The Priory Care Home

My mother has to have liquidised food, unfortunately, she doesn't like mashed potato so this causes a problem.

My mother was in residence for 22 months until she passed away. She enjoyed her stay in a friendly and caring environment. The staff were attentive to both residents and visitors. Her end of life care was exemplary.

My friend went to The Priory in 2014 to recover from a time in hospital with a damaged hip. She and her family decided she should stay permanently. Her mobility improved, she took part in activities has her meals in the dining room and was able to go out and about, much of this due to the excellent care she received and regular nutritious meals. Her health, mobility and mental conditions deteriorated and she is now confined initially to her room and now to her bed. All this time the staff have been caring and attentive, coping with her moods and occasional bad language with good humour and patience. Staff retention is good which is comforting for residents and families. The home is welcoming, warm, clean and tidy and the food appears varied and appetising. I would have no problem recommending The Priory for either short or long-term care.

I was impressed at the standard of care when choosing this care home and I have not changed my opinion. The residents are offered a varied daily activity programme. Staff are friendly and kind.

The staff were very nice and came when I needed help. I only joined in with one activity as I was only there just under a week, but it was very enjoyable.

Overall we are pleased with the priory care home. My only complaint is parking marked for visitors only, is constantly taken up by staff owned cars. We, therefore, have to park on the street which is awkward for my disabled wife.

Two weeks respite care after full hip replacement. The operation set me on the long road to recovery and improved mobility. Excellent staff. Many different personalities but all very kind and caring. No problems or complaints, only compliments. Some people might think rooms are a bit small.

From the moment I went to view The Priory for my Gran I knew that she would get the most wonderful care. All the staff at The Priory are just simply fantastic, so caring, so friendly, they listen to the service user and the whole family and make their stay as comfortable as possible. Nothing is too much trouble. The team all work so well together and keep such a positive spirit. A special thank you to the nurses who cared for my Gran so well. We could not have asked for better support during those difficult days. From a health care background myself I could not recommend The Priory highly enough. (Special thanks to the chef for the cakes too!)

My wife and I are extremely satisfied and delighted by the level of care and support offed by The Priory. The staff are wonderful and very caring and attentive. The food provided is excellent and very good choices.

My mother's care at The Priory was impeccable. From the time we arrived to be shown around through to the time of her death on 6th June. Staff- nurses and carers befriended mum, were kind, caring and very professional. She has some episodes of becoming very unwell and these difficult situations were managed very well. The liaison with the GP and Macmillian team was excellent in ensuring mum had the best possible care considering she has cancer, diabetes and needed pain management, as well as other symptoms. Mum and the family here always informed about her plan of care involved us always. The home was v.clean, comfortable and dietary and food intake monitored daily. The manager always visible and involved, activities good.

All the staff were very caring, thoughtful and considerate. Always ready to answer any questions. Caring and nursing standards were very high as were the hygiene and cleanliness. Good activities programme. Overall experience excellent. Would certainly recommend this care home.

My mother was at 'The Priory Care Home, Solihull' for 5+ years. During that time, she was extremely well cared for and was treated with respect by the staff. They were friendly and attentive at all times. We could come and go at any time and she was always well dressed and cared for. I have absolutely no complaints. She was very happy there.

I chose The Priory because of it's care rating and homely feel. My mother has always been very independent and this was her first time in respite care. She felt at home immediately and every time I rang she said all the staff without exception were wonderful and life was much easier there than at home. I had to be away for three weeks for medical reasons and was so relieved that she was so well cared for. Excellent many thanks.

My father spent his last few months being cared for at The Priory Care Home in Shirley. The staff where so attentive and really looked after him. We were honoured to have met such wonderful staff. Dad sadly passed away here on 11/4/16.

My brother-in-law and his wife were given two rooms side by side, he was recovering from a stroke. His wife had dementia, both were well cared for. The staff were very caring and realised that my brother-in-law wanted to spend as much time as possible with his wife in the days before she died. The rooms were well appointed and contained everything that was needed. A special bed was provided for his wife. My brother-in-law enjoyed his food and the staff did their best to feed her. I don't think anything more could have been done for them. Thank you.

100% care and attention. Wonderful staff and activities.

My mother, aged 90, needed to recuperate from major thoracic surgery after being discharged from hospital and before moving to a permanent home in Oxford. Knowing the temporary nature of her stay the staff at The Priory have been kind, attentive and professional from the very moment of her arrival. She has recovered as well as one could possibly hope for and this is in no small measure due to the time she has spent there. A huge thank you and well done to all.

Mother-in-law with late diagnosis of terminal lung cancer (metastasised) Prognosis of weeks. Died on 10th day of being in end of life care. Her view was "nothing is too much of them here - I couldn't ask for more". Her view was "nothing is too much trouble for them here I couldn't ask for more". She was treated with dignity at all times, with care and friendship, as were we, her family. We were able to spend time with her on Xmas Day, memories we will hold dear. The staff were amazing. Thank you.

We couldn't have wished for a better place for dad to spend 2 weeks respite. The staff are so caring and kind, nothing is too much trouble.

Staff were informative and offered a sympathetic understanding of a difficult situation.
