I have lived here four years in June. I have always been treated with respect by nice happy staff. My name is Lakhvir, though many people know me as Lucky. I am a registered nurse with over 20 years of experience in clinical nursing and service management, particularly in dementia care and care home management.
As a teenager, I hoped to study law, but my mother encouraged me to become a nurse. My first posting was in a cardiac critical care unit. It took time to understand her choice, but caring for people helped me find my purpose.
When motherhood led me into social care, I discovered a special passion for dementia care and for supporting people who cannot always speak for themselves. I have learned so much from those I care for and the colleagues I have worked alongside. Seeing those colleagues thrive makes me proud.
I also take part in fundraising for Alzheimer’s research. Behind every diagnosis is a person with a lifetime of memories, surrounded by loved ones who cherish them. I am proud to help raise awareness and support the search for better treatments and, one day, a cure.
It is a privilege to lead a service where people feel heard, respected, and cared for.

Having worked in different roles within care, I understand how important it is to make everyone feel welcome. As Administrator at Delves Court, I enjoy getting to know our residents and families and helping to create a friendly community.
