother-in-law with late diagnosis of terminal lung cancer (metastasised) Prognosis of weeks. Died on 10th day of being in end of life care. Her view was "nothing is too much of them here - I couldn't ask for more". Her view was "nothing is too much trouble for them here I couldn't ask for more". She
was treated with dignity at all times, with care and friendship, as were we, her family. We were able to spend time with her on Xmas Day, memories we will hold dear. The staff were amazing. Thank you.

Our neighbour had made a decision to go to a care home. As she had no children she asked us to look at care homes. We sorted our a few and visited The Priory. She liked it from the first visit. We came again and still wanted it to be her new home. From the moment we saw it the staff were obliging and
helpful, very clean not to big and a wonderful cosy feel. Exactly what my neighbour needed home from home. Not a typical care home. All the people staying there look happy and not sitting zombielike . If ever my husband and I needed to go somewhere this is really lovely.

This home has a very nice atmosphere and superb staff at all levels. Their care of my mum until her death at the end of August was exemplary. Mum loved here for 21 months and I never had a moments worry.

My mother moved to the home in June 2015, away from her home area to be closer to us. She immediately felt at home and all of the staff showed a high level of care and treated her like someone from their own family. They were very quick to identity potential health concerns and quickly contacted professionals.
My mother enjoyed the range of activities or just the opportunity to review personal photos, sadly she had a bad fall but the staff quickly contacted the ambulance service and us. As we were on holiday she was accompanied to the hospital and supported until we arrived. The carers visited her several times and were always in contact.

Job Title: Senior Housekeeper Joined: 2007

We are all like a large family here at The Priory. My passion is leading the team to perform exceptionally in infection control procedures as I am the infection control champion for the home. I am also an engagement champion which involves me linking with other local homes to share best practice ideas and cascade to the team here. I thoroughly enjoy my role and look forward to many years to come. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, listening to Reggae and I love a nice cold rum and coke.

I first started at The Priory as a Care Assistant. In 2019 I stepped into the role of activity co-ordinator. I love my role and providing a variety of stimulating activities for the residents. We particularly love doing themed days such as beach days, bastille day and various charity events involving the community. In my spare time I love holidays and dancing as I am part of a local dance organisation.
