After a hospital stay we were advised that our mum required 24 hour care with nursing supervision. After visiting many local care homes this one stood out from the moment we stepped through the door. The atmosphere was upbeat and cheerful, all members of staff were friendly and approachable, nothing was too much trouble. Within a short time of her moving in the staff were attuned to Mum's needs and were quick to respond when unfortunately her health began to decline. The support given to Mum and ourselves during her last days was professional, compassionate and sincere. During such a difficult and emotional time, our experience at Westfield restored our faith in human nature. Thank you.

All of the staff were so thoughtful. They met all of our friend's needs and more and seemed genuinely concerned for her well-being. When she finally passed away, the staff seemed moved by our loss and all came to pay their respects and to offer their condolences. They helped and supported us through a very difficult time and were so thoughtful and considerate.
I am so glad that our friend spent her last few days at Westfield Lodge and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who needs to find a caring home from home for their relatives. Well done Westfield Lodge. A job very well done and one that we will forever be grateful for.

In the few days our mum was in Westfield Lodge she was encouraged to participate and engage with staff and other patients. She had her hair done and the staff soon got to know our mum's ways. We cannot thank the manager and the team for making our mum's last days happy and comfortable for our mum and for us they provided support, knowledge and empathy. We are forever grateful.

The environment is cheerful, the rooms bright and welcoming and the new improvements to update the home are good. Dad was encouraged to join with the other residents in the lounge and dining room for meals and we felt the staff did their utmost to make him comfortable.
It was a stressful time for family and during visits all of the staff were caring kind and considerate and nothing was too much trouble. We would like to pass on our heartfelt thanks to all of the staff.

My father in law became a resident last year after hospital and being in another home temporary on assessment. We were all made to feel so welcome by all the staff and felt so happy and confident that my father in law was going to be looked after and this left, us as a family, so happy and the staff from the cook's, carers, nurses and manager, couldn't be more helpful. They looked after all my father in law needs and the food was just so amazing, he put weight on and enjoyed every meal, nothing was too much trouble. The staff not only looked after him but went the extra mile, he only had to ask and they would help. We really do appreciate everything they did for my father in law especially near the end, the staff couldn't have done more and I would recommend this care home to anyone. I know we couldn't fault anything and that means so much when someone you love is being looked after so well.

All the care in this home was excellent. All the staff from the bottom including all workers, medical staff and administration staff were readily available and helpful whatever time of day. The atmosphere was cheerful and visiting always flexible. Good activities, food, and food supervision being provided according to residents needs. I shall always be grateful for the care given at the most difficult of times.

My nan had been in this care home for a few years and the staff have always been respectful and caring for my nan. My nan passed away in early November 2018 and in the last month or so before she passed she was in palliative care. My nan had Alzheimers, cancer and Parkinsons disease and therefore she had special care requirements. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and I and my mum would often have chats about my nan and how best to help her. We feel like we got to know the staff I really feel like they did everything they could for my nan while she was in their care because she was never going to get any better and she was a very poorly lady. The carer was fantastic, she always kept us informed of my nan's health and asked us what we wanted for her. They are a great team and they care which is very important when you are leaving your loved one in their hands.

Our experience has been positive. Staff are caring and thoughtful. New management team are exemplary, dealing with residents and their visitors to a high standard. Outings are arranged for those that can participate and activities for all on a daily basis taking into consideration their individual needs.

They were always patient with her, taking time to make sure she ate properly. It is difficult watching a loved one go through a long illness, but the staff and care home made it easier as I knew that she was well cared for. I am grateful to staff for taking care of my mum so well and have enjoyed getting to know the friendly carers and nurses at this facility and would like to say a huge thank you for everything they have done.

My wife is being well looked after. The carers are really helpful.
During the last few weeks of her life, the care and compassion shown to her by all the nurses and carers was exemplary. We were also helped by the staff, whether it was just asking if we wanted a cup of tea or talking to us about what was happening and our feelings.

Upon first viewing, we felt a warm and caring environment and were shown around all facilities with an honest appraisal from the manager. She asked us to look past the ‘tired’ decor as the residents' care was her priority and the home was due for a complete refurbishment. (This is underway and looks great).
We chose that mum should go there thinking that time would be very short and she would probably never be able to leave her bed again. But as soon as mum had settled she was enabled to go to sit in the lounge areas by expert use of hoists and chairs. We have no doubt that it enhanced her last few months of life.
All the staff have treated mum and our family with total respect and friendliness and our family cannot recommend here highly enough. Mum has passed away but it is a huge comfort to know that during her last months she was in such a caring place, with wonderful staff.

Her illness meant that she declined rapidly.
The care she received always supported and respected her needs.
We were very confident and trusted the staff.
Management kept us informed and included and the communication was excellent.
We were always included in decision making and in the final days we were provided with food, refreshments and emotional support. Thank you so very much.
All staff were very kind and helpful to visitors and service users.
Within a few weeks, although her dementia remained severe, she began to enjoy life again. The staff were very good and very caring, always giving my mother the time of day and catering to her needs. Westfield on every visit seemed a calm and happy place to be.

My husband went to Westfield Lodge Care Home on the 11th September 2017. I find the home nice and the staff very attentive, I have no regrets with my husband going into Westfield Lodge Care Home.

I recently chose Westfield Lodge Care Home for a home for my mum after viewing several homes.
The deputy manager who showed me around immediately made me feel comfortable and confident that my mum would be well cared for. Although she was only a resident for 6 days before she passed away her care was faultless by all the staff. Everyone we encountered was so caring and friendly. The senior nurse on duty, the evening of her passing was particularly supportive. Although very sad at the loss of my mum I feel very supported that she was a resident.

My wife was admitted to Westfield Lodge for assessment on the 4/1/18 for nursing care. She passed away on 18/1/18. While she was only in Westfield Lodge for a short while, I had nothing but admiration for the staff and management.

Westfield Lodge, no words can express the care and nursing. The nurses, care staff, management, down to cleaners and kitchen staff. The cleanliness, comfort and personal care they showed to my mother-in-law was next to none. I, as a daughter in law, cannot thank them enough for the care they gave her and love on her passing.
