I have visited this care home on a number of occasions and only have positive words to say. All of the staff that work across the care home are extremely friendly and knowledgeable and the high level of care for each individual resident is clearly on display. Furthermore, the facilities are modern and the health and safety procedures taken by the care home to attempt to prevent Covid-19 infection have been and continue to be brilliant. I would highly recommend this care home to all.

From the time I have been able to visit my husband, I have found the staff to be very caring and helpful. It was a real help to be able to speak to my hubby on the phone and not feel so isolated from him.

I have visited weekly have been impressed with the care given by all staff especially when the doctor was needed, it was dealt with swiftly and phoning to tell us. The kindness and caring given, efficient medication, has given us as family members relief to know he is in caring hands. Thank you.

Review of care my mum received on Buttermede over the last few years, especially since being in the care of one carer in particular.

Mum's carer has gone beyond the duties of caring for my mum especially during the last few months of Mum's life. She has been consistently happy to allow me and my family to receive video calls so I could see Mum every week since her taking a turn for the worst in April. She has talked to Mum and I know she was very close to her. Thank you, to Mum's carer and the team for making Mum's last few weeks bearable for her and of course for me. I do not know what the care home would do without someone like her and I think she should be recognised as an outstanding member of your team. Please forward all our thanks to Buttermede and the staff on reception .

My mom has been in this home for a few years. I think the staff are all very good. They have all treated my mom as well as they could. I think they have coped really well through this pandemic. We don't have any problems with the home at all.

My mom has been in Lakeview Care Home for three years now and it has been such a relief for me knowing that she is safe. The staff are brilliant and have always gone above and beyond. Throughout Covid-19 the staff have exceeded all expectations. The staff treat my mom like a person not a statistic. I can’t thank them enough for the excellent service they provide day in, day out!

My husband went into Lakeview in January 2020 due to his deteriorating dementia condition. From the time he became a resident it was clear the care, love and understanding at this care home were first class.

We received constant updates about his condition throughout the pandemic, obviously due to not being able to see him.

When he suddenly took a turn for the worst, the staff were incredible and although sadly he did not survive, the dignity in which they managed the situation was outstanding.

Cards, flowers and even contact now has been maintained showing me he wasn't just a resident he was cared for, loved and is now missed.

We will always be grateful.

What a delightful care home Lakeview is. When my mother was sent there, I really didn't know what to expect but I should not have worried, the staff couldn't do enough. Everywhere was spotless and the rooms were nice and light. Needless to say Mum soon settled in.

The professional treatment and care, particularly over the long period of shut-down due to COVID19 can only be commended and in high regard.

The particular carers and senior staff looking after have been great, and at certain times, exemplary.

Firstly, I must state that this review is written against the difficult background of COVID. I do feel that communication from the management team could be improved upon. However, the front line team show my mm and abundance of care each and every hour of each and every day. It has been difficult for my family to hand over the care of the matriarch of our household into the care of a third party. The care that Mom is receiving is above and beyond what we could ever have hoped for. I have nothing but gratitude for each and every one of the front line team.

My husband has been at the Lakeview Care Home since February and he has settled really well. He has dementia and that gives me piece of mind knowing he is being cared for by the caring and friendly staff. We have also been able to FaceTime him most days, which during lockdown, was invaluable to me.

Mom has been at Lakeview since January of this year. Since she has been there, staff have gone out of their way to keep us updated with Mom and nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. They have looked after her really well and can tell from talking to them that they care a lot for Mom. I am so grateful for everything they are doing for Mom and they treat her with dignity and respect. There was an incident involving Mom and the way the staff kept us informed, has been second to none and, even during the visit today reassured us that everything is being done and apologised loads. I am so thankful to each and every one of them and am so happy that Mom is there with people who really care about her. In my eyes, they are all angels and I will never be able to show or tell them how grateful I am for them for looking after someone so precious so compassionately.

My dad has been resident at Lakeview for 2 years now. He settled in straight away and his care has been excellent. The staff are always professional, friendly and caring. Last year was a difficult year for the family not being able to see Dad. Window visits were lovely but not the same and we missed him terribly but the staff kept us informed every step of the way.

My family would like to thank all the team on Kirkby unit for everything they do for Dad.
