Dad couldn't have spent his last six months in any better place, management were very quick to sort out one or two initial issues, to begin with. Dad needs were very well accommodated, he was very well fed and always had drinks to hand, socialising was always an option and available if he wanted it. In particular dads carers have been fantastic, he was so well looked after, with a smile, good banter, and a laugh, and I know he grew rather fond of many of the carers, and had a very good relationship with most of them. Dad was the favourite of a few lol. I also can't fault management, The Manager, and the team for allowing dad to return from hospital for his last few days, allowing family as much time as we wanted to spend with dad, which we took full advantage of, we were very well treated, and accommodated. Ten out of ten most excellent service. Thank you Rushall Care Home for making my dad's last month's a pleasure, thank you.

Sincere thanks to the amazing staff at Rushall Care Home. My aunt was lucky enough to get a place here after being discharged from hospital in 2021. She was nursed to the highest of standards by a team of dedicated staff who always welcomed us with a smile. Sadly passing away at 92 years of age she was given 10 months of stress-free life and enjoyed every moment. The care manager runs an amazing team. Credit to all of you and thanks on behalf of our family. You are a credit to the profession.

When admitted, my mother was confused and recovering from a fractured hip and breast cancer. The care home staff have helped her start walking again and also encourages her to take part in the activities that the home puts on every day. The staff are friendly and the rooms are in good condition and my mother has started to put weight back on as she enjoys the meals provided.

Words cannot express our gratitude for the care, compassion and kindness given to my husband during his time at Rushall Care Home. The staff and manager are simply wonderful, we cannot fault anything. The home is spotlessly clean, smells fresh and the staff go above and beyond what is expected of them, they give care and support not only to the residents but to the family also. We could not have asked for kinder people to look after him and will always be eternally grateful for the empathy, kindness and dignity given to him during his last few days. If you are looking for a care home for a loved one, in our experience you could not get better than Rushall Care Home, in our opinion, it is how all care homes should be run.

Dad was only at the home for a very short time before passing away on Friday. Staff were wonderfully attentive to my father, courteous towards us and kindly arranged video calls for our family. As my father's care became end of life, they invited my mother and I to visit him. This gave us precious time with him that we shall cherish and my daughters were allowed to see their Grandad before he left the home. They were touched that staff had lined up in respect and that they'd placed a rose on their Grandad's chest. This has helped us all, we know that the care my father received was exceptional. We'd like to thank the staff and especially the manager for their kindness, understanding and support. If you're looking for a care home for your loved one with kind and respectful staff, a clean comfortable environment and a genuinely caring team then Rushall Care Home is hard to beat.

My father came into Rushall Care Home in July. He has been looked after with a high level of care. Lovely meals, personal care 100% and encouraged to join in with activities, which my father really enjoys. The staff are wonderful, they want to help you, and so caring for all the residents.

Not being able to look after a much-loved parent, for whatever reason, is a cause for much frustration, soul searching and sadness. Mom was an absolute star in bringing up myself and my dear brother and in later life, giving all she had to make the lives of her grandchildren the best and happiest that they could be. As we get older our faculties gradually deteriorate until we reach the stage where we are unable to look after ourselves. When this happens, someone needs to look after us. Mom was fast approaching this stage and neither my brother nor myself were in a position whereby we could provide the 24-hours-a-day care that Mom needed. So we began our search to find the best Care Home that we could. Rushall Care Home was that place. All my family would like to show our gratitude to everyone who works there, from the bottom of our hearts, for your humour, your caring and wanting to do your best for the residents always. You are true professionals and should be so proud. Bless you.

When the time comes for a loved one to be placed in the care of others, it can be a very unsettling period for both the relatives and the family member too. I visited a number of other, less nice care homes before having to take the decision of which one to place Mom in. The weight of such a decision can sometimes feel overwhelming and feels like such a huge responsibility to have to make - placing the person who has spent all of your life loving, caring and looking after you into the hands of strangers. I don't mind admitting that I had many, many sleepless nights over the prospect of doing this, but when the time came, the decision was made so much easier because of the wonderful attitudes of the staff, manager and even the owner who kindly helped me move some of Mom's possessions from her house to the Home. Mom's time there was spent being looked after by caring, committed and loving people who treated her with dignity and humanity. Our family have a lot to thank them for. Thank you.

My aunt sadly passed away in September 2020, but was a resident at Rushall Care Home for the last four years of her life. From day one we as a family had been very satisfied with the care and support provided by the care home through carers, management and administration staff. From having been a frequent in-patient in hospital in the months prior to entering residential care my aunt's situation was quickly stabilised, dramatically improving her quality of life. Whilst she was bed-ridden and her mental health deteriorated through dementia over time we believe staff always treated her in her best interests and with respect for her dignity. We were contacted individually about aspects of her care, but also highly valued collective communications such as the monthly newsletter with stories and photos. Whilst living remotely, whenever we visited we were welcomed, any questions we had were answered and we were very confident she was in safe hands.

My Mum has been in Rushall Care Home since November 2019. During her stay, she continues to receive excellent nursing care and support from the whole team. To know that she is safe in a very caring environment is a great comfort for me and the rest of my family. I am also thankful for the ongoing support I am given by everyone to try and make these difficult times manageable. A great example of how dedicated all members of the team are to provide a happy, safe and caring environment for our loved ones.

My nan was a resident at Rushall Care Home, she was only in there for a week or so but she was made very comfortable. I couldn't have asked for a better place for my nan to spend her final days. The staff were very caring, they treated my nan with dignity and nothing was too much trouble. The care home is very welcoming and was always clean and tidy. I highly recommend Rushall Care Home.

Rushall Care Home is very warm and welcoming, Mom has settled in very well, it's like home from home.
The staff are very friendly and caring to both residents and visitors - nothing is to much trouble. There is always plenty of activities and trips with a great variety of different things happening daily. The nursery visits are a brilliant idea, the residents look forward to their visits as much as the children do.
The food is lovely, homemade with plenty of choice and also catering for Mom's diabetic diet.

Rushall Care Home is clean and tidy with its whole team of dedicated staff.

Mum was transferred here from hospital, the staff have been fantastic at taking care of her needs and keeping us up to date with Mum's wellbeing. The activities that are provided for the residents to do are fantastic along with social media updates makes knowledge of how your loved one is doing invaluable certainly in the current climate with COVID looming. Well done to the Rushall Care team, you do a great job.

My mom was only at Rushall for a short time as we accessed the nursing care for her progressing dementia. A nurse took us through an induction, care plan and also included an end of life plan so sensitively when we moved her there. As hard as it was to do this was a huge comfort to us as Mom deteriorated. Mom died sadly during the COVID shutdown, but the home went above and beyond to keep in touch with us. I am so glad we moved her, the staff were friendly, caring and knowledgeable and gave us every confidence she was in the right place.

We have been fantastically impressed with the individual and personalised care that Rushall offers.
The activities co-ordinator organises a great array of activities. The visits from the children of a local nursery are lovely and Dad has also been involved in VR research as well as exercise, games and crafting.
The home always feels like there’s something going on and every single member of staff greets Dad and every other resident personally every time they see them. Visitors are also made welcome.
The manager was very reassuring in the early days, sending photos and updates daily at first (and when he was poorly) - we have more photos of Dad in the past few months than we’ve taken in years and he’s probably done more things too. The food is also excellent, home cooked with a varied menu and choices available.

Where we thought using a care home would be a stressful and difficult choice, it has turned out to be hugely reassuring, and we are able to feel that Dad is safe, cared for and above all, happy.

We have been very impressed with the level of Care that my Father has at Rushall Care Home.

The staff are excellent and do a fantastic job and this ensures that he is very happy there. There are always staff around and they are extremely helpful and friendly.

The other highlights are the food, there seems to be a full and varied menu every day and also the activities that the staff encourage the residents to take part in, such as exercise, day trips out and visits from a local school etc.

I am Phil Toomer-Smith the General Manager here at Rushall Care Home. I began my nursing career in 2006 at the University of Wolverhampton, and have since gained experience in Medical, Surgical, Trauma and Intensive care. I have a passion for delivering good palliative and dementia care services. Previous to nursing I worked in the tourism sector with airlines and hotels so I take customer service very seriously.

I have worked in the community with nursing homes for the last 10 years, starting as a nurse, through to deputy manager and general manager. I moved back to the Midlands in 2020 from the Channel Islands after working there for 7 years.

I enjoy developing my team and eagerly push training and education to ensure that the care delivered is up to date with current standards. I have continued with my education and since qualifying I have completed a BSc in nursing, a Diploma in nursing home management and a postgraduate Diploma in healthcare law and ethics.

I strive to lead a team of staff who enjoy their work and want to develop, as this will only benefit the care our residents receive.

Abi is our Deputy General Manager. Abi has been with us since September 2022 and qualified as an RNLD from Birmingham City University in 2019. This was due to supporting a friend through access to a nursing course and choosing to stay in nursing herself. Previous to nursing Abi has held various forms of employment including being a public house licensee and an NVQ sign-off. Abi gained her foundational clinical skills primarily in forensic psychiatric fields and found herself wanting to round off her skills further in all areas of nursing. Abi is driven to support and ease the burdens of living with complex care needs and supporting residents and their families through end-of-life care. Abi continues to drive quality improvement and positive change, by leading the nursing team and enhancing family communication here at Rushall.
