The care and attention for my nan is second to none, absolutely no worries or sleepless nights knowing she is being taken care of at Newstead. All of the staff are so helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much to ask for. Thanks so much, everyone.
Thank you for your kind review. We really appreciate the feedback and we are delighted that you are happy with the care your Nan is receiving.
After much consideration and research, my mother went to live at Newstead House in September 2021 aged 96 with increasing mobility issues and a diagnosis of progressive vascular dementia. From the moment she arrived, we were welcomed with open arms and made to feel that nothing was too much trouble by any of the staff, from the management, senior nurses, care staff, and domestic and catering staff. I immediately felt my mother was safe and would be well cared for, which indeed she was. There is always a full and varied daily activities programme, in-house home-cooked food with plenty of choice. Each resident is a loved and valued member of the 'Newstead family' and there is always an air of calm, friendship and kindness the moment you step inside the door. No resident could ever feel bored, hungry, lonely or worried. I would have absolutely no reservations about recommending Newstead to anyone, it is an amazing care home, a rare find at a time of anguish and worry. Thank you for everything.
Thank you Debbie for your lovely review. Your mum was a very special lady who was loved by the whole team. It was a real pleasure to look after her and to get to know her family. She was such a character and we will always remember her for her smiles and gentle ways.
My aunt has been a resident at Newstead since January 2024. I visit very regularly and see how kind and caring the staff are and also how happy their residents are as well.
Thank you for your review. It is good to know you are happy with your aunt's care with us.
I can honestly say that it was Newstead House that picked me up and put me back on my feet. Thank you to all the team for all your help and kindness.
Thank you for your review. It was a real pleasure to welcome you to Newstead and to see you well enough to go home.
My husband was cared for in Newstead House in Hereford for nearly a year before he passed away at the end of August 2023. The love and care he received at this nursing home was excellent. All of the staff, especially the nurses and carers, showed him so much love and cared for him so well. They also treated me and all of his family with care and nothing was too much trouble for them. I will be eternally grateful to everyone there.
Thank you for your kind words. It was a real pleasure to care for your husband, and I know that the whole team will be so happy to know that you felt that we looked after him and you so well. We have loved seeing you at the home since his death and hope that you will continue to come back to see us on a regular basis.
We were welcomed into the house and told we will take care of all your daily needs and your time is for enjoying yourself. We were just surprised by a wonderful lunch to celebrate our 50th anniversary. We could not be happier, spending our time laughing and joking with the members.
We are glad that you are happy with the care we provide at Newstead and that you feel welcome and part of the family.
For the past 18 months, my father has resided at Newstead House, during which time it is clear he has developed strong and happy bonds with residents and house staff. This connection with both was recently key in the early recognition that his health had taken a sudden and unexpected turn for the worse. The staff’s rapid professional, and deeply caring, intervention to get my father into the medical system resulted in the identification and treatment of a previously undetected risk to his life. Dad is back once again in the place he calls ‘home’ much to the relief of his fellow residents, many of whom have become close friends, and the amazing staff.
We love having your Dad living here at Newstead. He is an important part of the 'Newstead Team'
Newstead House is a lovely and well-organised home. My aunt has been living there happily for some time now. The nursing staff know her well and can always be relied on to answer our queries. They don't just care for her - they clearly care about her.
We appreciate you taking the time to post a review for Newstead and I am delighted that your aunt is happy with us. It is a real privilege to care for her.
My sister spent almost two years at Newstead. She always looked clean and well cared for and she always regarded Newstead as her home. She never complained and I think she was as happy as she could have been in the circumstances. I am very grateful to the staff at Newstead for all the kindness, patience and care that they gave her.
We cannot praise Newstead enough. As a paediatric nurse and a carer in my teens, I was very worried about Nan needing a care home, and it was a big decision for Nan and us, as a family. Despite her move during Covid, the staff ensured a smooth transition and regular communication with us, as family. Nan took a while to settle after leaving her home, but everyone made sure she had everything she needed and more importantly time to adjust. Nothing is too much trouble everyone is amazing. Nan is fussy with laundry, she tells me it's done beautifully and her dietary needs are also met well. Nan, at three months off 100, is fiercely independent and the staff are always on hand to encourage this and step in when things get tough. They respond quickly to any health needs and I feel they treat her as well as we would. Words cannot express how lucky we are to have found such a wonderful place.
Thank you for your kind review. Your Nana is an amazing lady and she is an inspiration to us all, on how to live your life to the full.
I found all the care staff really wonderful, very caring and dedicated.
Thank you for your kind comments. It was a pleasure having you stay at Newstead House whilst you recovered from your hip surgery
My brother was admitted to Newstead House Nursing and Residential Home in October 2019 and he was cared for throughout the pandemic right up until the end with wonderful care and consideration at all times. Nothing has been too much trouble for the staff. They also catered for my own needs throughout this time, especially near the end of his life. I could not have picked a better care home for my brother in his final years. All the staff, whether they be kitchen staff, cleaners, maintenance and admin staff, carers and nurses have all had his best interests at heart. I would thoroughly recommend Newstead to anyone. I cannot thank the team at Newstead enough.
Thank you for your kind words. It was a privilege and pleasure to look after your brother. I am so pleased that you also felt supported by the team.
Mum was a resident for approximately four and a half years in The Garden Wing. The staff have all been fantastic and the nursing has been exemplary too. During the horrendous time of Covid and visits were not permitted, we were always informed by either phone call or email. We were always made welcome and built up a lovely rapport with all the staff. The facilities at Newstead were very good and mum was very well looked after during her final years, forever grateful, thank you all at Team Newstead.
My mother-in-law has had the best care possible. Nothing was ever too much trouble for all the wonderful staff at Newstead. We were kept informed of anything concerning my mother-in-law, which over the last couple of years has been invaluable. The standards of the home are superb, it was not like visiting a nursing home. All I can say is a massive thank you to all the staff, it really is not suffice enough, but, we as a family appreciate all that you have done over the last four and a half years. Thank you.
All aspects of the care mum has received at Newstead House has been exemplary. She has been a resident for 10 years and the main carers have been the same members of staff for all those years, and have treated her with care and dignity at all times. We have had the comfort of knowing she has received the same level of care as we, the immediate family would give. There is nothing more we as a family could have asked for from Newstead. Thank you so much.
I am delighted with my excellent care and the variety of creative activities that are offered to me. Food is very good with roast meals on Sundays and Wednesdays. I like that I can choose what I would like to eat. My room is beautiful and I have the most wonderful views over the hills into Wales where I come from. The staff are so welcoming and I can talk to them about anything.
The care is excellent. Our sister is very happy. The food is very good.
My mother-in-law has been a resident at Newstead House Nursing and Residential Home since February 2020. She found it hard to settle having been very independent. The staff have patiently helped her to adjust and, having made some special friends, she has become a happy contented lady. She has nothing but praise for the staff who are more like friends than carers. At 96 her memory is fading and she can't always remember the names of individuals but they all call her by her Christian name and take time to chat and ensure she has everything she needs or wants. This is a clean and happy place where smiles are plentiful. We attended the Jubilee Garden party. Residents were walked or wheeled outside to sit around the table laden with goodies. The ladies looked wonderful in their homemade fascinators and the gentlemen proudly wore their Union Flag hats. Bunting was hung around the gardens and adorned the building too. They worked hard during Covid and continue to do so to keep everyone safe. It's a special place.
We try so hard to ensure our care is "warm and friendly" and so are so pleased to see this reflected in your comments. Thank you for your comments, which we will share with the team.
Newstead in Hereford is a very welcoming nursing and residential home, my Mum suffers from dementia and is bedbound. Mum has been a resident here since March 2022, the management and care staff are excellent and friendly, and even the cleaning staff take time out to talk to my Mum. The food is excellent as well. I would recommend anyone to take a look at Newstead if you are looking for a Nursing or Residential Home.
I would like to thank all the members of staff involved in caring for my father. They took the time to understand my his needs and provided him with a home from home. Management and care team have been excellent.

I have extensive experience in managing care homes and have been the Registered Manager at Newstead House since January 2018.
I have always had an affinity with the older generation and it has been a privilege to work with them for so many years.
I have always considered the senior generation as people who deserve the best and I feel honoured to be in a position, along with my fantastic team, to provide those in our care with the opportunity to live the best life they can at Newstead House.

I enjoy helping others to live their best lives. I love getting to know residents and their families really well and working with a dedicated team to make, even the smallest things matter. Enriching the lives and wellbeing of our residents.

A warm and friendly face, supporting residents wherever i can. I really enjoy getting to know residents and their families.

It's important to me to ensure all activities are personally centred to residents, allowing residents to live their best lives and promote independence.
