Designed to offer maximum comfort in a cosy environment, residents benefit from a range of places to relax and socialise. The pretty gardens and patio are an ideal spot for catching up with family and friends and many residents take pleasure in hobbies, including baking, writing, gardening, dancing, painting, quizzes and playing chess.

Ash Grange also offers a range of lovely dining areas where residents can relax and enjoy meal times, whether dining alone, with other residents or welcoming friends and family. The catering team prides itself on making mealtimes a sociable and stimulating part of each day, providing an enjoyable experience for all residents.

My mum has been a resident at Ash Grange for about six months. In that time she has always been treated with care and dignity. The staff go out of their way to ensure she is well cared for. She enjoys her food and says the meals are wonderful. Ash Grange is ideal for her and we would recommend it to

My dad was admitted from the hospital at the beginning of June. Home has a very welcoming feel. Nice and bright furnishings, very clean and tidy. Staff are lovely and friendly. I feel dad is being well looked after.

It has to be said that the D-day celebrations at Ash Grange are second to none. It has not just happened. It has been a culmination of hard work, change, teamwork and devotion to duty over the past 6-12 months. Credit must not only go to higher management but to middle management and carers. There has
been a huge team effort here. This hasn't gone unnoticed, particularly with people like myself.
It is most important to thank people for what they have done and this I do gladly. Please keep it going. Can't wait to see the improvements which I know are going to come!

My grandmother has been in Ash Grange for nearly a year now and cannot complain about a single thing. The home always looks fresh and clean. My grandmother always looks respectable, the carers are really pleasant. There are activities going on all the time, whether or not my nanna understands what's
going on she is always made welcome and encouraged to join in. The meal times there are amazing and always food and snacks to hand.

The overall level of care for my father has remained good but there has been far too many changes in staff which unsettles my father and at times, staff numbers do not seem adequate leading to periods of untidiness which were not present before an inspection. Some deterioration in standards.

My sister and her husband are both residents here at Ash Grange. I can only say they are looked after like personal family by staff at all levels.
It is my belief that my sister would not be with us now if it was not for the care and attention shown by the staff.

While only in Ash Grange for a short time receiving palliative care, the staff were helpful, pleasant and considerate to all Mom's needs and treated her with dignity. The room was always clean and tidy and the staff kept making sure that all her needs were met. Any queries or questions we had were answered
by the staff and we were made to feel welcome whenever we attended.

My experience is good. A few things that could do with improvement is attending to resident's buzzer when residents need help. Answering front door quicker or giving resident's family code to door. Staff helpful and pleasant.

Unfortunately, we are unable to give out the door codes for any external doors, I have asked that the staff strive to answer the doorbell in a timely manner.

Ash Grange has a very friendly atmosphere and the care is good. If you have any issues, they do their best to put them right. It has recently been refurbished and it is like home from home. My husband has been here 4 years and seems very content.

Dad has been at Ash Grange now for 2 1/2 years, and apart from a few niggles, which have easily been solved, his care has been second to none.


All staff are friendly and very helpful in all aspects of Dad's care.


Nurses are excellent, they seem on top of their jobs, and any queries regarding issues

with Dad are quickly dealt with.

“Kind care to me means listening and being honest, and showing compassion in the care that we deliver. It means caring for our residents as individuals with their own unique needs and way of living.”


As a Registered Nurse, Ure has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for Residents.


Having worked for HC-One since 2019, Ure closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She said:


“I believe in giving wholesome care to residents because when they are in our care, we must be dedicated to every aspect of their needs. We are able to get them involved and help them relive some of their cherished memories and make them feel part of our community. It’s like being part of a community: making a positive impact on the general well-being of people by being caring, treating them with respect and kindness, and being involved in their lives.”


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Ure remarked:


“Working with the elderly and caring for them in their final days is very special. I enjoy learning about the lives of our residents and am always pleased to reminisce with them and their loved ones and get a glimpse into their lives before their time with us at Ash Grange.


My name badge says: ‘Treasure Life’ because life is precious and has to be cherished, nourished, and enjoyed. We strive to enable our residents to continue to experience treasured moments. It is heart-warming and fills my heart with pride knowing that my team and I have made a positive impact in a resident or their loved one’s lives.”


Ure feels she has achieved much during her career, with her proudest achievement being her career progression from an internationally trained pre-registered nurse in September 2022 to becoming a registered home manager in October 2023. She also achieved a First-Class degree at the University of Derby whilst also working full-time.


Outside of work, Ure enjoys family time, watching movies, and reading books.
