This is the perfect home for my wife and partner of over 60 years. The staff are very friendly and provide a truly relaxing environment. My wife has developed a close relationship with the staff and helps them in the kitchen and garden. She enjoys complete freedom within the home which is a much safer place than our own home. Thanks to all the staff.

My mother-in-law has been at Broomy Hill for approximately 2 years, her care has been great and our family has seen a much improved condition. Having come to Broomy from another "care" home, which allowed a broken hip and ungradable pressure sore to go untreated! My mother-in-law is a wonderful lady who is finally getting the care she deserves. The staff are very engaging and every aspect of her care, dignity, health, and wealth of experience is catered for. We got my mother-in-law a special postural pressure relief tilt-in-space chair, some of the chairs don't give postural support for the residents. Communal areas could be more homely with nicer furnishings and pictures. Activities displayed on the noticeboard, regular engagement activities such as making, painting and singers coming in, also activities like summer fair, basic engagement such as balloons is very good for hand-eye coordination. Some resident rooms are nicer than others some quite small and basic. Limited road parking.

My father was a resident from June to October 2024. It was a very difficult time for my dad. The medical challenges that he presented to the staff at Broomy Hill Nursing Home were challenging but everyone dealt with them with great professionalism and kindness.

I could not recommend a better nursing home to look after your loved one.

I would just like to say a massive thank you to everyone at Broomy Hill Nursing Home for the exceptional care they have provided my father since he arrived in July. A special mention must go to the care home manager, as a family, we were very nervous about our father's transition from his previous home in Wales but she made the move seamless and her support throughout was outstanding and the quality of care compared to his previous home had blown me away. Thank you once again.

I'm deeply thankful to the team at Broomy Hill Nursing Home for the exceptional care they've provided to my father since his move from Wales. From the outset, it was clear that Broomy Hill was the right place for him.
The staff at Broomy Hill are truly exceptional. They blend professionalism with warmth and kindness, showing genuine care for each resident. This compassionate approach has greatly eased my father's transition and brought us comfort.
A special thanks goes to the home manager for her outstanding support during the move. She ensured everything went smoothly and addressed our concerns with care, reflecting the high quality of leadership and care at Broomy Hill.

When my sister was first admitted to Broomy Hill Nursing Home with end-stage dementia, I was very apprehensive in giving over the total care of someone I love to total strangers. From day one, I was given reassurance that my sister's every need would be provided for and that I could visit or phone any time. While my sister's condition can change, I can always ask questions to find out how this is being managed. When visiting, I have never experienced anything other than kindness and patience to my sister and support for which I am very grateful to myself! Words cannot express how grateful I feel to everyone at Broomy Hill.

Broomy Hill Day Care and respite had been life-changing for my mum. Suffering from dementia and having other health difficulties means she needs understanding and patience. Two members of staff in particular and the team always make Mum so welcome and I feel like they genuinely care for her and me! It was Mum's birthday recently and they made her feel so special. They signed her card, from your Broomy Hill family. Well, quite frankly we do feel like part of the family when we go there. The warm, welcoming and caring Broomy Hill family. Nothing was too much trouble when she stayed for respite and Mum's room was clean, warm and comfortable with a nice garden view. Mum enjoyed her time so much she is looking forward to going back again!

My mum was a resident for 18 months before she passed away in January 2024.
I can't recommend enough.
The care staff are excellent. The team is consistent with little changes to the staffing. My mum saw the same people every day which is very comforting and was less confusing for her.
The food was lovely and cooked every day on the premises.
The rooms are modern and inviting.
I knew all the staff, including the cook, and they knew me.
I was so happy she was there.

Thank you Broomy Hill.

My mum has been attending the daycare centre since October. Every time I collect her, she is in such high spirits saying how lovely everyone is there. She is also clearly being well-stimulated as she is more observant and doing some of her old habits like making sentences based on letters on registration plates. This may sound simple but for a few years now, Mum hasn’t engaged in this sort of fun thing and it makes us both smile.
Mum has also sung to me on the way home, music is important to Mum and the staff have been really thoughtful about the music she would like and want to sing along with.

I just can’t fault the care, thoughtfulness and commitment that I have seen, so far, from the staff and look forward to increasing Mums time there.

My beloved husband passed away at Broomy Hill late last month after being part of the Broomy Hill family for 8 years. I will never be able to fully thank all the staff for their professional care, compassion and love for him during his time with them. Nothing was ever too much trouble, he was treated like a family member and afforded every act of compassion right up to the end. I stayed with him in the home for the last ten days of his life and their empathy, professionalism and love were extended to me as well and this applied to all the staff, management, nursing, cleaners and catering. They all, without exception, took me under their wing and made a deeply distressing time bearable. Thank you Broomy Hill, you are an amazing group of people. I'll never be able to repay you for everything you did for him.

My husband was discharged from a long hospital stay into a discharge to assess bed at Broomy Hill. He had been bedbound for some time and needed to be hoisted upon his arrival. Within days, the dedicated nursing staff had him out of bed and mobilised independently. My husband displays challenging behaviour and this is handled with care and dignity by the staff. I would particularly commend the clinical lead, who has recognised that sometimes relatives also need guidance, reassurance and practical advice in order to make the best-informed decisions for their loved ones. She has co-operated with the mental health team to determine the best way forward for my husband's welfare and for this I am most grateful.

My siblings and I have constantly been surprised at the depth of genuine care, love and tenderness the staff have shown for our mum since she arrived at Broomy Hill in October 2022. After suffering a life changing stroke, her care really is in the best possible hands. Staff are attentive, knowledgeable and caring. There's always a positive and friendly atmosphere, despite sometimes challenging circumstances! The newly refurbished day/dining rooms are particularly lovely too. With over 25 years of experience as a qualified general nurse, my career began as a district nurse, followed by advanced practice roles. I have worked in GP surgeries and urgent care centres before transitioning into care home management.

Originally from Liverpool, I moved away when my daughter left for university, although my heart remains connected to my beloved city. Four years ago, my husband and I, along with our two dogs, decided to settle in Hereford after years of living a nomadic lifestyle. We now enjoy a more rooted life, cherishing the time spent with our two grandchildren, who keep us active and youthful.

My passion lies in providing quality care for older adults, especially those living with dementia. I find great fulfilment in stepping away from the desk and working directly alongside my dedicated team.

Since joining Ashberry in August 2023, I have felt immensely proud to be part of this exceptional team. I am excited about the future and look forward to leading Broomy Hill towards continued excellence in care.
