My mother lived here for just under 8 years. She was very happy and viewed staff as her friends. They are kind, professional and the home itself is lovely. I visited almost every day and always felt welcome.
The care my mother received at Herons Park was excellent. They always treated her with great kindness and dignity.
She was treated with dignity and respect. Everyone at this home holds the same values, you treated Mom like she was your own.
When it came time for Mom to rest, you showed myself and my sister the same care and respect which was so important at such an difficult time.
You are all so special we can not thank you enough.
If you are looking for the very best care you can find for your loved one, this is the place. The most excellent care is given at all times, kindness, dignified and all the staff have a very caring way about them, communication was excellent. I could not find fault with this care home, I can recommend Herons Park Nursing Home & Dementia Unit to anyone.
We, as a family were very fortunate to have our mother placed in this lovely nursing home. The care, dignity, compassion and love the staff showed to Mom from day one was second to none. Especially during the last few days of her life, all staff went that extra mile to support us as a family whilst caring for Mum as well. We will all be eternally grateful to them and would have no worry of recommending this nursing home.
From the minute I spoke to the manager I felt reassured Herons Park was the right choice, then after speaking to another lady, I was as happy as you can be when arranging for your mother to go into care. Although she was with them for such a short time, the love and care she received, was 5-stars. Everyone went above and beyond to help Mum; she became herself for a short while, relaxed and laughing every day on the phone. Also, at the end, they were so lovely to me and brother.
My father passed away at the home in April 2020. He had lived there for 3 and a 1/2 years, requiring substantial assistance throughout that time. Whenever my wife and I visited the staff were friendly and helpful. Wary of possible problems with Homes we asked my father how he was getting on. How his carers were, how the food was, whether he was engaging in activities, whether he had any concerns. The simple answer was that he was well looked after. Any (very minor and rare) disagreements with a carer were immediately flagged up by management and dealt with appropriately. I was also contacted whenever there was any need for medication and, finally, after his death. All such contact was professional and caring. My father was fortunate to have found this Home.
The staff have been outstanding. My Gran has had excellent care from all the staff, they have been so kind to my Gran and to all our family. We can't thank them enough, just wish we had her in here sooner.
My dad lived at Herons Park for three and a half years. Throughout that time, he received care of the highest quality. When visiting in the lounge and dining room, I saw nothing but patient, kind and respectful care to all of the residents. Dad was a very dependent resident, and his care was excellent. The food always looked and smelt delicious, and the home is consistently immaculately clean. I cannot praise it highly enough.
Mother was admitted into Herons Park on 8th October 2019, and unfortunately passed away on 4th November 2019. Her 4 weeks residence were, undoubtedly, the highest quality of care which could have been given. All members of staff throughout the differing roles were so considerate, caring and assisting to us as a family also. A very pleasurable experience during a very traumatic time.
A very warm and welcoming home, with a very good and friendly team. Nursing staff and caring staff are very professional and courteous. The only downturn on our point is we couldn't get our mother in this home earlier.
My husbands last 15 weeks of life we unpleasant but, he was lucky in having such kind, caring, professional people to look after him. He was treated with respect and dignity. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff and the quality of nursing was excellent. As a family, we were looked after, considered and also, fed very well! A team of staff to be proud of. Thank you so much for everything you did for us.
Very well done Herons Park.
The home was always extremely clean and well-managed. Both the residents' personal rooms and the communal areas were bright and cheerful. Activities arranged for the residents were varied, residents were happy and the food was good. Especially in the last few weeks before her death, mum received very professional and attentive care, especially from the nursing staff, who were genuinely concerned for her comfort and did their best to make her last days as pleasant as possible.
They had the patience to understand her dementia coupled with the nursing care required for her cancer. The rooms were clean and spacious with very comfortable beds. When an emergency was indicated staff and management descended upon the room within 10-15 seconds - very impressive. Our family were looked after as much as my mother and made the whole end of life process much easier for us. It was very like spending the last moments in my mother's home.
The staff knew when they were needed and when to give the family space and time to be alone with her in her final hours.
The home exudes cleanliness and friendliness. A warm welcome and patient staff ratio looks good on the 2nd floor. Lovely activities staff.
My aunt passed away on February 17th and the care to both my aunt, myself and the family members was second to none. We were all supported physically, emotionally and spiritually. Nothing was too much trouble. We were always satisfied with the care over the last 14 months but during the last 2 weeks, the staff surpassed themselves. They all, including maintenance and cleaning staff as well as carers and nursing staff, catering and admin deserve to be very proud of themselves. This is how care should be.
A very friendly home where you are always welcomed by staff. My dad is very well looked after. Meals are attractive and there is plenty of choice.
He had a good rapport with the staff, he enjoyed the food and he made new friends. We were also impressed with the way that the GP and nursing staff kept changing his treatments in an effort to treat his various health problems and give him as good a quality of life as possible. I know that they were on the ball about calling the GP whenever it was needed and also the paramedics when his health worsened.
Heron's Park has always appeared clean and tidy when we visited. It's purpose built so my father-in-law could get up and ride around the building in his powered wheelchair. I know he was encouraged to get up and socialise each day but not forced to if he didn't feel like it. It really put our minds at rest with us living so far away.
She loved all the staff and they loved her and she was happy and contented from onset to the end of her life. Absolutely outstanding.
