The staff are so two faced that they spread rumours about team members like wild fire certain members make rude and sexual comments to management and get away with it and certain team leaders think they are above the rest and talk down to staff n resident's and again nothing said the decor is like something out of the 60's. I heard my old room has finally had a lick of battleship grey paint. They like to keep you in bed or in a chair in your room. I have a stoma bag an one day it leaked n then burst i was left laying in my own mess for 45 mins before being cleaned then on another day whilst i was in a chair they refused to hoist me back in chairs saying its above my pay grade if you want to send your folks to a poorly run home send them here but trust me i wouldnt. I dont expect to get a response from them as management dont like confrontation.
Grandad spent the last few days of his life here and was cared for incredibly well. It looks a little tired but the staff couldn't have done any more for him or for us. They made sure he was as comfortable as he could be during his short stay and made sure we had everything we could possibly need whilst we were there with him, including overnight stays. They were incredibly caring and compassionate and made this difficult time that bit more gentle with their kindness.
My mom was only at the home for a week, but the care was amazing and nothing was too much. The staff all went above and beyond and treated my mom like their own. They are all angels without wings. Thank you all so much.
Dad spent his last few days here. Great staff and well well-run. He wasn't able to eat so cannot comment on the food. Room was okay, but it doesn't need to be plush under the circumstances. Staff were understanding and professional.
My mom was put into palliative care and went into Arboretum Nursing Home after a lot of deliberation by myself as I had been caring for her at her home. All the staff showed both my mom and family compassion, respect and outstanding care. Everyone was approachable and the building was kept clean and had no smells like some of the care homes I had visited. Mom was only there for two weeks and she passed away with dignity. I would recommend this nursing home to anyone that needed it. Well done to all concerned. Thank you so much.
I would rate this home with 10 stars if I could purely on the care and love that the staff show the residents. Our Mum spent 5 months being cared for in palliative care and it was outstanding. The staff were amazing. I think care homes are not operating as they would due to covid and I hope this changes soon as it can affect the quality of life for residents. I think some management issues could be improved but this did not affect our experience and we shall be forever grateful to the angels that work here.
I stayed for rehab after a spell in hospital. The staff were very pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Food was excellent including a full English breakfast if required and a choice of 3 main meals at 5 pm. The only downside was that I spent a whole afternoon waiting for transport to get me home.
She spent most of her time in bed with a television on a channel she did not want to watch. Little or no communication from staff.
The room, although basic, was always kept clean and had a toilet and washbasin
and the shower room was directly opposite.
The treatment received by the staff was of an exceptionally high standard and nothing was ever to much trouble for them. The care workers worked very hard and I received excellent treatment from the nurses. The food was of a satisfactory standard and I found the choice of food always meant there was something I liked. The homemade vegetable soup was delicious, the catering staff were always very pleasant and would prepare any meal within reason - one night I had a bacon and tomato sandwich.
Although I hadn’t wanted to go to respite after my stay in hospital, it was the best thing I could have done and I would not hesitate to go again if required. My only criticism is the sheets... they did not fit my bed and I had to remake my bed several times during the day and night.
My mom was resident in this home for nearly 9 months when she passed away and it was the best home she had ever been in, the care was excellent from the nurses, the carers, the kitchen staff, they all loved my mom. The food was varied and fresh and of a good standard. The home was always clean and never smelt like a care home. The staff were always welcoming and friendly and always approachable and acted on any concerns on mom's wellbeing. Towards the end when mom was refusing food and drink the carers always tried their very best to get mom to eat and drink most the time with little success but they always persisted to try. It's not hard to see why they have achieved a gold standard award they thoroughly deserve it. A big thank you to you all.
Fantastic palliative care for my mom. Lovely people. I thank you for dealing with my mom's passing with dignity.
My Mom was resident at Arboretum Nursing Home for 6 months. In that time the level of care was second to none. Upon Mom's passing away the respect and care shown to both my mother and my family was more than we could have ever expected. The people who work there are so amazing and they genuinely care, they are kind, considerate and always have a smile. No words will ever express our gratitude for everything they have done in what has been a very difficult time for us. We take great comfort in knowing how well Mom was cared for. Thank you.
Appalling management. We had serious concerns about this care home and notified the Care Quality Commission who advised we set up a meeting with the manager. We had a meeting with him along with other professionals: NHS Staff and community care. He promised he would investigate our concerns and if action was necessary he would take appropriate action. He promised he would get back to us with the outcome of this meeting but he never did! After several months had passed we telephoned him to find out what his investigations had uncovered but he ignored our calls! This speaks volumes about his lack of professionalism and the other health care workers who were present. No replies from no one. This care home is a disaster waiting to happen. I notified the CQC about his failure but did not hear from them too.
My 98-year-old father was resident for 5 months until he sadly passed away. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff - from nurses, carers, even housekeeping. The home is spotlessly clean and comfortable. My father was dearly loved by staff and was made to feel at home, as was I on my daily visits. Food was plentiful and varied. I would have no hesitation in recommending this nursing home.
Terrible home. Apart from one member of staff who was always keen to help, mom was just left laying in bed. Food awful, cheapest ingredients. No real nutrition or nice treats. No stimulus for residents at all, just left in bedrooms alone.
