My father has been cared for very well since arriving at the home. The staff are kind and treat residents with respect. There is a lovey family feel to the home and lots of activities going on. The meals are lovely and the environment is clean and safe. Communication is good and relatives are made to

Mom has been here for a couple of months now, the staff are amazing, so pleased that Mom is here, and we know she is being looked after. The home is lovely and clean, and there is always daily activities for all to join in.

During this time he has been so wonderfully cared for. Too many names to mention individually - but absolutely every member of staff went way above and beyond with their skills and kindness.

All the staff at rushall nursing home are excellent. When my sister came to move in I was nervous for her. She has learning disabilities. She settled in really quickly. Thanx to expert staff, who made her feel safe, empowered and shared jokes and banter with her, and going above and beyond. Your care
is second to none. The activities staff always finds some activities everyone can do. chef, thankyou for providing wonderful nutritious meals and adjusting textures that were necessary at the time. Thankyou for catering for my sisters 65th birthday you did an amazing job. The afternoon was perfect for her and all family. The nurses here are absolutely wonderful. I cannot thankyou enough for what you did to make my sister comfortable at the end of her life. Also thankyou to the nurse that was on night shift 8/ 5/25. And to management, always there to talk to and support families and residents alike. The staff always a warm welcome. Thankyou all.

Our great aunt became a resident for end of life care but recovered somewhat and had the most exceptional time in the last few years of her life. The staffs dedication to the care and entertainment of residents is the best I've ever seen. The entertainment kept her happy and busy during those years
especially the visits from the children.
When she started to decline recently we spent lots of time at the home wanting her not to be alone in her final days and hours, and I cannot compliment the staff enough with their care, compassion and dedication to her and to us. Rushall is an exceptional place for residents and visitors. Well done Rushall!

Rushall Care Home looked after my Nan for the last few months of her life. Only "looked after" could never adequately describe it. Rushall Care Home loved my Nan for the last few months of her life. From the moment she went in she was part of The Rushall Family . They welcomed her, they welcomed us
and nothing was too much trouble She was an incredible woman and I thought nobody could ever care for her the way she deserved, I was wrong. Rushall could. It's a care home like no other, She found a second family before she left us Everything there was about people, there was no sense of industry or it being a business and despite how skilled the staff were and how clean the place was it just didn't feel like a clinical setting, Warmth and kindness emanated from everybody, nobody was there because it was a job. Rushall put the 'care' in care home and Rushall put the 'home' in care home. I will never know how they fit so much empathy into a building with just 3 floors.

Good afternoon
I am the daughter of a recent resident who left your care home this morning after a 3 week respite stay to return home.
Could you please extend mine and the family's heartfelt gratitude and thanks to all of your wonderful staff who looked after dad . The care he received was beyond
our expectations and it was wonderful not needing to worry about him.
Hopefully he can continue with the better health and mindset that he's at now.

From the moment my sister-in-law arrived, she was treated respectfully and with dignity even though her illness had taken away her speech. The kindness shown by every member of staff was fantastic; you should be proud of the service you all provide in creating a caring, structured environment.

The care from the staff whilst looking after my sister cannot be described in any other words than fantastic. All of our questions were answered. Behaviour was explained to me and everyone had time for us and my sister, who was the important one. From the entertainment kitchen staff, no stone was left

From the moment our dad arrived in October until he passed away in February the care he received was excellent. Management, administration, Nurses, carers , cleaners, cooks, housekeeping, maintenance, hairdresser made such a difference. We felt safe knowing he was looked after.
Our mother was made
very welcome. She loved chatting to you all and interacting with everyone.It made a sad time more bearable, she misses her daily visits.
We appreciated how hard the carers worked and the younger carers need to apply their enthusiasm to the NHS!
The family are grateful for the care he received and kind words. To the Nurses who always answered our questions. Thanks to the carers who looked after us all on the last few days and nights. To the night sister who was there on his last night. She was very kind and patient with us all being there. Thankfully he passed away peacefully with his family by his side. It's just sad that you never knew what a genuinely lovely man he was.

All staff at the home are professional, caring from cleaning staff to management. Food is all freshly cooked and very appetizing. If I ever have to go into care I would hope it will be the same care home.

I never normally leave reviews but I just have to promote how Wonderful Rushall Nursing Home is.
After a number of falls it was obvious that my Mom was not safe at home on her own. After many hours of searching for the right place Rushall Nursing Home stood out from the rest.
The way the staff lined
up and welcomed my Mom when she first arrived bought tears to my eyes.
Every single member of staff are Amazing and the care is off the scale Wonderful. The food is Fantastic and nothing is too much trouble.
The lounge is a lively hub with so much going on.
Mom got lucky by having a corner room with double aspect windows which has everything she could possibly want.
We have put in photos and items to make it feel like her old home which is totally encouraged.
I sleep easy now knowing Mom is Safe, warm and comfortable with 24/7 Wonderful Care.
Thank you from the Bottom of my Heart to every single member of Staff and to the Lovely resident black Labrador.

My brother was a resident at Rushall Care Home for about two years. Unfortunately, he spent almost the entire time in bed and refused to mix with the other residents. The staff and I encouraged him to mix with the other residents but he flatly refused. The staff were very kind and attentive despite
his sometimes obstinate ways. I cannot fault the care he received. He was given a large room and allowed to have his artwork around the walls. Perhaps the food could have been better but it is difficult to comment because he was very picky in what he ate.

Moved mom here hoping she would get some interaction with other residents and gain some enjoyment to her life as due to mobility issues and reliance on carers for everything at home her mood was very low. Unfortunately due to medical issues, this turned out not to be the case and she deteriorated much
quicker than we thought or hoped. I cannot fault any of the team at Rushall in looking after her and keeping us as a family updated with her care. Sadly her end came quicker than we thought or hoped but we were supported all the way through and Mom was treated with the utmost respect prior to and after her passing. Sadly she did not get to enjoy the many activities and benefits this care home had to offer but I would not hesitate to recommend to other families this is a place with a big heart and people who work there care about the residents and their families.

I am a carer of a service user with learning difficulties, who resided at Rushall Care Home in December 2024. He was extremely poorly when he arrived there. The staff were brilliant with him and showed him respect and were extremely caring. He had medical issues that they dealt with extremely well.
I really appreciated how they kept me informed of the severity of his condition, which mentally helps you prepare for the inevitable. The thing which I was most grateful for, was that they made two phone calls to me on the day that his breathing became delayed, which meant I was able to rush back in and be at his side when he took his last breaths and sadly passed. For this, I will be forever grateful. There were so many fantastic staff and unfortunately, I haven't got all of their names but remember two girls in particular and the brilliant Manager. Thank you so much to them all they are all a credit to the care home.

My aunt has been a resident here for fourteen months and her overall health and well-being has improved greatly. Her weight has increased and she joins in with all of the activities. She is much happier than when she was living alone and is always smiling when I visit her on a daily basis. I am told
she enjoys all her food and she particularly enjoys activities with the children from the nursery. The staff are always kind and treat the residents with dignity.

I am Phil Toomer-Smith the General Manager here at Rushall Care Home. I began my nursing career in 2006 at the University of Wolverhampton, and have since gained experience in Medical, Surgical, Trauma and Intensive care. I have a passion for delivering good palliative and dementia care services. Previous to nursing I worked in the tourism sector with airlines and hotels so I take customer service very seriously.


I have worked in the community with nursing homes for the last 10 years, starting as a nurse, through to deputy manager and general manager. I moved back to the Midlands in 2020 from the Channel Islands after working there for 7 years.


I enjoy developing my team and eagerly push training and education to ensure that the care delivered is up to date with current standards. I have continued with my education and since qualifying I have completed a BSc in nursing, a Diploma in nursing home management and a postgraduate Diploma in healthcare law and ethics.


I strive to lead a team of staff who enjoy their work and want to develop, as this will only benefit the care our residents receive.

Abi is our Deputy General Manager. Abi has been with us since September 2022 and qualified as an RNLD from Birmingham City University in 2019. This was due to supporting a friend through access to a nursing course and choosing to stay in nursing herself. Previous to nursing Abi has held various forms of employment including being a public house licensee and an NVQ sign-off. Abi gained her foundational clinical skills primarily in forensic psychiatric fields and found herself wanting to round off her skills further in all areas of nursing. Abi is driven to support and ease the burdens of living with complex care needs and supporting residents and their families through end-of-life care. Abi continues to drive quality improvement and positive change, by leading the nursing team and enhancing family communication here at Rushall. Since joining and leading care delivery here at Rushall Care Home Abi has formed strong therapeutic relations with all areas of the multidisciplinary team based here in Walsall.

Kirstie Leadbeater has been with us here at Rushall Care Home since 2022. She comes to us with a wealth of previous experience including hospitality and the care industry. Kirstie also brings her dog Jax to work to promote enhanced holistic care for our residents

Tracey qualified from the University of Wolverhampton as an RGN in 2019, previous to this she was a hairdresser and a carer. Tracey always thought she wasn’t clever enough to go to University, but we are so very pleased that she did.

Hi, I’m John, I came to Rushall Care Home in 2020. I previously worked at Nicholl Food Group as a site maintenance manager. I had decided to take it easier and join Rushall to work 3 days a week with zero pressure. Who knew that I’d end up supporting the home through a whole home rejuvenation? If we aren’t throwing it out, we’re painting it or moving it, but I’m having a lot of fun. My brother works for one of our sister homes Woodgreen Nursing Home - Wednesbury now too.

My name is Michelle, I am the Head Chef here at Rushall, I have been here since 2002. I started in catering completing a YTS training scheme at Springfield Brewry in Wolverhampton. I moved on to Bilston College to complete numerous City and Guilds and ULCI pastry courses. I have previous waitressing skills and Duty Manager skills at Hilton Park. I never planned to stay here at Rushall, yet I have now been here 18 years and I am very happy here. I love interacting with the residents, providing meals which are warm and nutritious, on a style of home from home. My team and I prepare and serve meals for various dietary requirements, in a consistency which maintains safety and ensure the enjoyablilty of eating each day.

My name is Lynn, I have been here at Rushall for many years. I started as a carer in 1992, as the housekeeper was leaving I showed an interest in becoming the new Head Housekeeper. I have been completing this role for 5-6 years now. I lead a team of 4 staff to ensure that the home is presented to its best ability. I like all aspects of my job, this includes making sure that the house is nice and clean and tidy. I particualry ensure the interaction with the residents and thier families.

I provided activities through Girl Guiding, I was a qualified leader for 10 years, mainly with Rainbows (5-7 years of age). I have previously worked within a residential home catering to the needs of EMI placement, I did this for four and half years while I was studying a BSc in Animal behavior and wildlife conservation. I fell in love with providing activity provision. I saw the job become available here at Rushall and love working here.Whilst working here at Rushall I was nominated for the West Midlands Care Association Excellence in Care. My favourite thing about my job is how unique each resident is and providing person centred support for each resident.

I started working for Trust Forte hotels in 1985 to complete my kitchen training and completed my City & Guilds Catering Level 2 with Walsall College. I worked my way up to Sous Chef and completed my hotel career on The Pass, leaving in 2004. I came to Rushall Care Home 16 years ago and I am very happy here.

Hi Rushall, my name is Jennie and I have worked here at Rushall for 7 years now. I initially started as a carer, but I am now working as a nurses assistant and lead the care team.


I love working with residents and the families, thier needs are my first concern. Supporting my carers is next on my list. I enjoy delivering good palliative care, but do struggle with the emotional side of things.


I really enjoy working here at Rushall we have such a family atmosphere here. I could not recommend our home enough.

My name is Sandra, I’ve been working here at Rushall since February 2020, exactly a year now. Before working here I was an RMN/EMN, I started my nurse training in 1979 at St Matthews in Burntwood, I continued to work at St Matthews and the George Bryan centre after I qualified. I retired in 2016 but got bored. When I saw a vacancy here at Rushall I eagerly applied and was successful. I really love working here, meeting the residents and staff and having a good time.
