We are really happy with how well our mum has settled into Parkfield Grange in such a short time - it's amazing to see how comfortable she is after just two weeks. The home itself is beautiful and feels welcoming and well cared for. There is a great variety of activities on offer, which has really helped
mum stay engaged and happy. The staff and carers are absolutely lovely with her - kind, patient, and genuinely caring. They are also very approachable and supportive, even taking the time to return calls after work hours, which has meant a lot to us as a family. We feel reassured knowing mum is in such a caring and professional environment.
Reply from Emily Hocking, Home Admissions Advisor at Parkfield GrangeThank you so much for taking the time to share this, it truly means a great deal to us all at Parkfield Grange.

We are absolutely delighted to hear how well your mum has settled in such a short space of time. Those first couple of weeks are so important, so knowing that she already feels comfortable and at home is wonderful to hear.

It is lovely that you have noticed the variety of activities too, keeping everyone engaged and happy is something we are very passionate about. Most of all, your kind words about our team will mean so much to them. They really do care deeply about the people who live here, and about the families who trust us with their loved ones.

Thank you again for your reassurance and support, we feel very proud to be part of your mum's journey.

Our uncle came to Parkfield Grange for respite care following a heart attack. It became clear that he was getting weaker. The care he received was excellent, and the staff were caring and attentive. They were also encouraging to him and considerate of the family. They made sure that his and our wishes
were followed.
Reply from Emily Hocking, Home Admissions Advisor at Parkfield GrangeThank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback. We are really pleased to hear that your uncle received such good care during his time with us.

Mum came to Parkfield in November following a fracture. We have been hugely impressed with the quality of care , carers are kind and capable and treat mum with dignity and respect. Other staff are very friendly too . As mum had started to recover she has been able to take part in a range of activities. The
activities on offer are varied and tailored to the residents needs and wants. We've been really impressed with what is on offer and like the fact that activities take place in different areas of the home . We feel that having the opportunity to move around the building is a really positive addition to daily life. Parkfield is a large care home. We have found this to be advantageous in terms of what is on offer and allowing mum to engage with many different residents and staff members. We've also found that the care/ daily life is very tailored to individual needs which is impressive with the number of residents living in the home. We would highly recommend Parkfield.

It means a great deal to know that our carers are supporting her with kindness, dignity, and respect, as this is central to everything we do. Our activities team work hard to ensure sessions are varied and tailored to residents' individual needs, so your feedback is truly appreciated.

We're pleased you have seen the benefits of using different areas of the home, helping residents remain active, engaged, and socially connected. Thank you also for recognising the personalised approach we take to care, even within a larger home.

Your recommendation means a great deal to the whole Parkfield team. Thank you again for your kind words and trust in our care.

Since my brother has been in your care, I have noticed a great improvement in his overall health and demeanour. He is happy and content and treated very well. My main comment is that the food needs slight adjustment in some cases.

I feel confident that my mother is safe and well cared for, as her needs are changing. Staff will quickly adapt to manage this. It took her a while to settle, having previously been living independently. The facilities are great, including a lovely garden. All the staff are very friendly and helpful.

I would highly recommend Parkfield Grange. Since our first meeting with Emily and our show around, we got the sense that they would really take the time to understand and adapt to my Dad as a person and also his needs. We have not been disappointed in this regard and feel he has really come a long way
since being here; both in terms of enjoyment, integration and anxiety levels. It has been of great peace of mind to our family to know that he has been so well looked after. We are only moving him now due to the need for more out-of-home activity.
Reply from Emily Hocking, Home Admissions Advisor at Parkfield GrangeThank you so much for your lovely review. It means a great deal to all of us at Parkfield Grange. From the moment we met you and your dad, we wanted to truly understand his needs and personality, so it's wonderful to hear that you felt supported and that he has grown in confidence, enjoyment, and connection during his time with us. It was a pleasure to support your father as well as you as a family, and we wish your dad every happiness in this next chapter. Please know he will always be warmly thought of here.

My aunt was repatriated to UK after an accident on a cruiseship. Arriving at Parkfield Grange she was very weak, barely walking and lost all confidence. From the moment we arrived at P.G we were welcomed as family. Nothing was too much trouble and although her stay has been short (2 weeks) every member
of staff has treated her as a relative. She has been so well looked after that she is returning to her home almost back to full strength. This was the best decision we made and would not hesitate to encourage her to return if she needed support. Brilliant!!
Reply from Emily Hocking, Home Admissions Advisor at Parkfield GrangeThank you so much for sharing your aunt's story. We're truly touched by your kind words and so pleased to hear that her stay at Parkfield Grange helped her regain strength and confidence. It means a great deal to know she felt cared for like family and that you felt supported every step of the way. We're thrilled she's well enough to return home and wish her all the very best in her continued recovery. She'll always have a warm welcome here if she ever needs us again.

Truly outstanding care received by my mother for over 3 1/2 years. It is a wonderful home with great facilities but most importantly, the Carers and everyone who works there are totally professional, extremely caring, compassionate and respectful. My mother was looked after so well and she really
did consider Parkfield to be her home. It is a happy place to live and the food is excellent (especially the cakes!). I could not recommend Parkfield more highly - I'd like to book myself in.

And yes - the kitchen will be thrilled to hear the cakes got a special mention (they are a bit of a highlight!).We're so grateful for your recommendation, and we'll absolutely save you a room when you're ready - cake included, of course!

Very few times in life do you come across somewhere that is run so professionally. I cant fault the staff, the way they care for ma and interact with her. The first time I came here to visit ma the staff new all about me because they had taken an interest in her stories. Not only do they look after
your loved ones in here but when you visit you are well looked after too. The staff all seem so happy here which shows in the care they give and the attention to detail.
Yes it is on the pricey side but you get what you pay for and I personally I think it very good value for money.

You have always been very cooperative, kind and welcoming when I visited mother.
It was always a pleasure to see how happy comfortable she was and surrounded by lovely staff who were always so kind to her.
She loved the star and they seem to have a good respect for her too
It was unfortunate due
to her blindness that she could not take part in a lot of the activities, but the ones that she could do she enjoyed.
Everything was spotless and the bathroom was clean and all the staff were very vigilant about personal hygiene
Not the not got the best appetite but what she did eat she enjoyed and although only have a meal at night she loved the company on the table.
We would strongly recommend Parkfield Grange to any of our friends as we felt the personal touches we are excellent
All the staff were easy to talk to and tried very hard to help if and when necessary

Dad only moved in to Parkfield at the end of January. He was made very welcome and we hoped his quality of life would greatly improve. Unfortunately his health declined quickly and unexpectedly but staff cared and supported him, encouraging him to get up and about when possible. He suffered a number
of falls which were unavoidable and he moved into end of life care. Staff were diligent in making him as comfortable as possible and were very attentive to family needs at a difficult time. Sadly dad died without really enjoying all the facilities Parkfield has to offer. The family is very grateful for the care and support received.

I chose Parkfield Grange as it's said to have a good reputation and it's recommended by the surgeon who carried out my hip replacement. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 registered maximum number of service users is 16, which has been reached with 44 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Wellbeing & Lifestyle Coordinator Joined: 2021

WHAT I DO: I am the activity coordinator at Parkfield Grange and moved into this post in June 2023. My role within the home is to put together a programme of activities to keep all the residents engaged and active within our community. This includes meeting with the residents to understand their likes, dislikes and hobbies and planning activities according to these. This also involves putting together large events within the home and booking outside vendors such as singers, musicians and theatre companies.

MY EXPERIENCE: I have worked within health and social care for most of my career for the past 17 years. I began within the NHS working as an ambulance call taker and then moved to work as a Nursing Assistant within hospitals. I then made the move to working in rehabilitation as a Therapy Support Worker, working with the elderly population in hospitals specialising in rehabilitation following hip surgery. After doing this for nearly 3 years, I made the move to work in a local nursing home as an activity coordinator, but due to the pandemic, I quickly moved to a Care and Senior Carer position within the home, working with dementia residents. I made the move to Parkfield Grange in 2021 as a Senior Care Assistant.

ABOUT ME: I have a Border Terrier puppy called Ruby who loves to come in to work with me and enjoys cuddles and walks in the garden with all our residents.

In my spare time, I enjoy time with my family, long walks and days out with Ruby, and when we are able, love to travel the world, visit new places and meet new people. I also have a weakness for shopping.
