This care home is very good and all staff are helpful.
My mother has been at Ash Grange for one week and I am compelled to share with others the positive experience we are both experiencing. The nurses are very professional and patient always. The caring staff are just that - caring, kind and helpful. They are wonderful. The kitchen staff have made my mother so happy with their cooking. At the heart are the admin and well-being staff. Thank you.
My mum has been in Ash Grange now for several weeks and the care and dignity the staff provide is amazing. My mum is so happy and was made to feel welcome. She settled very well. The staff are amazing.
They look after my mom so well she settled in and was made to feel welcome although mom was reluctant to go into care it became inevitable the second day she was there she rang me and said why was I so worried it's lovely here and the staff are lovely.
Very hard working, caring, and committed staff. Facilities very good and the cleanliness is excellent. The food is well prepared with a good choice. The facilities in personal rooms are adequate.
I would like to send my thanks to all the staff who kept us fully informed of any changes in Dad's condition, his end of life care was excellent. Thank you all again.
Our Mother is a resident at Ash Grange Care Home. She has always been treated with the utmost respect and dignity with the outstanding care she receives each day. This gives my sister, brother and myself peace of mind knowing she is happy and safe.
My mother has been a resident for over two years and the care has been outstanding from every member of staff from day one to the present day. I have nothing but praise, for all the staff, and would recommend the home to anybody.
I would like to send my thanks to the whole team at Ash Grange, your care and support for my Grandad was above and beyond every day that he was in your care. In 18 months you welcomed Grandad into your family and made his time there not just easier for him but for me too, I knew he was safe and well looked after. It was like he had a new lease on life, he thrived with the support that he received from the care team and also the activities co-coordinators. The team enabled him to be a little bit independent which is one of the things he struggled with when he moved to Ash Grange. The assistant manager and the team did so much for him in the time he was there and were there for him not just on the good days but the bad days too. I will be forever grateful for the time you all spent making him feel loved. We/he appreciated every one of you. I would highly recommend Ash Grange as they are not just a care team they are the family that can not be there 24/7. Best wishes to you all.
Ash Grange is a lovely care home, my mom spent her last 18 months of life there. She was always well looked after by the staff and we were able to visit anytime (apart from the pandemic). She had a grade 4 bedsore when she first went there, and it was only with this, that it healed. The staff are lovely. Would recommend to family and friends. No problems at all. Keep up the good work.
Very satisfied with the care/nursing my father is receiving at Ash Grange Care Home. My father was very confused and underweight when admitted to the home after a long period in hospital. My father with support and encouragement from the staff has settled into the home. I am reassured my dad is well cared for. Thank you.
My brother in law spent 4 days at this home before he passed away. During that time I visited and had a warm welcome, was extremely satisfied with everything I saw, my brother in law was as comfortable as could be expected and I was kept informed every step of the way. The undertakers we used even passed comment to me to give credit to the home for their prompt and professional handling of handing my brother in law over to them. They reported he was clean and dressed appropriately for collection and were impressed by the professionalism of the staff. Thank you.
Ash Grange is a friendly caring home, all the staff are very nice and welcoming, during the covid pandemic the home have kept families updated on everything which is reassuring and a comfort to know my friend is being cared for and is happy.
During Covid we have been able to see my dear friend via the window of the home. However, staff have been very kind and thoughtful and have kept me updated and always been polite and courteous when calling. My friend appears happy at Ash Grange and she is safe and well in a Cofid-free home. Hopefully, I will see my friend soon but I am content and happy knowing she is safe.
Care home is well presented and very clean and safe.
It has been a real delight to visit Ash Grange, over the past two weeks. To be able to sit with my wife in reception, mask and all, has been a super experience. She looks so well. The staff have clearly worked so hard, as a team, to keep a virus free home which is safe to visit. Cannot possibly ask for any more. The staff are kind and considerate and truly have the welfare of all the residents at heart.
Since my grandmother moved into Ash Grange six months ago, I feel like I have got my grandmother back. Not only has her health improved, but her mental well being has also improved. The home has managed to remain COVID free, which is truly amazing. I cannot thank everyone enough.
Thank you
When she went in there in September last year, she was frail having just recovered from a broken hip, I was told she would not walk again and was also diagnosed with Dementia.
The staff have worked really hard to settle mom, and although the dementia will never go away, mom is interacting with people and has put over a stone on in weight. (Mom is 95) Mom is also walking with a frame.
I am also in awe of the way they have cared for the residents in this trying time keeping the virus at bay and keeping them all so well.
I can not thank them enough and in my opinion, deserve to have their achievements shouted from the rooftops.
What amazing people they are and I will always be in their debt.
In these unprecedented times it’s comforting to know that our mom is being well cared for. The staff at Ash Grange are doing the best they can in a difficult situation keeping our loved ones safe and well. Myself and my brother want to thank all the staff for their hard work.

What does ‘kindness’ and ‘kind care’ mean to you?
“Kind care to me means listening and being honest, and showing compassion in the care that we deliver. It means caring for our residents as individuals with their own unique needs and way of living.”
As a Registered Nurse, Ure has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for Residents.
Having worked for HC-One since 2019, Ure closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.
She said:
“I believe in giving wholesome care to residents because when they are in our care, we must be dedicated to every aspect of their needs. We are able to get them involved and help them relive some of their cherished memories and make them feel part of our community. It’s like being part of a community: making a positive impact on the general well-being of people by being caring, treating them with respect and kindness, and being involved in their lives.”
When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Ure remarked:
“Working with the elderly and caring for them in their final days is very special. I enjoy learning about the lives of our residents and am always pleased to reminisce with them and their loved ones and get a glimpse into their lives before their time with us at Ash Grange.
My name badge says: ‘Treasure Life’ because life is precious and has to be cherished, nourished, and enjoyed. We strive to enable our residents to continue to experience treasured moments. It is heart-warming and fills my heart with pride knowing that my team and I have made a positive impact in a resident or their loved one’s lives.”
Ure feels she has achieved much during her career, with her proudest achievement being her career progression from an internationally trained pre-registered nurse in September 2022 to becoming a registered home manager in October 2023. She also achieved a First-Class degree at the University of Derby whilst also working full-time.
Outside of work, Ure enjoys family time, watching movies, and reading books.
