My mom went into the home on 1st December 2023. She died on 3rd February 2024. My mom was so happy and comfortable. We can't thank all the staff enough for the care they gave my mom. Everyone is one big family. Nothing was too much. They are all amazing.

This home has been amazing to my mom and us as a family, the support I received is second to none! The best thing is it's genuine. I can't thank them enough. My mom sadly passed away 26/12/23, right to the very end, the staff looked after my mom and us like family. The manager always had a hug for us, the assistant manager was the same, the lady in the office was so lovely and the nurses especially, were incredible, with me, to the bitter end the night mom passed. The night nurse was an amazing man. The carers are just amazing, wish I could name them, you are the best and such a huge part of my life like my family, forever! The kitchen staff are brilliant, helpful lovely supportive, cleaning staff lovely again very supportive and all hard working. Last but not least entertainment coordinator, you do such a great job so many fun times summer spring, autumn winter always something happening putting residents first with the help of the staff, I miss you all that's why I still pop in. Thank you all.

I was there for 11 months. I gave it 2 as I can't fault the kitchen, domestic and some carers. The management was appalling though. As a paying resident, you are meant to feel as if staff work in your home. Not at all it is more like you live in their place of work. The manager once grabbed my wheelchair and said get to your room. Also, he slammed the office door on me shouting I'm the general manager I do as I want. No, go away. A resident's daughter witnessed all this. Anyway, I was taken to hospital once as I am high risk having 3 operations on a brain tumour and 6 weeks of radiotherapy. I was discharged and not allowed to enter and today my room has been sold. I had to get family to collect all my belongings (TV, clothes, even my own wifi router on pay monthly sim). Also, I've still not had my resident fund money returned 6 months later. If you are thinking of leaving a family member with no capacity there please avoid!

The care my 98-year-old mom received at Rushall Care Home was simply the very best she could have had and we could have hoped for. The staff were amazing carers and nothing was too much trouble. She couldn’t have spent the last 2 weeks of her life in a better place. We would 100% recommend this care home.

I’m a friend of a resident at Rushall Care Home and although, at first, I felt upset when I heard about her going into a care home when she became unwell, I can say with my hand on my heart that she has received and continues to receive the highest standard of care over the eight years of being there. The staff are friendly, understanding, patient and pleasant. The nurses make her feel listened to and comforted just as much as the carers do, which reassures my friend. Before she became unwell, she was always up for a laugh, the first on the dance floor and loved a Bacardi or Baileys. So to see her smiling when I see her makes me happy to know that she’s being cared for as she should and she’s also still able to enjoy the odd glass of Bacardi or Baileys too. The activities aren’t just kept to the lounge areas either, the home offers a lot of animal therapy, which is amazing! If I had to point someone in the right direction for a care home I would 100% point them to Rushall Care Home.

My father was extremely poorly, and following several weeks in hospital and due to his care needs, he was transferred to Rushall Care Home in December 23. As a family, we expected him to die in the care home, but my dad had expressed a wish to die in his own home, and my mom wanted the same for him.

It was my first experience in a care home, so I didn’t know what to expect, and I was a little apprehensive. I needn’t have worried though. The care was absolutely fantastic. From the start, my dad was treated with the respect and dignity he deserved. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, not just to my dad but to us as family members - this included the careers, nurses, manager, kitchen staff and the lady who does the laundry. They all went above and beyond, and nothing was too much trouble. The care was fantastic, and after a week, they’d stabilized my dad well enough for him to go home so he could spend his final days at home as per his wishes. Dad passed away peacefully on 19th December.

My mom has been in Rushall Care Home for over 18 months. The staff look after her really well and are very pleasant. My dad goes to visit every day, and they are equally good to my dad. We are happy with her care and know when we leave her, she will be looked after. Anytime she is not feeling well, nurses always know what to do.

Rushall Care home staff, team Rushall, really do care. They can't do enough for my sister and her family. We are all welcomed with big smiles and hugs every time we visit. They listen to what we have to say and act on any requests we have, if possible. I couldn't ask for a better place for my sister now that she can't live at home with her husband. I would highly recommend the home to anyone who needs this sort of care/nursing. Well done, team Rushall.

It is an emotional, scary and very hard decision to make to have your loved ones cared for away from their home. It certainly was for us.
The kindness and compassion shown to us were second to none and have continued throughout Mum’s stay.
The care Mum receives is wonderful. The staff all call her by her name, show her love and care and have the utmost patience with her.
The manager and staff are all approachable - we never feel like we are being a nuisance even though they are busy. They are always friendly and helpful.

Thank you, team Rushall. You are all amazing, and we will be forever grateful to you.

We as a family couldn't wish for a better home to care for our mom, on her end of life journey, which ended on the 1st of December 23. The staff were brilliant and always did their best to see to mom's and our needs. Even though Mom only spent a month there it totally rebooted her and was sitting up eating on her own and able to walk with Aid, which she could not do before going. Within days she was playing games in their communal room with the rest of the residents and staff. I was totally taken aback on how she was a changed person if only for the short time she had spent there. Thank you all and thank you for being there for us too, and Mom.

Outstanding service to residents delivered by the engaged and caring staff that are well managed and clearly enjoy their roles. My aunt received personal and professional care for the four years she was here. Communication with me regarding her care was always in her best interest. She was very happy during her time there, and she was nursed with tenderness and empathy in her final palliative stage.

I just want to express how incredibly grateful I am to the wonderful team at Rushall for taking care of Dad with such kindness and devotion. Dad took up residence in April 2019 suffering from symptoms of dementia and was no longer able to live independently which he really struggled to come to terms with. The standard of day-to-day care, the food and the amazing range of activities provided in the home are truly amazing. As soon as you walk through the door, you immediately feel like you are at home, with a warm welcome, a smile or a hug when you need one. The staff really do treat each resident like a member of their own family so you can rest assured that your loved one is in safe hands. As Dad’s health deteriorated, the dedicated nursing team were fully equipped to ensure that he received the appropriate medication and end-of-life care, meaning that he was able to spend his final days in familiar surroundings and with dignity. Thank you so much to the manager and his amazing team.

Mom has been at Rushall Care Home for the past six and a half years, until she recently passed away.

Carers who welcomed Mom into the home were there for her at the end, having cared for her throughout her time at Rushall. They knew her well and understood her needs, they knew what worked for Mom and what didn't. Mom preferred to stay in her room so very often activities were taken to her to ensure she was included in as much as possible.

Mom always enjoyed her food and while at Rushall she received good and varied meals, usually sending back empty plates.

The staff were always approachable and supportive, no matter what. We have always been made very welcome. Staff have always talked to us about issues as they have arisen and we have always had input into mom's care.

Would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for a good, caring, happy environment.

Wow what can I say, only the biggest thank you for having my brother in this fantastic home, who has settled well. My brother is poor now and needs to rest and be in a peaceful, safe environment and he is in just the place. It has took many years to find somewhere where I can finally relax a bit myself, knowing he is well looked after. All staff are fantastic, helpful and professional and good humoured. As a retired nurse myself I know excellent standards when I see them. Love you all.

My 90-year-old mum has been at Rushall Care Home for six and a half years. We have seen staff come and go but the team there now are spot on! My mum has had her ups and downs and the manager and his team have been wonderful. They listen, guide you and deal with everything that comes along. They accept if they don’t have something quite right but they have such a strong team and systems in place that they soon sort it.
Every member of staff will listen to any concern you have, sort it or send you in the right direction to make sure everyone is happy.
Mum has recently passed away, of course, a very difficult time for us but every single member of staff helped us through it. I wouldn’t have wanted Mum to be anywhere other than Rushall.
I wholeheartedly trusted them with my mum.
The staff at Rushall are a fantastic team with the residents' needs at the heart of everything they do.

I shout out from the rooftops my praise to them all!

Dad is receiving amazing care from regular carers who know him well. Despite his dementia, Dad has retained his humour and occasional banter and the carers have identified how to use this to most engage Dad. Care is therefore carried out in a person-centred way. Meals are varied, balanced and of the appropriate texture for Dad to enjoy. When unwell, with reduced appetite, supplements have been introduced. There are lots of activities adapted to meet all residents' individual needs and therefore inclusive of all. The home is welcoming and friendly with good professional knowledge. Health needs have been picked up and responded to swiftly. Watching a loved one navigate dementia has impacted on my well-being, staff recognise this and are caring to family too. I can't thank all of the staff enough for their meaningful, thoughtful care. Absolutely recommend this home-from-home.

I am Phil Toomer-Smith the General Manager here at Rushall Care Home. I began my nursing career in 2006 at the University of Wolverhampton, and have since gained experience in Medical, Surgical, Trauma and Intensive care. I have a passion for delivering good palliative and dementia care services. Previous to nursing I worked in the tourism sector with airlines and hotels so I take customer service very seriously.

I have worked in the community with nursing homes for the last 10 years, starting as a nurse, through to deputy manager and general manager. I moved back to the Midlands in 2020 from the Channel Islands after working there for 7 years.

I enjoy developing my team and eagerly push training and education to ensure that the care delivered is up to date with current standards. I have continued with my education and since qualifying I have completed a BSc in nursing, a Diploma in nursing home management and a postgraduate Diploma in healthcare law and ethics.

I strive to lead a team of staff who enjoy their work and want to develop, as this will only benefit the care our residents receive.

Working at Rushall is like my second family.

Hi all, my name is Sam, I’m 28 and I started here at Rushall in 2016. Family is very important me, and I have previously studied childcare. I love Rushall very much, I eagerly returned after my maternity leave. Having my little boy means that I can only work once a week, and extra when I can. I treat all of the residents as my own family. I am very bubbly, even after a long night shift.

Hi all, I’ve worked here at Rushall since 2017, previously to working here I’ve been a support worker with people who have learning difficulties. Working at Rushall is close to my own family home, and perfect for doing the school run with my kids. I enjoy every day, helping residents and supporting end of life care. When my children are older, I intend on climbing the career ladder as I love to train and expand on my knowledge.

Hi, I’m Katy, I’m 17 years old, at the moment I’m exploring future career ideas and really fancy working in healthcare. I have friends and family who work here. The General Manager Phil gave me the opportunity to start in a bank position, I have now been given contracted hours. I would like to think that I might become a nurse. Watch this space.

Before working here I was an RMN/EMN, I started my nurse training in 1979 at St Matthews in Burntwood, I continued to work at St Matthews and the George Bryan centre after I qualified. I retired in 2016 but got bored. When I saw a vacancy here at Rushall I eagerly applied and was successful. I really love working here, meeting the residents and staff and having a good time.
