Friendly care home with kind nurses and staff. Light, airy and modern rooms, good and clean facilities.
Dad has been at Newstead for over 2 years now and I have no complaints regarding his care. He's treated with dignity and respect. The staff are always friendly and helpful. His room is always clean and tidy and most importantly Dad is happy there (well as happy as he'd ever be in any nursing home!)
I have a very dear friend living at Newstead and visit her several times a week, she is happy there and well looked after. The staff are always pleasant and willing to help and always make me feel welcome. I often have a meal there with my friend and find the food very acceptable.
Very friendly and efficient. My mother has been here for 4 years and has been very well looked after and nothing is too much trouble for anyone.
Very smooth transition from my grandmothers home to Newstead. Staff are incredibly supportive and keep me well informed of my grandmothers health and needs. The deputy manage is simply wonderful and has been a great help and comfort to me during this transition. She is simply unbelievable at her job and I have total peace of mind that my grandmother is being well cared for and safe in there trust.
Every single member of staff has been kind and welcoming. The care has been second to none, with nothing every being too much bother. The deputy manage goes above and beyond her call of duty. Always makes an effort to come and talk to us and update of any changes. 11/10 to everyone. Thank you.
Newstead House, what can I say! This home is "home from home", full of cheerfulness, passion and kindness. My Mum has Alzheimer's and has been a resident for over 2 years and Dad the same tup until March 2019, when he sadly passed away. They are professional. They keep you updated all the time and contact me with any changes/concerns they have. My Dad's end of life care was exceptional. They were above and beyond and my rock too. They got me through a heartbreaking time. During this time, when I arrived, there would be a member of staff, chatting and comforting Dad. My Mum is always immaculate. Her personal hygiene care is exceptional always looks comfortable, in her bed or chair. Finally, if you are looking for reassurance of high standard, medical and care support, I recommend Newstead.
My mother was in Newstead House Nursing Home for over two and a half years. She passed away peacefully at the beginning of this month. The care and love she received, especially towards the end was superb. Every effort was made to keep her comfortable (which succeeded) and I was kept informed of all changes. All the staff were really supportive to Mum and me. I was a midwife/nurse for 40 years so I can appreciate the high standard of care. I would happily recommend Newstead to anyone.
This was felt from all the staff from the manager through to the cleaners. We would have no hesitation in recommending this home to anyone.
This is particularly important for those with Parkinson's.
The staff were extremely welcoming to me when I arrived, and are very friendly and caring. Facilities are excellent and there are varied activities for residents to enjoy.
My mother in law was admitted to Newstead for Palliative care and sadly was only there for two weeks before she passed away. The compassion and care that was shown to her and us was amazing and we as a family can not praise them enough. Thank you for everything.
Mum settled quickly due to the thoughtfulness and care of the staff. I feel reassured that I have made the right choice of nursing home for her and for her end of life care.
I am so glad Newstead was chosen for dad's care. We have been so impressed with the care and compassion shown to dad during his time. His dignity preserved always. Thank you so much everyone.
The passion that all the staff at Newstead have for their patients and the families is incredible. This experience has been made so much easier thanks to them. I couldn't speak highly enough of them.
Assistant manager has been an incredible support to all the family.
He was treated with dignity and respect at all times.
Although all the staff/management were amazing, there are a few, in particular, that stand out with me when visiting. Thanks really to everyone though.
My mother has been a resident for the last 6 months and considers this 'her home'. The staff are very kind and caring and professional. Mum is always tidy and her personal hygiene well attended to. The last month has been full of great Christmas activities led by the excellent activity coordinator. Our extended family that were with her over the festive season were most impressed by the care home and staff.
The whole experience was very personal. Everyone knew me and my mum and knew exactly how she was feeling and her medical condition. Above all, everyone really cared. Communication was outstanding and nursing care was superb and very adaptable to her changing needs.
One other small but important factor was that it never smelt like a care home.
My mother is benefiting from the lovely homely, caring environment Newstead has and enjoys the many varied activities that are on offer. She has settled well and is happy there. Furthermore, I have complete confidence in the management and nursing staff that they are looking after my mother to a high standard.

Meet the Team (7)

I have extensive experience in managing care homes and have been the Registered Manager at Newstead House since January 2018.
I have always had an affinity with the older generation and it has been a privilege to work with them for so many years.
I have always considered the senior generation as people who deserve the best and I feel honoured to be in a position, along with my fantastic team, to provide those in our care with the opportunity to live the best life they can at Newstead House.

I enjoy helping others to live their best lives. I love getting to know residents and their families really well and working with a dedicated team to make, even the smallest things matter. Enriching the lives and wellbeing of our residents.

A warm and friendly face, supporting residents wherever i can. I really enjoy getting to know residents and their families.

It's important to me to ensure all activities are personally centred to residents, allowing residents to live their best lives and promote independence.

I joined Newstead House in 2016 as a cleaner and was then promoted to Head of Ancillary in 2018. My team and I pride ourselves in making a positive atmosphere and keeping our high standards of cleanliness. Our priority is the well being of the residents to enable them to live their best lives.

I like to be kept busy around Newstead House, no job is too big or small for me as I love making residents smile.

As the Head Chef here at Newstead, a well balanced diet full of nutrition, quality ingredients and taste is so important to me. We review our menu's every 3 months to ensure variety is offered.
