Designed to offer maximum comfort in a cosy environment, residents benefit from a range of places to relax and socialise. The pretty gardens and patio are an ideal spot for catching up with family and friends and many residents take pleasure in hobbies, including baking, writing, gardening, dancing, painting, quizzes and playing chess.

Happy that Mum is well cared for. Activities are marked lower, as it has taken a long time to find her a chair. Not sure how often she is included in community activities, despite her complex needs. The manager and staff are friendly and caring.

We had our concerns about how my mother would cope with being in the care home, as she had been cared for at home for many years but she settled in very quickly. All the staff are amazing and do all they can to make my mother comfortable and happy. She has been at Ash Grange Care Home for over four
months now and joining in with the activities, which we thought was not possible and it's a relief to know she is happy.

My daughter, son and I are really pleased with the attention my husband and father get. The staff are so pleasant, the food looks good and serviced nice, no problems if you can eat well. My husband says the bed is really comfortable, the room is very clean and tidy

The experience at Ash Grange is positive. All areas of care are professionally met by all staff, who are approachable, caring and listen to both residents and family. Dietary needs are met with fresh wholesome foods with a good variety to choose from and well presented. Activities in the day room is
short and could be extended into residents' rooms for those who cannot access the day rooms. Residents' rooms are airy, kept clean, warm and furniture is kept tidy and maintained. Security is good and works well. Personal items are kept safe and clean e.g photos and TV. Residents' safety and care are individually tailored.

A small compact care home with staff that have huge hearts! Because the home is small the carers/nurses/staff can get around to all the residents quickly and efficiently. The staff caring for my mom are exceptional and caring and mom has grown fond of them. A particular nurse has to be mentioned as
she keeps me regularly informed due to me living in Ireland.

Mom was transferred to Ash Grange Care Home from hospital, for end-of-life care. I couldn't fault the care and attention she received and was a very positive experience. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The staff provided extra support with feeding her and chatting (my mom's favourite
pass time!). The room was clean and tidy, but when the cleaners came to clean Mom offered to show them how to clean properly (her second favourite pass time!). Think they took it in their stride! I spent long hours at the care home during her final days, they made me feel extremely welcome and that it was never too much trouble with me being present. It was disappointing for me that Mom wasn't in better health when she arrived because I feel that she would have embraced it. This seemed to be an excellent care home, although Mom's stay was cut quite short they seemed to make residents feel relaxed and welcome, and I felt looked after, and have nothing but praise for them.

My sister was at Ash Grange to receive end of life care for 4 months. This is an exceptionally well run care home - clean, safe, and secure. As my sister's condition deteriorated I was allowed to visit her bedroom upstairs instead of the normal meeting room. There is an air of calm about the building
and I am full of admiration for the amazing work that the staff do. They are hardworking, always cheerful, and build up excellent relationships with the patients.

“Kind care to me means listening and being honest, and showing compassion in the care that we deliver. It means caring for our residents as individuals with their own unique needs and way of living.”


As a Registered Nurse, Ure has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for Residents.


Having worked for HC-One since 2019, Ure closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She said:


“I believe in giving wholesome care to residents because when they are in our care, we must be dedicated to every aspect of their needs. We are able to get them involved and help them relive some of their cherished memories and make them feel part of our community. It’s like being part of a community: making a positive impact on the general well-being of people by being caring, treating them with respect and kindness, and being involved in their lives.”


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Ure remarked:


“Working with the elderly and caring for them in their final days is very special. I enjoy learning about the lives of our residents and am always pleased to reminisce with them and their loved ones and get a glimpse into their lives before their time with us at Ash Grange.


My name badge says: ‘Treasure Life’ because life is precious and has to be cherished, nourished, and enjoyed. We strive to enable our residents to continue to experience treasured moments. It is heart-warming and fills my heart with pride knowing that my team and I have made a positive impact in a resident or their loved one’s lives.”


Ure feels she has achieved much during her career, with her proudest achievement being her career progression from an internationally trained pre-registered nurse in September 2022 to becoming a registered home manager in October 2023. She also achieved a First-Class degree at the University of Derby whilst also working full-time.


Outside of work, Ure enjoys family time, watching movies, and reading books.
