Less than a mile from the quaint market town of Leominster, this care home is set in 6 acres of attractive landscaped gardens, overlooking the beautiful Herefordshire countryside.

The modern purpose built house provides accommodation for 33 residents in both single and double rooms over 2 floors, with plenty of communal space. Most rooms offer beautiful rural views bringing a sense of tranquillity and peace. The home has an extension to the conservatory, lounge and dining room, which has also provided a garden terrace overlooking the valley.

The home is part of a small, local nursing home group, which has excellent care standards across all of its homes. Owners believe that West Eaton provides a happy, homely environment which residents and relatives value highly, and they encourage visitors to come at any time and to support social events. Professionals cater for nursing and dementia needs, and offer both palliative care and respite care.

One of West Eaton's carers was recently awarded the Best Newcomer award at the Great British Regional finals (2024) and will participate in the Nationals early next year. Another carer was awarded the Highly Commended award in the Carer of the Year category and the home's Lifestyle and Wellbeing Co-Ordinator made it to finalist stage.

My mother received outstanding care from all the staff at West Eaton. The nursing staff, the carers, the catering staff and the management team were most professional and no request was too much. They were always prepared to listen to any concerns and everyone was exceptionally kind to my mother. The
activities organiser is a wonderful person and treats each resident as a member of her family.

My mother spent a very happy last 18 months of her life here and really thrived in their care. She loved all the activities and we loved seeing what she was up to on the regular social media posts as the whole family felt that they could keep in touch with her this way. She had very personalised care
right to the end and we couldn't have been happier with the care, compassion and dignity that she was shown. Wonderful staff and great setting.

From our first visit, it was apparent that the level of care and consideration achieved by the management, administration, nursing and all of the care staff was beyond what we had experienced and indeed expected from any care home.
Crucially, West Eaton Nursing and Residential Home have twin rooms
so couples can remain together whilst enjoying bespoke care and a quality of life that they could no longer maintain at home; meals, activities, prescriptions, housekeeping, basically all those things that are a challenge for those in need and the families who worry so much about them.
During all our visits we have never seen anything but care, empathy and a genuine willingness to create a tailor-made experience for both residents and the wider family. This is all done with a smile and an appropriate sense of humour which gives the whole place a light, relaxed and calm atmosphere that is infectious.
In short, should I ever need residential care I do hope West Eaton is there for me.

Excellent care home. Staff are attentive and well organised. Exemplary care for my mother, right up until her death, which was able to happen in a pain-free and dignified manner. The home is clean and aesthetically pleasing. Compared to other homes, it is by far the best. Facilities and activities are

Mum has been here just over a month and seems to have settled well. The staff look after her very well because she can be very difficult at times. The staff are also very friendly towards us as visitors. Mum loves the view out of her bedroom window, it reminds her of her childhood home. She has enjoyed

After looking after my mum for nearly 5 years in August this year, I had to make a very difficult decision and put my mum in care, as my mum's health was getting worse and I was struggling to look after Mum mentally and physically. I looked around 3 care homes and West Eaton Nursing and Residential
Home ticked all the boxes from meeting the Manager and being shown around, I knew Mum would be happy here. The staff are all very nice and nothing is too much trouble, you ask for something and it's done straight away. Mum spends a lot of time in her room she can see staff walking past all the time which I think reassures her. They always stop and answer her and spend time talking to her. I beat myself up for weeks when I first put my Mum into care but now I realise I have done the right thing, a month or so ago. Mum was really poorly on a Saturday and Mum got all the care she needed, a doctor came to see her where I would have struggled on a Saturday, I would highly recommend West Eaton.

I have no hesitation in recommending West Eaton Nursing Home. It is a homely, friendly place where all staff are helpful and pleasant and are involved or aware of each resident's needs. My father settled very quickly and experienced very good care and kindness. They dealt with his Alzheimer's and night
wanderings appropriately, which was totally lacking at a previous home. The semi-open plan design makes it very light and airy and allows carers to keep a careful eye on everyone, also lovely views to be had. I had every confidence in the nursing staff, who were competent and helpful in dealing with my father's ill health quickly and keeping us informed at all times.

From the moment I met the manager and senior staff, I knew that my mother would be well looked after. Two years on and everything that I hoped for has been realised. A care home's success is all about how the staff follow the ethos and takes time for its residents - West Eaton is exemplary.

My mum has been treated with kindness, respect and dignity by all members of your amazing team. I can't really thank the staff enough as it has been a huge relief for me. Watching them, I can appreciate how physically and emotionally challenging it could be, but they always respond with cheer and grace.

Mum first went into West Eaton Nursing and Residential Home in early February this year 2 days before her 95th birthday, I had been caring for her at home up till then, but I could see she needed more around the clock care something I could not provide. At first, I think it was all a little confusing
for her but now she seems to have settled in fine. The staff from management through to carers, chefs and even the handyman are all very hands on loving caring people, nothing is too much of a problem for them. The facilities are always spotless and the location is just perfect being only half a mile away from Mum's home. Which makes it easy for me to visit her. All the staff get involved in the day to day care they provide to each and every individual resident in the home, they hold daily activities and get the residents involved. Even the outside grounds and gardens are a perfect setting where the residents and their families can sit and relax in the sun or something more shaded. Keep up the good work everyone.

My wife has been looked after extremely well. The staff are always very welcoming and will always do everything you ask of them. I would definitely recommend West Eaton Nursing and Residential Home to everyone. It is in very good condition, very clean and always very welcoming.

My mother came to West Eaton in June 2021. She was scared and confused as she’d been in her flat for 25-years. Within two weeks of settling in, she said she was the happiest she’d ever been and loved her home. From day one to the present day, I have to say there are not enough words to describe, not
only the outstanding facilities but the care that is given to the resident there.
Each individual every day goes above and beyond to ensure the best care is provided for. I believe everyone can be taught a skill, but it takes a unique individual to take a skill to an outstanding level, which changes lives and just makes the world a better place to live in. Each and everyone at West Eaton has that uniqueness. For my beautiful mum, they have become her extended family. My mother-in-law was a resident at West Eaton for 18 months. I cannot praise the staff there highly enough for their skill, compassion and patience. She was encouraged to be as active and involved as possible in both the day-to-day activities and the regular special events. The staff became her extended
family and kept her and the other residents safe, making personal sacrifices to stay Covid- free.

Mum has only been at West Eaton for 2 weeks but is taking time to settle and presenting restless behaviour. However, the staff have been incredibly kind and caring during this period ensuring that she receives a high standard of care, and are also very supportive of the family, especially Dad who always
feels very welcome when he visits. Living a considerable distance away, I have found that there is always someone knowledgeable about Mum's care needs available to talk to and the information shred has been excellent. The whole family really appreciate all they are doing for Mum and I can't speak highly enough about them. Thank you so much.

My brother came to West Eaton Nursing and Residential home in June 2021 and I can’t thank this home enough! The transformation in him in such a short amount of time is unbelievable! Everybody is so friendly, welcoming and professional and nothing is too much for them. They go above and beyond their
duties to make residents safe, happy, well looked after and give them the respect and dignity they deserve. The home is very welcoming with fantastic gardens and wonderful views. Food looks delicious, varied and very well prepared. The activities are second to none, giving residents entertainment and relief from their day to day routines and are included in everything! Honestly, I can’t recommend this wonderful home enough, everybody concerned does a fantastic job of making it a home from home experience.

Dad has been a resident of West Eaton since the start of lockdown, which has naturally been quite difficult given all the associated restrictions. So whilst as his family, we have not been able to go inside the home and witness firsthand the running of the home and the interaction between residents
and staff we have been given a very good impression. Staff are always happy to receive telephone calls either for Dad himself or for me to enquire with them about his current health and I know they have made contact with other health care professionals in order to help him settle in. The activities co-ordinator seems to be doing a brilliant job. There are always various activities planned to keep residents engaged, shown by the many photographs on their Facebook page. This has been a fantastic way to give relatives insight into what goes on and see the occasional photos of our loved ones too. Just this week she has organised for Dad to send Mum an anniversary card. Thank you.

I cared for my mum for many years at home, so when mum's needs were greater than could be managed at home, I was really concerned about her having to go to a home as she had never wanted that and I was worried that she would not be as well cared for or as happy as she had been at home.
Then we found
West Eaton. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was reassured. Mum moved in nearly 2 years ago and I cannot think of one thing that could have been done to improve her or my experience. Mum has been happy and expertly and lovingly cared for. It is certainly the best possible place for her and it has been a huge comfort for me.
Big big thanks for all you have done and continue to do for mum and the rest of her family.

Our team is dedicated and committed to ensuring that the whole home recognises food and drink as both medicine and everyday life-fulfilling experiences.
Our transformed garden with boxes for herbs and vegetables and grounds lending themselves to growing elderflower and fruit trees promotes engagement from ground to plate.


I have many varied interests like going to concerts and festivals and photography, however, I absolutely love skydiving! I would like to one day get my private pilot's license and do the 3 Peaks challenge.

I am creative, versatile, enthusiastic, optimistic and really care about people. I am reliable and considerate and not shy to learn a new skill or take up a challenge and I believe my skills and experience in organizing projects align well with the role. Being able to think on my feet and act quickly has held me in good stead when activities don’t always go to plan.


Working in partnership with the local community, including schools, churches, charities, local groups and alongside residents’ family and friends has been a huge advantage to the lives of our residents.
