Less than a mile from the quaint market town of Leominster, this care home is set in 6 acres of attractive landscaped gardens, overlooking the beautiful Herefordshire countryside.

The modern purpose built house provides accommodation for 33 residents in both single and double rooms over 2 floors, with plenty of communal space. Most rooms offer beautiful rural views bringing a sense of tranquillity and peace. The home has an extension to the conservatory, lounge and dining room, which has also provided a garden terrace overlooking the valley.

The home is part of a small, local nursing home group, which has excellent care standards across all of its homes. Owners believe that West Eaton provides a happy, homely environment which residents and relatives value highly, and they encourage visitors to come at any time and to support social events. Professionals cater for nursing and dementia needs, and offer both palliative care and respite care.

One of West Eaton's carers was recently awarded the Best Newcomer award at the Great British Regional finals (2024) and will participate in the Nationals early next year. Another carer was awarded the Highly Commended award in the Carer of the Year category and the home's Lifestyle and Wellbeing Co-Ordinator made it to finalist stage.

My Mum has received great care since she arrived. The staff seem to genuinely care about the residents and also seem to be happy in their work. The atmosphere is always pleasant and warm when I visit and the staff are very welcoming.

The quality and service at West Eaton House has exceeded all expectations. It is a great relief for the whole family to see Nan and Grandad being cared for so well. Since they moved in we have seen a remarkable uptick in their health and happiness which speaks for itself. The setting is stunning, surrounded
by green fields and residents have access to gardens as well as spacious communal areas with great views. The activities the staff put on for residents are stimulating and fun, enabling residents to do far more than they ever could in their own homes. All the staff we've dealt with have been fantastic - it's clear they're passionate about what they do and they're always incredibly accommodating when we visit.

I have nothing but praise for all the staff. They treat the residents with so much care, compassion and dignity. They always have a very friendly welcome and give you updates on the welfare of your relative. I feel like they are part of my family and I am so very grateful for all the care they give.
I have been a visitor there for the past 2 years and 9 months and I can not fault them at all. They have done a fantastic job keeping themselves safe and the residents safe during this virus. I have complete trust in them and the way they work to keep everyone safe and happy. There are a lot of activities going on for all the residents to keep them busy and interactive.

My mum has now been living at West Eaton care home for over a year. It really has been home from home. She settled in straight away with the help of the amazing staff. They are all so caring and I have noticed how good-humoured and patient everyone is. I did not expect my mum to ever need 24/7 care
but the rural location, the welcome and the high-quality nursing have given me peace of mind. It is always a joy to visit and the home has managed the COVID-19  situation with early intervention and extra PPE even before it became mandatory.  I am looking forward to our next visit in the beautiful gardens. My mum loves watching the new hens they have bought and enjoys all the art and craft activities having previously been such a busy and independent lady.  Mum loves going up to her room which we were able to personalise and we know that she is happy and trusts the staff that look after her. Our wholehearted thanks go out to West Eaton staff who create such a welcoming home.

The pre-arranged visit to see my husband in June was exciting after three months of not being able to see him face to face. The visit was well organised and the staff had obviously made an effort as it was my birthday as well as being the first visit to my husband in such a long time. I felt safe as
I wore my own mask, there was hand gel available at West Eaton, and the seating arranged for me was 2 metres away from my husband. He was seated in a specialist chair inside a gazebo on the patio. He was safe too, protected from the sun, and the nurse call bell was given to us by the carer in case we needed anything. A special thank you to everyone who made this visit possible.

Although there have inevitably been some staff changes over the years, the dedication and level of care remain unchanged at a high level and it is always a pleasure to experience the friendliness and thoughtfulness of the staff who do their best to maintain a warm and relaxed atmosphere in the Home.
My mother remains content and appreciative. It is reassuring to know that the difficulties of this period of lockdown have been handled with the utmost responsibility.

My brother and I have recently moved our parents to West Eaton. It has been an enormous relief to have them close by and to know they are being so well looked after, especially during the coronavirus outbreak. The nursing staff and carers are professional, respectful, caring and attentive to their needs.
The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming of visitors. We have even taken our well-behaved dog to see them. Their children, grandchildren and a great-granddaughter have all visited them and been pleased to see how settled they are. It has worked out far better than I could have imagined, as it is enormously stressful moving an elderly couple away from their home and community because they can no longer cope. The building is spacious and full of light. Their room is beautiful and private, though they are encouraged to spend as much time as possible alongside other residents. The food is excellent, plentiful, varied and nutritious. West Eaton has changed all our lives for the better.

Mum moved into West Eaton in November 2018 after she realised that it was no longer safe to live alone.
First impressions when we visited, prior to arranging care for mum, were very positive and I have had no reason to change my opinion.
Everything is always spotlessly clean and none of the frequently
thought of 'old folks home' smell.
The staff are amazing, caring, friendly people who have made mum's transition easy.

After one and a half years of looking after my wife suffering from three strokes and times in the hospital, on the 13th April she was placed in West Eaton House. We visited a friend of the wife in West Eaton House a few times and thought what a wonderful place to come to. The management and staff are
excellent, the care and support needs are met with dignity. The food is also excellent with the security of locked doors at all times. (There is a code for the visitors to enter). There is a hairdresser one morning a week. Every week they have two or three activities which help the people to chill out.

Both of us, having some experience of care homes, we can honestly say that we consider West Eaton House one of the very best. The phrase 'nothing is too much trouble' really does apply here. The quality of the care, the entertainment and the food is consistently maintained at a high level. We know how
difficult this is with dementia patients. We fell extremely lucky that our relative is in such good hands.

The care staff are very friendly. The nursing staff are very helfpul. The kitchen staff are very good and the food is excellent. The home is fairly small (about 30 residents) My wife has been a resident for 4 years and is very happy there.

Mum has recently gone into care at West Eaton House. Over this time her care has been excellent and the staff are extremely caring and friendly. The atmosphere is friendly and happy and mum has settled well into her new life where she needs both physical and psychological support as she has dementia
and she is very fail and needs encouragement to eat and drink. Good food.

When looking for a home for my mother, I visited many and when I came across West Easton, I smiled as I had found the home for mum. I was welcomed with compassion and love. All the staff at West Easton are kind and thoughtful. I no longer have to worry what care mum is receiveing. I feel she is safe
and well looked after.
West Eaton is a small home, but well staffed. They lay on daily events for all residents. When walking into the home to visit mum, I know I have chosen the right place.

My father always appears clean, warm and comfortable when I visit. The nursing home is always clean. Staff are friendly and informative and they meet his needs. My mother came to West Eaton from Hereford hospital following a stroke. She has received excellent care and has thrived on the personal attentive car that hospitals seem unable to provide. Although she has severe dementia and cannot walk following her stroke she seems contented which is a tribute to
the staff at West Eaton.

I fully understand that Nursing is a way of life and more than simply a career. I adhere to the absolute commitment that this career requires and am a good listener with a caring nature. I am also a good team player but know how to take charge and be a leader when necessary. I feel that my life experience influences my work. In the course of seeking both personal and professional development I have pursued and achieved several trainings and qualifications which include my Nursing Degree and I am currently working towards my NMC pin.


I had the opportunity to practise nursing in the Maldives which was an amazing experience.

After 10 years as a Kitchen Assistant, I realised I had the skills and ability to become the Head Chef.


Since being in this role, I have worked closely with my colleagues to produce resident person-centred menus and dishes by engaging closely with the residents and their families and fellow team members in really enhancing the mealtime experience for all and establishing favourites and associated memories as well as appetite drivers.
Our team is dedicated and committed to ensuring that the whole home recognises food and drink as both medicine and everyday life-fulfilling experiences.
Our transformed garden with boxes for herbs and vegetables and grounds lending themselves to growing elderflower and fruit trees promotes engagement from ground to plate.


I have many varied interests like going to concerts and festivals and photography, however, I absolutely love skydiving! I would like to one day get my private pilot's license and do the 3 Peaks challenge.

I continuously and proactively assess the cleanliness and presentation of the Home to ensure that it meets consistently high standards, working proactively with the Infection Prevention and Control Lead to ensure standards of cleanliness are attained. I am dedicated to providing person-centred quality care and a homely environment for the residents to enjoy.


I have 2 adult children and had dreams of one day training to be an embalmer or a pathologist.

I am creative, versatile, enthusiastic, optimistic and really care about people. I am reliable and considerate and not shy to learn a new skill or take up a challenge and I believe my skills and experience in organizing projects align well with the role. Being able to think on my feet and act quickly has held me in good stead when activities don’t always go to plan.


Working in partnership with the local community, including schools, churches, charities, local groups and alongside residents’ family and friends has been a huge advantage to the lives of our residents.


I am a good listener and if a resident has a particular desire to try a new activity, I do my best to make it happen.


I am passionate about gardening and have 2 lovely children.
