The staff are the highlight of Parklands and all deserve to be paid a lot more. They are all so hardworking and caring. They look after my relative with such respect and kindness that I couldn't ask for more. His room is kept clean and tidy. He enjoys the meals and is offered seconds if he wants more.
He is dressed in clean clothes every day. We are self-funding and the fees are crippling but at least I know he is safe and well cared for. I am kept informed of any issues relating to his health, in person or by phone. To improve, I feel staffing needs to be improved further so individual staff members are able to spend more one-to-one time with residents, talking to them and sharing memories or simple activities. I think this may already be in the pipeline. More care needs to be taken with sorting clothing from the laundry as despite having every clothing item individually labelled with sew-in tapes, my relative's clothes still go missing.
Reply from Paul Lawson, National Sales Manager at Parklands Court Care HomeThank you very much for your review and for your kind words about the staff at Parklands Court. We will share this with the team and they will be delighted to receive your compliments. You are correct that we are introducing a new groundbreaking initiative named 'B Happie' which will see more one-to-one time with residents and a whole home approach to activities. We have seen the benefit of this already, it's been fantastic for both the residents and staff and we are sure you will also see this when you are visiting. Thanks again and best wishes.

Our dad has just been moved to this home, previously been in 2 before this one.
Can honestly say it’s the most loveliest of homes, we know Dad is looked after here. The staff are by far the best I have seen and can tell they genuinely care. We thought we would never find anywhere like this.
Thank
you all so much.

Sadly our aunt passed away in December and whilst the care she received was on the whole at a satisfactory level, there is one issue that seems endemic in this organisation that of communication. This has been brought into even sharper focus when we have not received a refund of the original deposit
we had to pay. Contractually this should have been paid within 28 days, in writing this we are at 46 days and still waiting. A newspaper ran an article in 2023 about another Advinia resident that also had issues and I have also communicated with someone that waited 5 months for a refund. You have been warned!
Reply from Paul Lawson, National Sales Manager at Parklands Court Care HomeHello and thank you for your review. We extend our sincere sympathies on the loss of your aunt and send best wishes to you and your family. We can confirm the refund was paid into your bank account on 16th February and apologise for the delay.

My partner was released from hospital to Elmor House at Parklands Court Care Home several weeks ago for assessment after a number of falls. From day one, safety and security were paramount! Each and every member of staff treated him and all his visitors including myself with dignity and respect at all
times. A challenging career and clearly rewarding. The staff deserve a medal for their hard work and devotion. Be very proud of them all and thank you!

The activities team, especially one team member is great, she's always cheerful and bubbly. The residents need a lot more stimulation, especially during lockdown. Issues with wardrobe, missing socks or thrown away? It would be great if the activities team had more staff to do more for residents. Not
enough staff was used as a reason for not getting residents out of bed.

I have lived at Parklands Court for 2 years, I'm currently living on Harrison House. Since being on the unit my confidence has grown, I have a great relationship with the team and see them as not only my carers but my family. The care staff are brilliant at their job and always make me feel safe and
comfortable. They treat me with respect and dignity whilst also allowing me to remain as independent as possible.
The Unit Manager goes above and beyond to help me, she always makes time for me and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you.

Today we lost our Mum, she has been a resident of Collins House at Parklands Court for a few years now. She wasn't just a resident, she was treated and loved like family by all the staff there. I can't thank you enough for all you did for her, she loved you as much as you loved her. Mum was always treated
with respect and dignity, she was shown so much love from you all. She had many laughs and giggles with you all. I can't thank you enough for all you did for her. Forever grateful to you all.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.480)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.480) out of 10 for Parklands Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 23 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.774 for Parklands Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (215 Excellents x 5) + (49 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 270 Ratings = 4.774
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.706 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Parklands Court Care Home is based on 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 163 registered maximum number of service users is 32.6. 23 Positive Reviews ÷ 32.6 = 0.706
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
