My mom has been at The Boynes for 12 months. The dementia care and attention she receives (not forgetting her dignity) from all the nursing staff and carers I cannot fault. The home is very welcoming and all the staff is very approachable. I know my Mom is in a safe and secure environment.

My father moved to the Boynes in February 2020. He received a warm and inviting welcome, and as a family, we were supported to personalise his room. My father has received excellent care, the team are on top of his health needs. He has settled well and is very happy. We have been impressed with how well the staff have managed this current difficult and challenging situation with COVID, with appropriate measures in place. The staff are helpful and friendly.

I found myself in the really sad situation of having to find a nursing home in June of this year for my mother. It's a task I was hoping not to have to take but covid19 made it much more challenging. Having very little knowledge and experience of nursing homes, I relied on CQC reports, website information, relatives comments and first impressions over the telephone. The Boynes was quickly shortlisted and each time I telephoned, every member of staff was kind, informative, friendly, efficient and effective. It was an extremely strange time for us all but they reassured me consistently The Boynes but seeing my mum in the garden is reassuring and I'm so grateful to them all.

My husband spent several months in respite care then came home but, unfortunately, had several falls and returned to The Boynes for his final weeks. The care and compassion he received from all of the staff made his stay content and relaxed.

I can never forget this care and also, the care shown to me and all of his family.

My father went into the care of The Boynes after some falls at home, which restricted his mobility. He had had a respite stay during the summer and day car after he came home. The care he was given was excellent, it was like visiting a family group when we went in, the staff cared for us as well as my father. He passed away peacefully, happy and loved in a wonderful environment. Thank you all so much.

My grandmother is at The Boynes Care Centre. The staff are all very welcoming and extremely helpful. Nothing is ever too much for them to do and they keep my grandmother in a safe and loving environment. We appreciate all they do, from caring to the daily entertaining. There's a brilliant atmosphere, it's an excellent home.

It was during a spring visit in 2014 when I visited mother at her home in Blackburn, Lancashire I realised that she needed better care than she was receiving from 24-hour carers provided by myself. Her hair was unkempt and her diet was simply rich tea biscuits and coffee. I discussed with her the opportunity of living with myself in Longdon, after a few hours she agreed on condition that she could bring her cat with her. What difference would a third cat make to our collection? We looked after my mother for 3 1/2 year and employed a fully qualified carer, who was extremely good. My wife had suffered from severe arthritis for many years and it became clear that a shoulder replacement was necessary. Weekends were the periods when my wife took over my mothers care. We talked to my mother about her going into a home, as my wife would be unable to cope for much longer, she agreed, and we managed to offer her in a care home nearby. Unfortunately, the care home we chose was not well run and luckily we managed to find a place her in The Boynes. This was so different from the previous care home, and she was immediately mixing with the other residents. This was most unexpected as she preferred to live with us and regularly asked when she was moving back home to us. She was encouraged to mix and participate in the many activities arranged by The Boynes. The management, carers and nursing staff were all excellent. Although my mother mainly lived on meal replacement drinks, the chef always offered her a cooked meal in the hope she would eat some solid food, which she did on occasion. It was not long before my mother became friendly with a male resident, whom she insisted she was going to marry. She no longer kept asking when she was coming home to live with us, and finally admitted she liked living at The Boynes. She had a fantastic 99th birthday before, suddenly, passing away two weeks later, to our surprise and shock. In conclusion, The Boynes management and staff were extremely well trained and could deal with every aspect of caring, from encouraging shy residents to mix, to providing makeovers. I cannot praise The Boynes enough as all residents individual needs were catered for. I would recommend The Boynes to anyone with caring needs.

The care and support provided are good. I was enabled to follow my usual daily routines with dignity and the care and support were person-centred. It was possible for me to go on a trip to the shops and theatre. My only observation would be that the service provided could be enhanced by having at least one extra carers available at key times: Mornings, Lunchtimes and Bedtimes.

My husband as been in the home for three months and seems very happy. He has dementia. He has made some friends both of the other residents and the staff. He has a nice room and the food is very good. All the care workers are very kind and friendly. There are plenty of activities, and they often go out on the bus on visits to garden centres and farms. They also have lunches out.

A lovely home for him, although I know he misses his home with me.

A welcoming home from home with a friendly, caring environment, paying careful attention to the needs of the individual. My ex-husband settled here very quickly and my children and I are really happy he is being so well looked after. Everyone is very welcoming when we visit and we definitely feel part of The Boynes family now!

I volunteer every week for a few hours. Visiting resident, talking to them and making coffee or helping with the organised activities. Always a happy warm environment. Lots of activities always underway. I usually leave at lunchtime but the food looks lovely.

We moved our mother from a larger well known local care home because we were unhappy with the level of care and communication.

The opposite applies to The Boynes. Cannot fault it so far. Well done.

I am very pleased to be here.
Carers are excellent and friendly. Sometimes when there are staff shortages, which is unfortunate, procedures are slow.
Activities are varied but I cannot take advantage as I am waiting for a wheelchair.

I am concerned that aids such as a sling and cradle for my foot take a long time coming.

I have really enjoyed my week here at The Boynes. Christmas Day was good, we had a laugh and had a delicious lunch. I went out on a pub lunch during my stay and really enjoyed it, lovely company and well organised. The carers have been very polite and have looked after me well. I really liked the view of the grounds from my window. Thank you to all of the staff that made my stay very enjoyable.

Nithin MathewJob Title:Home Manager / Registered Nurse

Hi, I am Nithin. I have been working with the Future Care Group for the last 3 years. I started off in the group as a staff nurse at the Boynes Care Centre where I was able to spend quality time with the service users and learn the values of the company.

Later on, as Deputy Manager where I enjoyed learning from the challenges of working together with a highly talented team who provided meaningful, quality care to the service users in the home.

Recently I took the post of the Home Manager and I am looking forward to working with the team to provide the best care possible to our residents. I am passionate about working with our residents and learning more about them as well as creating person-centred care plans which cater to our residents’ individuality.

When I am away from work, I love spending time with my family, listening to music, watching movies and playing badminton.

Adam Millis
Adam MillisJob Title:Deputy Manager / Registered Nurse / Dementia Lead

I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 2001 and have worked in the clinical setting and Managerial/Commissioning roles both here in the UK and abroad.

I have worked for Future Care Group for the past 3 years. I am highly focused on providing the best possible care for residents ensuring they are comfortable and receiving the very best in holistic person-centred care.

I am passionate about my job and have a specific interest in Dementia Care, and what good Dementia Care should look like, it’s about really getting to know residents – the little things can be so important.

In my spare time I enjoy exercising and catching up with friends and family. On a typical day off you will find me either up the local hills with my dog or chilling on the sofa with Netflix.

Lynsey Bozward
Lynsey BozwardJob Title:Administration ManagerJoined: 2022

I have worked as an Administrator for twenty years with the past 8 years focused on the Care sector.

Since joining The Boynes in February 2022, I can honestly say it is an absolute pleasure to come to work every morning and work with such wonderful colleagues, residents and visiting family members. The atmosphere is always very upbeat and everyone is happy. It is an honour to be part of such a welcoming team.

When not at work, I love to spend time with my husband and two small children. As a family, we enjoy climbing mountains, gardening, exploring new places and visiting our relatives.

Lauren Davis
Lauren DavisJob Title:Lifestyle Lead

My interest in working within the care industry began whilst studying Mental Health Practice at Gloucestershire University. During my placement, I ran art workshops for the elderly and people with various disabilities. Being in this environment felt like second nature, and I soon realised that this was the industry I wanted to pursue a career in.

I've worked in the care sector for 6 years, with over 3 years as part of The Boynes team. I progressed from Care Team Leader to the challenging yet rewarding role of Lifestyle Lead. Bringing smiles to the faces of residents and their families is what makes this role so fulfilling.

Outside of work at The Boynes, I enjoy keeping myself busy with arts and crafts, particularly painting. Currently, I am learning how to crochet, though I haven't had much success yet. I also cherish spending time with my two beautiful pugs, Peppa and Daisy, who mean the world to me. My partner and I love taking them wild camping in our van.

Joel Carvalho
Joel CarvalhoJob Title:Head of Maintenance

Maintenance work in a Care Home must involve all departments and because of that, I believe that teamwork is fundamental. Having a good relationship with the team makes it easy to communicate different needs and learn something new every day.

Since my first day at The Boynes, I have tried my best to be of help to the staff and solve problems as soon as possible.

It’s good to work in a company that gives us the tools we need to comply with the legislation and keep the Care Home functioning correctly.

Honestly, the team at The Boynes is amazing, we all have our different personalities but at the end of the day, we feel like we learn from each other. I believe that all this is due to having good management who knows the issues that arise and work by our side every day.

As our shifts can sometimes be difficult and intense, I use my free time relaxing with my family and enjoying my hobbies: fishkeeping and cooking.

Pat Salter
Pat SalterJob Title:Head of Housekeeping
I started my career at the Boynes as MS Specialist Carer and was soon promoted to a Senior Carer.
Since 2017, I have decided to have a change of career to better suit my home-life balance and so have become the Head of Housekeeping. I thoroughly enjoy my job, always make sure I have a smile for every resident and no job that is asked of me is too much trouble. The residents’ needs are always at the heart of every task I undertake.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and family by going out for meals or by dancing the night away.

Claudia Lungu
Claudia LunguJob Title:Head Chef

I started my career in the kitchen in 2019 as a kitchen assistant. I enjoyed what I was doing and loved spending every moment with the head chef. She was a fantastic lady who taught me most of what I know now and believed in me and my future.

Today, I am the head chef and she was right: it is a beautiful job but very demanding. I work very hard but at the same time, I am very happy with what I have achieved so far.

In my free time, I spend time with my son and family. I enjoy gardening, listening to music, and walking across the Malvern Hills.
