My sister, with her many needs and requirements, seems to be well looked after. I can find no fault with her personal, physical and mental care and her nursing care has been excellent. The staff are well trained, kind and attentive. It is especially advisable to clearly mark all clothing and belongings and parts of the gardens are a little untidy. However, the important stuff is all done well.

Both of my parents have lived at Parklands Court. My mother has been there for 7 years and has always been looked after very well. She has always been calm and settled and appears to be happy. The staff know her well and anticipate her needs. In April this year, my father was moved to Parklands Court from the hospital for end of life care. The management were very supportive and helped me a lot during his transfer. The staff were very attentive towards him and nursed him very well, they all made his last weeks as comfortable as they could.

My husband has settled well at Parklands. He is familiar with the staff and their support of his needs and wellbeing.
He is well looked after with his care and nursing care.

He enjoys his food and a clean environment in his room and the cleanliness of Parklands. Thank you.

Mam was an emergency admission via the hospital due to a safeguarding issue. We were met at the door with welcoming smiles, a comfy room and lovely hot meal for mam, which meant the world to us after the awful traumatic time mam and the family had been through that day. For them to go ahead and take mam at short notice and on a day when they probably wouldn't take a resident in, showed us as a family, they care and as a family, that's all we want.

Thank you for taking the feedback which has been shared with the unit and staff. We endeavour to support all discharges promptly and work with families at what can be a very difficult time.

Again thank you for your ongoing support.

After several meetings with social workers, our family accepted the time had come for Mum, who has vascular dementia for the last five years, to be admitted into residential care. My sister and I visited several care homes and Parklands Court was last on our list, although the most local, because of lots of negative rumours we had heard. Needless to say, we did not expect to find the 'forever home' for our dear Mum. We could not have been more wrong. The young lady who welcomed us was a very good advocate for Parklands Court, she was very professional, caring and friendly and answered all our concerns with compassion and understanding. After a tour of the home, during which we were introduced to staff and residents, we were shown all areas, including lounge, dining and bedrooms, all the time gave a comprehensive talk on the kind of care Mum would receive. When we left, my sister and I were both smiling and knew that we had found the home from home we and the family wanted for our dear Mum. Mum has only been a resident for a short time (seven weeks) but she has settled well with the help of the staff, and so far everything has lived up to expectations. We are so pleased we decided to visit Parklands Court that day.

My mother has resided in Marlboro House for the past 8 years. She has no movement or verbal communication and mainly sleeps. She has a period of 'vacant episodes' due to her advanced dementia, she lies in her chair all day and has only liquids for food. The staff are friendly, caring and hardworking but always appear 'rushed off their feet' and are often short-staffed. The home manager appears to have good systems in place, but can be hampered by the constant change of upper management that is haphazard and no one stays for long. More needs to be done to achieve an overall good.

My husband has been in Parklands Court for 4 years in November. He spent his first 15 months in Harrison House, following which he was transferred to Marlborough House. He is very happy in Marlborough and has an extremely good relationship with all of the staff as they have with him, even though he can be difficult to handle at times. Their dedication to him and all of the residents is second to none. Nothing is ever too much trouble irrespective of what they may be doing or how busy they are at that time. The cleanliness of the unit is excellent due to the conscientious housekeeping staff. When I was searching for a suitable home for my husband, I visited most of the ones available within the Wolverhampton area as I reside in Wednesfield. I could not find one where I was happy to admit my husband. My last resort was Parklands Court, and it was the best thing I could have done for him. I was so very impressed with the different units (bearing in mind what I had viewed already), together with the friendliness of the staff. It would be impossible, after spending almost four years here, to find anywhere to compare with the care my husband receives in Marlborough House. We also have an excellent unit manager whose door is always open and is always willing to discuss and listen to any issues relating to his care.

My mum has been at Parklands Court for fifteen years. The staff have always shown my mum excellent care and respect her dignity. Although my mum is unable to participate in activities, the activities organisers always try to include mom by taking time in reading to her and including her with the activities of the sensory light activities. The caring staff and nurses are a credit to Parklands Court always providing a smile when visiting my mom. I'm glad I found the best home for my mum as I wouldn't want her to be anywhere else. A big thank you to all of you your a credit to Parklands Court.

Working at senior level in dementia I was fully aware of what was required to meet my brother's needs when choosing a care home. Small unit. Experienced dementia trained staff. Happy clean environment. Well, balanced healthy nourishing diet. Appropriate activities. Security, regular meetings. My brother to be treated with empathy, dignity and respect, his rights fully understood. His personal needs foremost at all times. Parkland Court has more than fully met our requirements.

Review from Joanne W (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 5 August 2019 Submitted via Website

My grandmother first stayed in Parklands Court just a few months ago, initially for respite following admittance into hospital after a fall at home. She is 95-years old and up until recently, had lived independently in her own home. Following respite, our plan was for her to move in with my aunt as she was unable to return home due to needing increased care and support. This arrangement did not work out and we had to make the difficult decision as a family to place my grandmother in a care home. Parklands Court was our first choice following the respite experience. As a family, we cannot fault the support - both physical and emotional - we have received from the whole staff team, from the management to the carers and auxiliary staff. They have been fantastic! The accommodation is perfect and my grandmother has a beautiful room with her own patio/miniature garden. We have been allowed to completely personalise the room and it's home from home. Huge thanks for the love and care from all!

My husband has been in the home for three and a half years. I have found the home very satisfactory I only know about Elmore Ward, the carers are very good at their job and I am always treated very kindly. I've never had much to do with the managers so I couldn't say much about them, all I know is that I am always treated very well every time I go and that is almost every day.

My Dad arrived at Parklands Court and was placed in Harrison Ward for his end of life care. All the staff we dealt with were caring and compassionate to Dad's needs, nothing was too much trouble. They were very kind to us too. We couldn't have had better care for Dad and this made his passing more bearable during a very difficult time for all the family. Dad was only there a few days, but we felt it to be a warm, caring environment with lovely staff.

My mom was at Parklands Court for 9 months and sadly passed away last week. She stayed on Samuel House and her care there was second to none.

The staff were brilliant with mom and nothing was too much trouble and she was always treated with respect. The staff really cared for her much more than just doing their job making her feel safe and helping her adjust to life at home. Plus, whenever our family went to visit, which was every day, we were always made very welcome and any queries or questions we had were always answered professionally yet friendly, no matter how busy they were. Could go on and on but will never be able to thank the staff enough for everything they did for our mom.

My uncle has been receiving respite care at Marlborough House for the past 6 weeks. The care he has received from all staff has been outstanding, as a family we cannot thank them all enough. The staff are friendly, compassionate and caring towards both residents and their relatives. Marlborough is a home from home, the environment is bright and dementia friendly. Bedrooms are a good size with plenty of storage. Specialist diets are catered for, my uncle has food allergies and alternatives are provided, he has gained weight and always enjoyed the food. There are quiet areas for use when visiting as noise levels on the unit can be high at times but this is to be expected as many of the residents have complex needs associated with their dementia. The activity coordinator is very good and provides both group and one-to-one activities. I would recommend this home to anyone and hope that when my uncle needs long term care a bed is available. Thank you all for everything you have done!

I cannot thank all the staff enough at Parklands Court for their love, care and support they have all shown to my mom during her 3-year stay at this home. If you have any issues - speak to the manager at each home as I have always found them to be receptive to any issues. My mom was on Marlborough for the last 12 months of her life. The care that she received here was excellent - every member of the team treated her with dignity and respect and the end of life care they provided was exceptional. They never gave up on her and tried their best to encourage her to eat and drink. My mom had advanced dementia and was aggressive - particularly with personal care. Despite this, all the staff carried out their daily tasks with smiles on their faces. They always spoke to her as an individual and included her in their conversations. Her end of life care was excellent - it makes such a difference to families when you know that your loved one is being looked after so well.
