I think West Eaton is a well-managed home where residents feel safe and contented. It feels that the staff are happy and there is a friendly caring to all. Both carers and activity staff help all the residents to become involved with the many activities which are imaginative and on offer every day. West Eaton feels like a happy, busy, place but not too noisy. All the staff have time for everyone including visitors. The care of my husband who stays in bed is excellent both physically and emotionally. Many of the staff have known him for all the last year he has been there.

Mum has been living at Weat Eaton for 3.5 years. The home and her room are always spotless as is she. Can't speak highly enough of the care and staff. There is always plenty going on and arranged events, although often she does not engage. Walking into West Eaton is more like entering a hotel rather than a care home. Communication from the home is always very good.

This is a wonderful care home. The care provided to my mother is excellent.
Mum is much more engaged due to the great care and activities provided.
Everyone at West Eaton is warm and friendly.
It can be really hard to have a family member in a care home but it's a huge relief to be able to trust that the care given is of a consistently high quality.

We really couldn't ask for better.

Outstanding end-of-life care for my mother. West Eaton even made sure that someone was with her when she died. (This was in the early hours of the morning and I could not have made it to Mum's bedside in time.) Knowing that Mum was not alone when she died gave me great comfort.

We knew that it would be a huge change for our loved one when she moved from her own home into full-time care at West Eaton. But from the first moment, when we were met with a warm welcome at the door and the West Eaton team swung into action, the transition went smoothly and happily. Over the past few months, our loved one has settled in well as she has got to know the West Eaton team and they have got to know her. The family has been kept well informed about medical, social and emotional progress, any issues have been speedily shared, and we have always been warmly welcomed during the flexible visiting hours. The activities, for those who wish to participate, are many and varied and frequent personal touches are much appreciated by residents. The whole, wonderful West Eaton team work so hard to ensure that the West Eaton experience is a personal and comfortable one for residents. We are very grateful to have found such a caring home for our loved one.

I cannot speak highly enough of West Eaton Nursing and Residential Home. They were able to help my lovely mum with a month of respite care at a tricky time. Every members of staff which we had contact with was professional in every way but also had a warmth, treating people individually and with care. So much work goes on behind the scenes to make sure everything runs smoothly, but as a visitor to see a resident you would never know. The atmosphere was always lovely, everybody had time for you and questions were always answered. I would not hesitate to ask West Eaton if my mum could stay with them again if we found ourselves in the same situation again.

Every time I visit my friend I am so pleased to see him being so well looked after. There is always an air of calmness and staff readily smile and are ready to help. I have seen the staff calmly and patiently feeding my friend with cheerful gentle encouragement. I am particularly impressed by the staff and clear explanation stage by stage when helping with changes of clothing etc. Dignity at all times.

My mother received outstanding care from all the staff at West Eaton. The nursing staff, the carers, the catering staff and the management team were most professional and no request was too much. They were always prepared to listen to any concerns and everyone was exceptionally kind to my mother. The activities organiser is a wonderful person and treats each resident as a member of her family.

My mother spent a very happy last 18 months of her life here and really thrived in their care. She loved all the activities and we loved seeing what she was up to on the regular social media posts as the whole family felt that they could keep in touch with her this way. She had very personalised care right to the end and we couldn't have been happier with the care, compassion and dignity that she was shown. Wonderful staff and great setting.

Overall Experience
From our first visit, it was apparent that the level of care and consideration achieved by the management, administration, nursing and all of the care staff was beyond what we had experienced and indeed expected from any care home.
Crucially, West Eaton Nursing and Residential Home have twin rooms so couples can remain together whilst enjoying bespoke care and a quality of life that they could no longer maintain at home; meals, activities, prescriptions, housekeeping, basically all those things that are a challenge for those in need and the families who worry so much about them.
During all our visits we have never seen anything but care, empathy and a genuine willingness to create a tailor-made experience for both residents and the wider family. This is all done with a smile and an appropriate sense of humour which gives the whole place a light, relaxed and calm atmosphere that is infectious.

In short, should I ever need residential care I do hope West Eaton is there for me.

Excellent care home. Staff are attentive and well organised. Exemplary care for my mother, right up until her death, which was able to happen in a pain-free and dignified manner. The home is clean and aesthetically pleasing. Compared to other homes, it is by far the best. Facilities and activities are excellent. Staff morale appears to be very good, everyone always appears cheerful and helpful. Thank you so much.

Mum has been here just over a month and seems to have settled well. The staff look after her very well because she can be very difficult at times. The staff are also very friendly towards us as visitors. Mum loves the view out of her bedroom window, it reminds her of her childhood home. She has enjoyed joining in some of the activities.

After looking after my mum for nearly 5 years in August this year, I had to make a very difficult decision and put my mum in care, as my mum's health was getting worse and I was struggling to look after Mum mentally and physically. I looked around 3 care homes and West Eaton Nursing and Residential Home ticked all the boxes from meeting the Manager and being shown around, I knew Mum would be happy here. The staff are all very nice and nothing is too much trouble, you ask for something and it's done straight away. Mum spends a lot of time in her room she can see staff walking past all the time which I think reassures her. They always stop and answer her and spend time talking to her. I beat myself up for weeks when I first put my Mum into care but now I realise I have done the right thing, a month or so ago. Mum was really poorly on a Saturday and Mum got all the care she needed, a doctor came to see her where I would have struggled on a Saturday, I would highly recommend West Eaton.

I have no hesitation in recommending West Eaton Nursing Home. It is a homely, friendly place where all staff are helpful and pleasant and are involved or aware of each resident's needs. My father settled very quickly and experienced very good care and kindness. They dealt with his Alzheimer's and night wanderings appropriately, which was totally lacking at a previous home. The semi-open plan design makes it very light and airy and allows carers to keep a careful eye on everyone, also lovely views to be had. I had every confidence in the nursing staff, who were competent and helpful in dealing with my father's ill health quickly and keeping us informed at all times.

Mum first went into West Eaton Nursing and Residential Home in early February this year 2 days before her 95th birthday, I had been caring for her at home up till then, but I could see she needed more around the clock care something I could not provide. At first, I think it was all a little confusing for her but now she seems to have settled in fine. The staff from management through to carers, chefs and even the handyman are all very hands on loving caring people, nothing is too much of a problem for them. The facilities are always spotless and the location is just perfect being only half a mile away from Mum's home. Which makes it easy for me to visit her. All the staff get involved in the day to day care they provide to each and every individual resident in the home, they hold daily activities and get the residents involved. Even the outside grounds and gardens are a perfect setting where the residents and their families can sit and relax in the sun or something more shaded. Keep up the good work everyone.
