The care from the staff whilst looking after my sister cannot be described in any other words than fantastic. All of our questions were answered. Behaviour was explained to me and everyone had time for us and my sister, who was the important one. From the entertainment kitchen staff, no stone was left unturned. A great team effort by everyone at the home. God bless you all.

From the moment our dad arrived in October until he passed away in February the care he received was excellent. Management, administration, Nurses, carers , cleaners, cooks, housekeeping, maintenance, hairdresser made such a difference. We felt safe knowing he was looked after.
Our mother was made very welcome. She loved chatting to you all and interacting with everyone. It made a sad time more bearable, she misses her daily visits.
We appreciated how hard the carers worked and the younger carers need to apply their enthusiasm to the NHS!

The family are grateful for the care he received and kind words. To the Nurses who always answered our questions. Thanks to the carers who looked after us all on the last few days and nights. To the night sister who was there on his last night. She was very kind and patient with us all being there. Thankfully he passed away peacefully with his family by his side. It's just sad that you never knew what a genuinely lovely man he was.

All staff at the home are professional, caring from cleaning staff to management. Food is all freshly cooked and very appetizing. If I ever have to go into care I would hope it will be the same care home.

I never normally leave reviews but I just have to promote how Wonderful Rushall Nursing Home is.
After a number of falls it was obvious that my Mom was not safe at home on her own. After many hours of searching for the right place Rushall Nursing Home stood out from the rest.
The way the staff lined up and welcomed my Mom when she first arrived bought tears to my eyes.
Every single member of staff are Amazing and the care is off the scale Wonderful. The food is Fantastic and nothing is too much trouble.
The lounge is a lively hub with so much going on.
Mom got lucky by having a corner room with double aspect windows which has everything she could possibly want.
We have put in photos and items to make it feel like her old home which is totally encouraged.
I sleep easy now knowing Mom is Safe, warm and comfortable with 24/7 Wonderful Care.
Thank you from the Bottom of my Heart to every single member of Staff and to the Lovely resident black Labrador.

God Bless you All.

My brother was a resident at Rushall Care Home for about two years. Unfortunately, he spent almost the entire time in bed and refused to mix with the other residents. The staff and I encouraged him to mix with the other residents but he flatly refused. The staff were very kind and attentive despite his sometimes obstinate ways. I cannot fault the care he received. He was given a large room and allowed to have his artwork around the walls. Perhaps the food could have been better but it is difficult to comment because he was very picky in what he ate.

Moved mom here hoping she would get some interaction with other residents and gain some enjoyment to her life as due to mobility issues and reliance on carers for everything at home her mood was very low. Unfortunately due to medical issues, this turned out not to be the case and she deteriorated much quicker than we thought or hoped. I cannot fault any of the team at Rushall in looking after her and keeping us as a family updated with her care. Sadly her end came quicker than we thought or hoped but we were supported all the way through and Mom was treated with the utmost respect prior to and after her passing. Sadly she did not get to enjoy the many activities and benefits this care home had to offer but I would not hesitate to recommend to other families this is a place with a big heart and people who work there care about the residents and their families.

I am a carer of a service user with learning difficulties, who resided at Rushall Care Home in December 2024. He was extremely poorly when he arrived there. The staff were brilliant with him and showed him respect and were extremely caring. He had medical issues that they dealt with extremely well. I really appreciated how they kept me informed of the severity of his condition, which mentally helps you prepare for the inevitable. The thing which I was most grateful for, was that they made two phone calls to me on the day that his breathing became delayed, which meant I was able to rush back in and be at his side when he took his last breaths and sadly passed. For this, I will be forever grateful. There were so many fantastic staff and unfortunately, I haven't got all of their names but remember two girls in particular and the brilliant Manager. Thank you so much to them all they are all a credit to the care home.

My aunt has been a resident here for fourteen months and her overall health and well-being has improved greatly. Her weight has increased and she joins in with all of the activities. She is much happier than when she was living alone and is always smiling when I visit her on a daily basis. I am told she enjoys all her food and she particularly enjoys activities with the children from the nursery. The staff are always kind and treat the residents with dignity.

In our experience of visiting our friend in Rushall:

The staff are always so helpful and reassuring. The activities are amazing, there is always something going on for all the residents. They are always having a laugh and participating in things from exercises to bingo to sitting and enjoying singers there is something for everybody. Our friend is happy and settled which is the main thing, and in the bargain the food is excellent. A lovely homely atmosphere exists in this care home.

Mom was a resident at Rushall for 5 years. They were 5 years filled with love, respect, laughter, and care. Having vascular dementia meant that part of her life was taken from her. Every member of the team treated her with dignity, patience, and understanding.
Her care was amazing. We were always informed about moms' physical and mental health and wellbeing. Because the team spent time getting to know Mom, they were able to spot any changes and react accordingly. This meant that my sister and I were able to relax and enjoy time with Mom without any concerns.
From day one, Mom, ourselves, and our families were welcomed into the Rushall family.
Mom sadly passed away in October. The team were once again amazing. They not only cared for Mom during her final days but also cared for us. It was evident how much they loved and respected her.

Rushall is an amazing home run by incredibly caring, knowledgeable & loving people. Thank you, team Rushall for helping create such fabulous memories.

Our mom lived at Rushall Care Home for the last two and a half years. Sadly she passed away in August aged 93 years. Right from day one we felt the love and care of this home. The staff are absolutely amazing in every aspect and my mom loved them all. Nothing is too much trouble and they not only look after the resident but their families as well. In Mom's last days, we were obviously heartbroken but the care and compassion shown to us was just outstanding. I would have no hesitation in recommending this Care Home 100% to anyone looking for a home for their loved ones. This is the gold standard of care which all Care Homes should be striving to achieve. Well done team Rushall.

The care home was simply excellent. The facilities were good, the food excellent and the rooms comfortable.
However, what marks this home out as exceptional is the staff. They could not have done more for the care of my Dad in his final few months. They made him feel safe, they made him laugh and they made his final days comfortable and dignified.

I would have no hesitation recommending this facility to anyone who needs to be looked after by wonderful people.

Mom spent the last 2 and a half years of her life in this brilliant home until she passed away on 7 July. I was consulted about her care throughout and she was always treated with dignity and respect. Everything was done in Mom's best interests so I was confident in the care she received. Visitors were always welcomed and made to feel at home. I will never be able to thank all the hardworking staff enough for the love and care she was given. They were just like her family for the time she spent here. I would highly recommend Rushall to anyone looking for a place for a loved one.

My sister was admitted as a palliative care patient. We were quite concerned about how she would deal with this but are grateful to say that, from the initial phone call with the manager, and throughout her care, every person that we have spoken to or met has been reassuring, informative, understanding and, above all, caring. Everyone has made the utmost effort to ensure that my sister was, comfortable, settled and at peace and has made us, as a family, feel very welcome and involved. I am extremely grateful for the outstanding care that she experienced in her final weeks and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Rushall Care Home.

After seeing the care my uncle received here in 2021/2022 my auntie chose to come to this care home herself. Since arriving in January she has been cared for daily by the most polite and loving staff members and really enjoyed the Farm on Wheels day which really perked her up. I really can't thank the team enough for everything that you're doing for her and for even taking the time to make my children feel welcome and special every time we visit. A special shout out to one member of staff in particular who goes above and beyond for everyone who walks through the door and always has a colouring book and pens up her sleeve for when the kids come. Absolutely beautiful people. Thank you!

My aunt spent the last 7 months in Rushall Care Home, and everyone there made this time a happy one for her, she immediately settled and made friends, and we found all the staff friendly and extremely helpful, from the first day until she recently passed away they couldn’t have done more to make her time there enjoyable, and we’ll always be grateful for the dignified and respectful ending of her life.

We would recommend the home to anyone considering a facility for a family member.

I am Phil Toomer-Smith the General Manager here at Rushall Care Home. I began my nursing career in 2006 at the University of Wolverhampton, and have since gained experience in Medical, Surgical, Trauma and Intensive care. I have a passion for delivering good palliative and dementia care services. Previous to nursing I worked in the tourism sector with airlines and hotels so I take customer service very seriously.

I have worked in the community with nursing homes for the last 10 years, starting as a nurse, through to deputy manager and general manager. I moved back to the Midlands in 2020 from the Channel Islands after working there for 7 years.

I enjoy developing my team and eagerly push training and education to ensure that the care delivered is up to date with current standards. I have continued with my education and since qualifying I have completed a BSc in nursing, a Diploma in nursing home management and a postgraduate Diploma in healthcare law and ethics.

I strive to lead a team of staff who enjoy their work and want to develop, as this will only benefit the care our residents receive.

Abi gained her foundational clinical skills primarily in forensic psychiatric fields and found herself wanting to round off her skills further in all areas of nursing. Abi continues to drive quality improvement and positive change, by leading the nursing team and enhancing family communication here at Rushall. Hi, I’m Katy, I’m 17 years old, at the moment I’m exploring future career ideas and really fancy working in healthcare. I have friends and family who work here. The General Manager Phil gave me the opportunity to start in a bank position, I have now been given contracted hours. I would like to think that I might become a nurse. Watch this space.

Hi, my name is Tracy, I started here at Rushall as a carer in November 2019, I have worked as a carer for over 14 years now. I love my job and my residents, especially keeping them happy and safe through this global covid pandemic. We are one big happy family.

Sandra Job Title:Housekeeping.Joined: 2020

My name is Sandra, I’ve been working here at Rushall since February 2020, exactly a year now. Before working here I was an RMN/EMN, I started my nurse training in 1979 at St Matthews in Burntwood, I continued to work at St Matthews and the George Bryan centre after I qualified. I retired in 2016 but got bored. When I saw a vacancy here at Rushall I eagerly applied and was successful. I really love working here, meeting the residents and staff and having a good time.
