Since I arrived at Red Hill Care Home, I have been very happy here. The staff are attentive and supportive, the food is lovely and varied and although a lot of the activities are not for me, they try very hard to get everyone involved. I cannot fault Red Hill as a care facility and I would happily recommend Red Hill to others.

Red Hill provided good care for my mother for 3 years, good friendly management and staff. Happy with my mother's care, she became as happy as possible away from home.

I feel, having visited other homes, the Red Hill staff are very good and it is very well run with good fundraising. It also keeps you well informed via email and social media etc. I would recommend Red Hill to others.

To all the staff on Topaz ward, as a family we wanted to put together this note to say thank you for everyone's hard work and efforts over the few months my Husband was with you. Although he was no trouble (as many mentioned) towards the end he took up quite a bit of resources and we wanted to send our appreciation for all that you did for him. It was his home for just over three months, and you all made us as a family feel very welcome, and knowing we could visit at any time meant a huge amount. Each and every one of you did your bit to help him and we will always be grateful.

My son has been a resident at Redhill for the past six years. The staff have always been welcoming and friendly and most of all caring and with a good sense of humour. Not only is he cared for by the staff they put DVD's on for him as he is paralysed and chat to him and are like part of the family.

Whenever I visit I am greeted by friendly, helpful members of staff who are also very kind in their treatment of my sister. They have a warm sense of humour and are thoughtful in their dealings with her. It is unfortunate that she is unable to get out of bed, this means obviously that she is unable to enjoy the various activities laid on or to mix with other residents.

Thank you will never be enough! This care home has gone above and beyond to make sure my dad is properly cared for. The manageress is just wonderful; if I need her for anything, she is there to help immediately in person, by phone or by email. The staff treat my dad like he's family. It makes my life easier knowing my dad is loved and cared for. This care home is exactly what my dad needs and deserves. I'm always welcomed by all on visits.

My mom was a resident in Sapphire unit at Redhill care home for 2 years. All of the staff treated her with respect and dignity, and the love and care she received were excellent. The senior staff and nursing staff were professional, understanding and caring, and, together with the activities team ensured we had lots of contact via Facetime in the difficult lockdown times of Covid when we couldn't visit. The team were also very creative in the range of activities provided, which mom enjoyed.
Her carers always had time for a smile and friendly chat, no matter how busy or difficult their days were, and they were a great support to our family. All areas of the home were kept clean and tidy.
It's not easy when someone goes into care, but Redhill staff made it easier for all of us, knowing mom was safe and well looked after. A big thank you to all of them.

The team are a real credit to the Manager and her management team

My mother has dementia and has suffered numerous falls, most recently suffering a fractured hip. The staff show such care and concern that we would always prefer their care than hospital. The facilities are very good; it's the management and staff that elevate this review.

My mother went to stay at Red Hill at the end of March 2022 after losing the ability to walk. From day one, she was happy. The staff made her very welcome, and Mum settled in very quickly. Management and staff are all lovely people showing kindness and consideration to the residents and their families. It is definitely a fantastic place, and I couldn't have found a better place for Mum.

My brother had a very sad end to his life. He had been refused to go home by his wife after being discharged from the hospital. His wife then filed for divorce which affected his mental and physical health. He was placed in Redhill Care Home in November 2020 on Emerald Unit in a very small room by Social Services. My brother had always been a very social person but found himself on a dementia unit and isolated from any social interaction except with the Care staff. Redhill did not meet my brother's mental or social needs. When I asked about counseling for him I was told by management that they did not provide counseling. My brother died on 13th November 2021 in hospital.
I found communication poor (I couldn't find out where my brother was on the day he died). When my sister and I cleared out his room we were alarmed to find biscuit wrappers and cake papers in all his clothes drawers and even in a pair of shoes in the wardrobe (there was no bin in the room).

The Care staff were friendly.

In my opinion, Redhill needs to be managed more professionally. Someone in the office who is aware of the resident's care. When someone enters a care home they are still someone's loved one - family needs information on their health and mental issues and if they have to go into a hospital - where they have gone!

Redhill seems to lack professionalism and also a lot of care.

We moved my uncle into Shaw Red Hill last month in order for him to be close to family. He has suffered from dementia for many years and it has progressed to a very advanced stage as a result of which some of the local nursing homes were unable to accommodate him.
From the moment we walked into Red Hill we felt the care and concern of all the staff who allayed our fears and talked only about what steps they could take to look after my uncle rather than reasons not to.

Since moving in whilst it has not been easy we know he is in the best of hands. As a family and individually we call in to see him regularly and it doesn't matter what time of the day there is always plenty of staff around. They are lovely people.

My mum has been at Shaw Red Hill for nine years but sadly died recently. While she has been at the care home she was treated with dignity and respect. The staff are kind, caring and really get to know the residents. The home became her second family and I felt safe in the knowledge Mum was being well cared for when I was unable to visit. She enjoyed taking part in the activities with support especially having her hair and nails done weekly.

I was well informed of any changes in Mum's health and was involved with any decisions necessary. I wish to thank all the staff for their dedication in making Mum safe and happy.

Overall we are pleased with the care my father is receiving. They are obviously very fond of him which is shown out by the way they care for him. The senior carer goes out of her way to ensure we have the support for my father as well as him. I would prefer that a carer is always allocated to the lounge so the residents aren't left on their own.

Shaw Red Hill is an amazing family oriented care home. When Dad needed nursing care, I didn't hesitate to move him here. The staff are lovely, care for the residents as they would their own family and are so welcoming. They keep you informed of any changes to your loved one and appointments that are needed. At the entrance to the unit, there is a photo board, showing you what they have been doing, from fireworks, crafts, to the Christmas party which is lovely to see. We were able to decorate Dad's room with his own photos and lights at Christmas, which he loved. Sadly, Dad died at the end of January but the 7 months he spent at Shaw Red Hill were some of the happiest. Thank you for looking after Dad and the support, love and friendship you gave him and us during our time with you.

My son has been at Red Hill for 2 years. It was an emergency placement at the time as his carer was taken ill. He has been given constant guidance and advice on his mobility and medical requirements. Was also given due care and attention after my son had knee replacement. We have been more than happy with the help and service he has received.
