The priory is a homely setting and the closest we can get to home for our beloved Dad. Thank you to all the staff for making a difference each day. We appreciate you all so much.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. We are very happy to hear you can feel comfort with your Dad at The Priory Care Home. Hopefully you will go away from this feeling like your loved one received the best possible care.
My husband has complex health needs including Alzheimer's disease. Since being welcomed into the Priory his whole demeanour has improved. Whilst he cannot speak staff do their utmost to anticipate his needs and to make him comfortable. Communication between staff and family is excellent and any queries are dealt with promptly. I highly recommend The Priory to anyone requiring care for themselves or a loved one.
Thank you for your kind words. We are glad to help you and your family through such a difficult time and we are so pleased to hear that your husband is comfortable and is being well cared for. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after....
I have found that staff in The Priory Care Home have been professional, empathetic, friendly and caring. Compared to other care homes that I have had interactions with, they are exemplars of how I would hope that a team of carers would go about their duties.
Thank you for your kind words. It is always nice to hear words like “professional, empathetic, friendly and caring" being used to describe our care. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your loved one in our care and we hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care.
My mother-in-law was offered a place at The Priory having spent two months in the hospital. We are very pleased with the level of care she is receiving. All staff have been extremely friendly, and professional and provide exceptional care. Having watched my mother-in-law slowly deteriorate with dementia for many years, it is now so lovely to see her comfortable and relaxed and the agitation and stress have improved dramatically, I truly believe this is due to the excellent care she is receiving, thank you to all of the staff who work so hard.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is always nice to hear from family members who feel like their loved one is being so well cared for and looked after. We hope to continue providing your mother-in-law with the best possible care.
I stopped for seven weeks of respite/rehab following a major operation four weeks earlier. Overall, the home gave me the support I required before I returned to my home. All the staff were helpful, supportive and friendly. The food was good (I put on weight which I had lost in hospital) and I enjoyed the activities organised. Over the last ten years, I have had direct experience with four similar homes and this was the best out of the four.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. It's always nice to hear words such as "helpful" and "friendly" being used to describe our care. Thank you for choosing The Priory for your stay.
Some of the senior nursing staff who give out the prescriptions are extremely professional and they seem to hold the place together. Your previous manager was brilliant at looking after patients, but his admin skills were non-existent, as a family we had hardly any emails regarding The Priory, very poor. My mother has had her main meal missed out at least twice, and on other occasions, given a different meal to her request, and told the kitchen is closed at 5 pm! Often her call button is not answered for at least 1/2 an hour. Not good enough! No heating in the shower room for 18 months!
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We take all feedback very seriously and use it to continuously improve our services. I understand our management team have already been in touch with you regarding this matter. If there is anything further we can do please let us know
The main issue of concern is the number of agency staff and the lack of hands-on carers that are available. The care team are excellent, just not enough of them. The need to retain good staff in this competitive environment will, I fear, also become an issue, particularly around their flexibility and pay.
Thank you for your feedback. I understand our management team is already aware of this and is in touch with you regarding this matter. Please let us know if there is anything further we can do.
The carers are so tentative towards my nan and have got to know her so well, they can always tell when she is not herself and are quick to respond with the appropriate care. They're very understanding of my nan's changes in attitude and treat her with respect. The room is always kept clean and tidy. Sometimes it is frustrating when staff are always changing as they do not know how to deal with my nan and can sometimes do the opposite of what is asked. Apart from that, I would highly recommend.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. It is lovely to hear that you feel our staff are understanding of your Nans care needs and know how to respond with the care needed. Thank you for your recommendation.
The staff are all fantastic, not just the caring staff, but also cleaning/laundry/reception. Very responsive to queries, work hard to get other agencies involved where necessary and happy to help with everyday things. Nice choice of food. Very clean environment. Activities co-ordinators are excellent, even trying very hard to include reluctant residents to join in.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. It is nice to hear that you find all of our staff fantastic and happy to help. Thank you for your kind words.
Not only do they provide constant care for my wife, but also look after me when visiting on a daily basis.
Thank you for your review. We are glad to hear that you feel your Wife is being well cared for at The Priory. Thank you for choosing us to care for her.
Our father spent some time in the Priory Care Home. He received excellent care, so when our mother needed care, the Priory was the ideal choice. Our mother has received excellent care during the pandemic. The staff were excellent in securing the best contact by means of video calls, and pod visits and would spend time keeping us updated on Mother's well-being. Mother is always kept clean and tidy. The staff members are always helpful and friendly. They deliver an excellent care service and I would recommend The Priory Care Home to anyone looking for a place for their loved ones to be cared for.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are glad to hear that you have found the communication to be really effective from The Priory. It is always so nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is well cared for. Thank you for your recommendation.
Find the home clean and tidy. Caring and helpful.
Thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate you taking the time to write this review.
My Mother has been resident since August 2021. The manager and his team were very helpful and accommodating at short notice when it became necessary to change from planned respite to full time care. Since then, the level of nursing and domiciliary care has been excellent as she moves towards end of life. The regular attendance of local GPs means she receives much better access than would have been available at home, particularly during Covid. We cannot speak highly enough of the support given and care shown to us all by all the staff, including leaders, both over the telephone and when visiting. I would highly recommend the Priory Care Home.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your lovely review. We are glad to hear that everyone at The Priory has been there to support you through this difficult time. Thank you again for your recommendation.
My dear friend was in The Priory Care Home from August 2020 until she sadly passed away in July 2021. The atmosphere was calm, warm and homely; very much one big family. The care, kindness and support given to my friend whilst she was a resident were second to none. The management and staff were friendly, helpful, hardworking and always treated my friend with dignity. As visitors, we were always made welcome. They kept us informed and dealt with any of our concerns. I would highly recommend The Priory Care Home.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are sorry for your loss, please accept our condolences. We are glad to help you and your family through such a difficult time. Hopefully, you will go away from this feeling like your friend received the best possible care.
My wife has been a resident at The Priory for two years, after experiencing a 3rd and 4th stroke impact, which left her incapacitated in movement and slurred speech. Entry into the Priory was in 2019, with intermittent visits to the hospital and back, bringing us into 2021, past the dreaded Covid. I commend The Priory for keeping my wife safe and in care through the difficult times and the demands placed on staff to cope with her ailments. The Priory staff team show patience and understanding through difficult issues with patients, and that includes my wife, but they pressed on relentlessly with due care. The Care team has shown the responsibility of being committed and I applauded all, given such a demanding role. I wish to say, in appreciation, thank you to all who helped my wife along the way at The Priory and I am aware it has had its difficulties. She is now being cared for at home. I would recommend The Priory for anyone seeking personal care. Thank you to all.
Thank you for your kind words. It is lovely to hear how happy you have been with the care given to your wife. It is always nice to hear words like “Patient” and “Understanding” being used to describe our care. Thank you for choosing The Priory for your wife's stay.
My late wife was a resident on the nursing floor of The Priory for almost four years, until her recent death. Throughout that time, until enforced visiting restrictions due to Coronavirus, I visited regularly. She was always clean and well cared for by welcoming and hardworking staff. Even during the lockdown, every effort was made to keep me informed of her condition, and to support window visits to see her. The atmosphere was warm and friendly to my wife, myself and my family with respect, dignity and affection. I always felt she was in safe hands. Staff involved as many residents as were able in entertaining and stimulating activities. I have nothing but praise for all staff in all departments of the home. Indeed, they became friends with us.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. Please accept our sincere condolences. We are, however, glad to hear that you felt your wife was well looked after throughout her time with us and that she was treated with respect and dignity by all the staff.
The staff at The Priory are second to none, they are the most wonderful, kind and caring people, and I couldn't have wished for anything better for my mother. From day one, in January 2018 until her last breath in March 2021, the staff have been excellent. Caring, considerate, warm, gentle, kind sensitive, nice, generous, warm are all words I would use to describe the staff at The Priroy. Thank you to you all.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. It is really lovely to hear that our staff were so caring and considerate during your Mothers final days. Hopefully, you will go away from this feeling like your Mother received the best possible care.
Extremely welcoming staff, clean and tidy rooms and a happy atmosphere. My aunt has been in The Priory for 5-years and is very happy here. Good communication with the staff, and plenty of activities.
Thank you for your kind words. It is lovely to hear that you feel welcomed by our staff and that your aunt is happy in our care.
I came to the care home overtired and somewhat stressed. My stay of over six months at the Priory has been helpful in my recovery (and freedom from anxiety). Activities here have kept me alert and at age 95, increased my energy levels. I have found this a rewarding experience all round and I leave with pleasant memories of the staff and fellow residents. Kindness abounds.
We really appreciate you taking the time to leave us such lovely comments.
The staff have looked after my mum like a member of their own family, they are kind and caring and show respect to the residents and relatives alike, they always make time for me and keep me updated and deal with any concerns. I am extremely grateful for all their care and how hard they work particularly in the recent pandemic, where they went above and beyond to take care of all the residents and I can’t thank them enough.
It gives me peace of mind to know mum is being cared for so well.
If mum is happy then I am happy
Thankyou The Priory!
We are very happy to hear you are satisfied with the quality of our care. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you or your family.

Meet the Team (2)

We are all like a large family here at The Priory. My passion is leading the team to perform exceptionally in infection control procedures as I am the infection control champion for the home. I am also an engagement champion which involves me linking with other local homes to share best practice ideas and cascade to the team here. I thoroughly enjoy my role and look forward to many years to come. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, listening to Reggae and I love a nice cold rum and coke.

I first started at The Priory as a Care Assistant. In 2019 I stepped into the role of activity co-ordinator. I love my role and providing a variety of stimulating activities for the residents. We particularly love doing themed days such as beach days, bastille day and various charity events involving the community. In my spare time I love holidays and dancing as I am part of a local dance organisation.
