Staff are very good including cleaning staff. Always on hand to answer any questions and look after all resident's needs. Always made them welcome and feel this is the best place for my husband to stay. Kendal is a well-run unit.

My mom is in the Keswick unit. My mother has been there for nearly two years now and presented originally with great confusion and aggression, the staff handled her perfectly.
They didn't drug her quietly or strap her down (as I've seen in other institutions) they simply took the verbal abuse and carefully controlled her more violent episodes, I never saw her with bruises.

The rooms are very basic and small, but the important thing is that she's treated well and is happy now.

Since my dad has been on the Keswick unit, the staff have been very caring and have tried their best to care for him and myself.

When I need to talk with either the manager or a colleague, they are happy to spend time with me.

My mother had complex care needs due to her deteriorating mental capacity and moved into the Loweswater wing at Lakeview Care Home in September.

She passed away in the middle of December but in the short time she was at Lakeview I saw firsthand the patience, care and compassion she received, despite being a difficult customer. I am really grateful to the team for the care she received.

I was invited to and attended the Christmas party at Ullswater at Lakeview. The staff were fabulous throughout. Very welcoming and friendly and it was lovely to see the rapport they had with the residents. They made the meal, which was excellent, a very festive and joyful occasion and were caring and professional throughout. Thank you for inviting me and thank you for all the fabulous work that you do.

Staff seem very caring and considerate. The housekeeping throughout the site is excellent. Like all care homes some residents have some level of dementia and this is wearing on residents who are fully aware, and regularly lose possessions taken by these people. Overall there is often not enough mobility aids like transit chairs to get residents to the dining room, in which case my dad's transit chair gets taken and used by staff moving other residents. Generally the food is to a fairly high standard, although the tea supplied is quite insipid and my father stopped drinking it.

The care given is professional, supportive, friendly and sympathetic.
The patients come to view the staff as friends who try to stimulate them with various activities appropriate to their condition.
The staff take into account patients' individual foibles and needs.
Relatives are continually updated regarding the patients.

Overall, a supportive experience, giving confidence in the care being received.

My father moved to Lakeview care home in May 2024. He's settled really well and the staff made us all feel welcomed.
The home is bright and clean, and every effort has been made to make it feel like a home away from home. There are activities, such as gardening and crafts, and the food is amazing too!

Staff work incredibly hard to ensure that Dad is happy, safe and treated with dignity. That's all you could ever want.

As a family we are very happy with the care our mum receives at Lakeview. The staff are very caring and they get to know the residents well. They are also friendly and supportive to our dad who visits daily.

The unit manager is always very responsive to emails regarding any concerns or queries we have. We feel reassured when we leave her, as we know she is safe.

It's a very difficult and worrying time when a family member has to go into care, what will the level of care be like? How will the staff treat them? Will they be looked after properly? Fortunately there was no need to worry. The level of care is excellent. The staff are caring, kind, thoughtful and professional. They remember my dad's likes and dislikes. He is definitely looked after properly. They are a great team.

I cannot thank the staff on Keswick enough, since my husband was admitted to the unit the staff have treated him with nothing but love and care. They go above and beyond for all the residents. I can now sleep at night knowing he is well looked after and in good hands. He looks so well, he always looks clean and tidy. The girls do such a good job with him, the food is great and the activities they offer are good too. I hope this is now his forever home, I wouldn't change it.

Mum came for her third visit for respite.
Staff have now got to know her better and whilst she has fairly complex needs they looked after her well. When I leave her at Lakeside I feel she is in safe hands and I worry less the more times she visits on respite. Accommodation and food are very good and the staff are always upbeat and positive. They respond very quickly to queries/requests when visiting.

On the organisation/administrative side I feel this is very good with strong understanding and responses.

I have nothing but respect for all staff on Kendal where my husband is a resident. They are kind, jolly and generous with their time. My husband is shown kindness and given excellent care and attention and treated with respect and dignity. They pay him attention when he speaks and when he doesn't and always make sure he is happy both physically and mentally. He gets plenty of exercise and entertainment. He is always clean and dry. Kendal is clean and sunny and he has access to beautiful gardens. My husband is happy. The staff are wonderful and I cannot praise them highly enough, nor thank them enough. They are all heroes.

Excellent service from all staff. It was a very pleasant experience to receive a warm friendly greeting on arrival and the help to get Mom settled in. The care for my mom shows that the staff are very well trained and are passionate in their care for the residents, something that can be very challenging at times. In the limited time Mom has been there there is an obvious improvement in Mom's mood, appetite and general wellbeing.

It was not an easy decision to place Mom into a care home but a sudden change in Mom's physical health accelerated her dementia meaning care at home was not an option. She is now receiving the care and attention that she needs.
