Isle Court is based in a former country house in one of Shrewsbury’s most sought-after postcodes. Thanks to its idyllic rural location it encompasses stunning views that can be enjoyed from all aspects of the home. The additional wing has now transformed the building into an 81 bedroom care home. The gardens are beautifully established and appealing any season of the year.

The home provides residential, dementia, nursing and respite care alongside the recent addition of day care services. The home offers clinical expertise in many areas, including palliative or specialist complex care for those people living with dementia and other conditions. The team of care staff are experienced and compassionate, working alongside all departments within the home to provide a warm, welcoming and friendly environment. The staff undertake regular training, also take part in training programmes provided by local healthcare professionals including mental health teams and the local hospice.

The emotional and social wellbeing of residents is at the top of the homes agenda. Outdoor activities include residents swinging a club in the gardens golf area, investigating whose visiting the bug hotels, bird watching from the hide, being part of the walking club or simply enjoying the views. Indoor activities are many and varied creating smiles and companionship ensuring everyone feels part of the family at Isle Court. The home hosts a number of outside entertainers, local schools and charities, bringing the local community into the home.

Nutritious, high-quality food is an essential part of life, and the home’s dining rooms offer an elegant setting where residents can enjoy fresh, home-cooked meals. Families are always welcome to join and share these moments with their loved ones. I would like to say a big thank you to all your staff that looked after my father-in-law while he was on respite, recovering from covid and keeping us updated and getting him to sing.
Thank you again, from his family.

After two weeks of living in the area, I was faced with finding a nursing home for my dad. The kindness of this nursing home was outstanding. One carer has been an amazing individual to me and my dad. Always attentive and professional. Sadly, Dad was only in just under a week when he passed away, but
the care and dignity he was given was astonishing. I would like to thank all of Isle Court Nursing Home staff for making my experience a pleasure at this very sad time.

Following a short stay in the hospital, my uncle moved into Isle Court. I cannot fault the efforts of all the team at Isle Court to make this difficult transition as smooth as possible. The manager particularly went above and beyond to assist in every conceivable way to support our family.

Very good day to day care. Some of the actual care staff are excellent. Beautiful building and grounds, etc. However very poor communication from senior management during Covid crisis which made for a highly stressful stay during the period. Emails ignored and phone calls only returned under duress.

A lovely care home in serene grounds. Highly trained staff looked after our mother with care and attention at all times. The level of care, food/beverages and comfort is the best I have seen. I would have no hesitation in recommending Isle Court.

My husband and I have had unlimited care and love during our stay at Isle Court Nursing Home.
Very sadly my very dear husband passed away on November 4th 2019. The support and care at this time was unstinted also my three daughter's who were in the home for 48 hours, day and night.
As I write this
on December 18th 2019, I am staying for the following two days to enjoy the Christmas Festivities.
PS, see food, drink, meals could be served hotter, especially lunch.

Both my father and mother have stayed at Isle Court and received the utmost care during their stay. My father received end of life care which I cannot recommend highly enough. Very caring, supportive and compassionate staff who looked after not only my father but my entire family during those very difficult
days. Excellent nursing staff, management, carers and all people associated with the home. Always friendly and ready to help. Lovely meals and a lively social programme for residents. My mum continues to take short breaks at the Isle and thoroughly enjoys her visits.

Isle Court has provided a comfortable room for my mother. It is homely and friendly, which is appreciated, especially when one has to leave their own home environment and go into a care home. The care, kindness and patience shown by all the staff has generally been good overall. Meals are varied, activities
reasonable and the gardens are well kept and lovely to sit out in and enjoy. Following several management changes, a recent new home manager and clinical lead post have I feel, begun to bring stability and enhance the home considerably.

My mother had been here for 10 months. She settled in quickly and any issues she had, were dealt with. She was well cared for, and when she died, we as a family were treated excellently with understanding and respect. Staff always friendly and attentive. Pastoral care is amazing and supportive.

My aunt was wonderfully, lovingly and professionally cared for by all the team at Isle Court from 2011 when she chose to move in and enjoyed the company. She was 93 and finding living alone too hard. She gradually lost her health and mental faculties, dying at Isle Court in 2019 at almost 101. Through
all these stages the staff were loving and fully capable of looking after her. She couldn't have had a happier lasy 8 years.

My relative admitted herself in 2011 when she should no longer live independently. She was then sociable and appreciative and following her admission, she enjoyed a very happy relationship with the staff and other residents. Immediately her general health improved as she responded to the care and routine
in her new surroundings. At that time, she made little demand on staff time and she participated in the life and well being of the home.
Gradually over the years, she was overtaken by profound deafness and forgetfulness and as a family, we were aware that, by the age of around 97, her personality had changed and she had become demanding and emotional. At all times she was treated with patience, kindness and respect. Although living a long way away we were kept informed and we appreciated the professionalism and courtesy which we and she received.

I am 84 and have been looking after my wife at home for eighteen months after she was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia. When looking after her became too difficult for me, she came to Isle Court as a resident, six months ago. She was stimulated by the company of carers and residents. She began to speak
more and joined the activities provided. She planted a hanging basket in the garden club and made a pizza in the cookery session. It has given me pleasure at her situation. We were told when she took up residence that this was her home. She could have all her own pictures on the wall and other personal items she wanted. You don't have visiting hours at home, therefore, visitors are welcome at any time. We are totally satisfied with Isle Court Nursing Home.

Visiting from overseas for a month I have found all the staff at the Isle to be most helpful and accommodating whilst I have been visiting Mum and taking her out. In particular, we were wishing to Skype with her grandson in Australia and the signal to her room was poor. To facilitate this, an aerial
was provided in her room for over a week so we had good calls seeing family and small great-grandsons. Thank you to the delightful and cheery help from The Isle staff.

I would just like to say as someone who was very reluctant to have a member of my family go into a nursing home, how after less than 1 week of my mum residing at Isle Court my opinion has changed dramatically.
Mum seems happy and settled and is treated with dignity, respect, thoughtfulness and care.
The
team of staff not only gave mum a warm welcome but made me and my family feel very welcome also and answered all the the questions I asked (and believe me I had a lot of them) they have really put my mind a rest I can visit at any time of day and it's just lovely .
All the staff are delightful and extremely caring.
Mum has dementia and is on palliative care.
I would like to say very big thank you from myself and family.
May the great work continue you all deserve a giant pat on the back.
I feel very reassured that mum is in the right place at this present time.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.715)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.715) out of 10 for Isle Court Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 51 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 47 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.715 for Isle Court Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (530 Excellents x 5) + (34 Goods x 4) + (10 Satisfactorys x 3) + (9 Poors x 2) + (23 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 606 Ratings = 4.715
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Isle Court Nursing Home is based on 47 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 82 registered maximum number of service users is 16.4, which has been reached with 47 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
