From the moment my Mum arrived she was made to feel welcome, so too were all of us who visited. The room was nothing extravagant but was of a decent size with all the important things to make a resident's time comfortable. The staff were simply fantastic. Attentive, chatty (my Mum can chat for ages)
and at the end of their shift would pop their heads around the door to say goodbye - that really impressed Mum and made her feel valued by the staff.
They always treated Mum with care, dignity and respect. The range of weekly activities available to residents is very wide and varied, so there is always something for a resident to look forward to participating in if they want to get involved. All these things, but especially the lovely staff, make Court House somewhere I would have no hesitation in recommending.

Having spent several weeks at Court House the staff were very good to me. They looked after my every need and nothing was too much trouble for them. I was made to feel comfortable, the only comment I would make is that the meals/food some of them were not very good, could have been better. It was a
happy atmosphere there, which was due to the staff making it so.

They took my father into care - when the alternative was hospital. They provided exceptional nursing care and attention when my father was very ill, and nursed him back to health - all within 2 hours notice.

Every single member of staff is incredibly helpful and caring - from the manager, nurses,

through to carers, cleaners and restaurant staff. You know your parents are in safe and caring hands - with whatever level of professional nursing help is needed.

My mother had to come into the home as she has lost the use of her legs. She was 94 and had her 95th birthday in there. The staff were amazing and made a real fuss of her on that day, making her a cake and singing happy birthday to her.
As a family we were so pleased the way they treated her, and
anyone that visited her, nothing was too much trouble. I mean all the staff; from the tea lady, the cleaners, the office staff, and the carers and nurses.
It would have been impossible to have been anywhere else that was so friendly and professional in her final few weeks of her life.

Lovely staff, really lovely place. I had heard bad reviews before my mum went in there but I would recommend it to anyone, it was a great place. Thank you for all your care. Keep up the great work. It nice to know there are places you can put elderly people where they will get cared for.

My stay at the home was an extremely happy one. Having been restricted to a wheelchair because I had broken my ankle I was very reliant on the nursing and care staff. Nothing was too much trouble because I could not "weight bear" I had to be hoisted from place to place. They were very accommodating,
sympathetic and always had a happy smile. They made my stay a very memorable one. Entertainment was laid on for those able to participate and spectators were also a part of it, we all had a good laugh, a great tonic. The only let down was the food; very bland and unappetising all I would say is a lot should be done to improve the situation big time! My thanks to all the staff.

My father, suffering a terminal condition, was very well cared for in his final weeks. His pain was well controlled and the staff were always attentive: they developed a rapport with him, and the senior nurse was extremely professional in keeping us informed in detail about his condition. They helped
all of us through a very difficult situation.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.665)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.665) out of 10 for Court House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.198 for Court House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (80 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (7 Poors x 2) + (13 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 116 Ratings = 4.198
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.467 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Court House Care Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.667
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
