Overall the care and especially most of the staff are very good. They do seem understaffed and the staff are suffering. My main concern with the current climate changes is that there is no air conditioning, and today staff and residents were suffering. With how the future will get extreme weather I would have to consider using a home with air conditioning with resident and staffs safety and well being put first before profit.
Thanks for taking the time to leave your review. We're grateful for your comments about Cherry Trees, and we'll share your kind words with the team. We'd like to reassure you our staffing levels are aligned with residents needs and this is kept under continuous review, however if you'd like to...
I am Eileens sister. I think you are amazing.
Thank you for the kind words I will ensure that I pass them onto the team. Kind regards Debbie
We visited several nursing homes but from the moment we visited Cherry Trees we knew it was 'the one'. The building works very well. The rooms are lovely, bright & spacious, most with lovely outlooks. There are plenty of welcoming areas to sit. The gardens & the central courtyard are a bonus.
Residents are encouraged to make their rooms their own & nothing was too much trouble to do this.
But, the thing that makes Cherry Trees exceptional is the staff. Without exception they are kind, loving & professional. Mum was always treated with respect & kindness & made good friends with many of the staff. We, as her family, were also treated as friends.
At the end her care (and ours) was exemplary. Thank you so much.
Thank you for your kind words - I will pass them onto the team and it was a pleasure to look after your mother. Debbie
My late father received superb care during his year in Cherry Trees. All the staff were deeply professional and clearly had his best interests at heart. He was comfortable and comforted throughout by a really great team who were highly skilled in looking after him especially as his cognitive capacity declined. The Home itself is modern and in a rural setting, rooms are en suite and facilities excellent. Recommended
Thank you for the review and it was an honour to care for you late father at Cherry Trees. I will pass your kind comments on to the team - Debbie
The activities leader, Rachel, is a daily ray of sunshine encouraging residents with varied opportunities out of their rooms, plenty of challenges, fun, sociability & normality. It became a highlight of my day and is an underrated, vitally important part of the day.
Thank you its lovely to hear that the staff are so caring and that the activities are so good. I will pass on your kind words to the team
The design and decor of the building make Cherry Trees seem more like a large home or country hotel than a care facility. From the soft carpet through to the decor, it is homely, relaxing and comforting to both residents and visitors.
Residents rooms are large, airy with tasteful furniture along with great views from the windows. As the rooms are carpeted this reinforces the feeling of home.
However good a building, it is the staff who make Cherry Trees what it is. They aren't so much staff as family. From the cleaner who gives my mom a kiss and tells her that she loves her, to the carer who cracks jokes and banter with her during 'personal care' changes along with giving her hugs when they meet. The nurses with the a task of encouraging my mom to take her
Thank you for your lovely words I will pass them onto the team. Debbie
The room is lovely overlooking well kept gardens. I am delighted that my Mom is there.
Thank you for kind review and we are so happy that you mum remains so well and happy at Cherry Trees. Debbie
Walking in theres a nice atmosphere and warmth The team that look after my mother in law do a fantastic job. Patient, caring and safe in the knowledge she's being well looked after
Thank you for all you do
Thank you for your lovely review and I will ensure that I pass your kind words onto the staff.
Mum sadly has dementia and some days are more challenging than others. The staff always do a great job for mum and importantly some days can be more challenging than others they are also there for me too
I know mum is well cared for and takes a huge weight of me personally
Thankyou for everything you do for us
Thank you so much for your lovely kind review I have passed on your thanks to the whole team. We really do appreciate you taking the time to share your positive feedback. A huge thank you! from all the team at here at Cherry Trees.
I recently visited mum, whilst the home hosted a Christmas Market. It was set up marvelously and was a great idea to give permanent residents an opportunity to experience the atmosphere.
Once again, the Activities Team have excelled in bringing this into the care home, speaking to some of the other relatives and guests, the occasion was appreciated fully by all.
Many thanks to Carly and her team for bringing the Christmas atmosphere to all the residents.
Outstanding!!!
We are so glad that you and your mum loved the Xmas activities and I will pass on your kind words to the team. Debbie
I am a member of Therapy Dogs Nationwide and have been visiting Cherry Trees with my Australian Sheep dog, Fingal, on a weekly basis for some years. I can say that I am consistently impressed by how nice the staff are and with the variety of the daily activities provided for the residents. Fingal and I thoroughly enjoy our visits and are warmly welcomed by staff and residents alike.
Thank you for your review and we all love Fingal as he brings so much joy to our residents and we thoroughly enjoy his visits. Debbie
My wife has been a resident at Cherry Trees for over 3yrs during that time I have had no reasons to complain I have been happy with the care my wife has been given and continues to receive as her condition worsens
Thank you so much for your lovely kind review I have passed on your thanks to the whole team. We really do appreciate you taking the time to share your positive feedback. A huge thank you! from all the team at here at Cherry Trees.
I regularly visit a friend that has called Cherry Trees "home" for the last year. The home is always clean and the staff so friendly. She loves getting involved in the activities and informs me that the food is pretty good too. There are lots of lovely places to sit and chat. Most recently, it was a beautiful sunny day so we sat in the courtyard with tea & cakes. She has made some wonderful friends that come and sit with us from time to time. Everyone is always happy. It feels homely and the staff treat us all like family. Keep up the good work, it is much appreciated.
Thank you for your lovely kind review I will pass on your thanks to the whole team. We really do appreciate you taking the time to share your positive feedback. A huge thank you from the team at Cherry Trees.
I helped an elderly friend and neighbour find the right home a year ago and Cherry Trees has not disappointed. It is an exemplary home - lovely rooms, spotlessly clean, warm and friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble. She has settled well, made friends and is living a happy, risk free life - loved and cared for. Living in her own home became fairly lonely and worrying for her, maintaining her home and her life became just too much effort. Here her days are her own and worry free, every need catered for. She loves it.
Thank you for the kind words about the home and we are so glad that your friend is so happy as we strive to ensure that all our residents have the best time as they are centre to everything we do here at Cherry Trees.
Wow, Cherry Trees really sets a high standard of loving care and fun. I never cease to be impressed by the wide variety of events they lay on for the residents. Add to that the nursing care is excellent. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the wonderful team here, thank you all so much for looking after my lovely Mum so well.
Thank you for your lovely comments it is an absolute pleasure to care for your mum and our priority is always our residents. Debbie
My family and I recently celebrated what would have been my grandad's 80th birthday at Barchester Cherry Trees Care Home where my grandma is a resident. The room we were able to use was perfect, the food the home provided was amazing, it tasted delicious and there was plenty of it for all 15 of us! The staff go above and beyond to accommodate and ensure everything is running as you wish. Our family all commented on how clean the home is and how friendly all of the staff are. We can't thank everyone at the Cherry Trees enough for their help in arranging this and the work they do every day to look after the residents, including my gran! Thank you all.
Thank you for your kind review and I have passed on your thanks to the team. We appreciate you taking the time to share your positive feedback. The team at Cherry Trees will continue to ensure that she is cared for and thank you for allowing us to care for her.
It was great to be encouraged to personalise Mum's room and I think it definitely became her safe space towards the end of her life. I feel we did our best for Mum and that Cherry Trees did the same making her safe and comforted in the last two years of her life.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Cherry Trees as a place to live.
Thank you for your kind review and I have passed on your thanks to the team. It was a privilege to care for your mum and to ensure that the last few years of life were comfortable and enjoyable.
I've just had the best experience of Cherry Trees. My mum has been there for over three years now and is on Memory Lane. Well, they certainly made a memory for me today on their social media page talking about Barchesrter's "values", I smiled at some of the early comments but absolutely cried with laughter at the "bloopers". If anyone has any doubts about a placement here for a loved one, I suggest, if you can, look at this page (11/12 September 2024) because laughter says it all. If you need a quick one-off review of the type of place this is, you'll get it. The residents are cared for, respected, acknowledged and listened to. Quite simply, take a look because they all say it themselves.
We are so glad that you laughed so much and that you enjoyed the post. We love looking after your mum and are so glad that you can see the value in the care we provide.
My husband has improved beyond all expectations since moving into Cherry Trees. We have been very pleased with the care he has received. The staff seem kindly and genuinely caring.
Thank you for your review and for the lovely feedback regarding the home and the care team. It is a pleasure to care for your husband and see him improve so much. Thank you
The manager and her team are great. Mum is so happy and is well looked after.
The home is decorated for Valentine’s Day and looks lovely and is fun for the residents. We are so happy to see Mum safe and cared for but most of all happy!
Four members of staff in particular are super but in fairness, so are the whole team.
I can highly recommend Cherry Trees.
Keep up the good work.
Thank you for your review. We value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. Thank you also for your positive comments regarding our home and team, who work hard to deliver high standards of quality care at all times. I will pass on your feedback to the team.

Meet the Team (8)

Having initially joined Cherry Trees as the Head of Care. After a career in teaching and caring for children, my promotion to General Manager of Cherry Trees Care Home has enriched my passion for ensuring our resident's specific care and nursing needs are met and are the core of the wonderful work the team does here.
Staff training and development is of the utmost importance to me, as a qualified trainer for Barchester Healthcare, I ensure that our team are up-to-date with the latest research, policies and best practices, so that I can enhance the quality of care delivered throughout the home.
I am committed to the delivery of person-centred care and focus on what residents can do, not what they can't. I promote independence and well-being and consider working in this sector to be a privilege, not a job.
I am dedicated to ensuring the delivery of high-quality care by my team and endeavour to create happiness amongst residents at Cherry Trees.
My door is always open if you wish to discuss your care or that of a loved one and I look forward to meeting you soon.

I bring over 20 years of administrative experience, including many years supporting a domiciliary care provider, where I developed a strong understanding of the compassion, organisation, and attention to detail that underpin excellent care. I’m dedicated to keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes so residents, their families, and our staff can focus on what matters most. Whether it’s coordinating information, solving day-to-day challenges, or simply being a steady point of contact, I take pride in creating a calm and reliable foundation for others to thrive. I’m genuinely delighted to be part of the Cherry Trees team and to contribute to the warm, supportive environment we’re known for.

My name is Anish, and I am the Clinical Lead Nurse on Young at Heart. I’m originally from India and moved to England in 2023, bringing with me a wide range of clinical experience from both NHS and private hospitals in India, as well as from my time working in Muscat. These diverse settings have shaped my approach to care, giving me a deep appreciation for compassion, cultural understanding, and high clinical standards.
I am genuinely passionate about nursing and take great pride in my role as Clinical Lead Nurse here at Cherry Trees. Working with our residents on Young at Heart is incredibly rewarding, and I am committed to supporting their wellbeing and providing consistent, person-centred care for many years to come.
The team at Cherry Trees has been wonderfully supportive, and I feel very happy and settled in my role. Being part of such a dedicated and caring environment motivates me every day, and I look forward to continuing to grow with the team and contribute to the exceptional care we provide.

I am the Clinical Lead of the Young at Heart Community. I originally trained and qualified as a nurse in Poland, where I spent 24 years working in hospital settings and developing a strong foundation in clinical practice, patient care, and team leadership. In 2006, I moved to the UK and continued to build my career across a range of clinical nursing roles, gaining valuable experience in different care environments and strengthening my commitment to high-quality care.
I joined Cherry Trees in 2019 as an RGN on nights, and over time, I was proud to progress into the role of Clinical Lead. Supporting the Young at Heart Community is incredibly rewarding, and I am dedicated to ensuring our residents receive compassionate, consistent, and clinically excellent care. Working alongside such a committed and supportive team makes my role even more fulfilling, and I am proud to contribute to the warm, caring environment we strive to maintain every day.

I joined Cherry Trees in March 2023, and from the moment I arrived, I knew I had found somewhere special. I’ve spent my whole career in the care sector, and stepping into the role of Lead Activity Coordinator has truly felt like the perfect fit. I absolutely love what I do. Creating meaningful, joyful experiences for our residents is something I’m deeply passionate about, and I’m always looking for new ways to enrich their lives and make every day feel special.
There is nothing more rewarding than seeing our residents’ faces light up when an idea comes to life; those moments are magical and remind me why I love this work so much. Being part of a team that shares the same dedication and warmth makes it even better. Cherry Trees has become more than just a workplace for me; it genuinely feels like my forever home.

I am the Head of Housekeeping at Cherry Trees, where I oversee both the housekeeping and laundry teams to ensure our home is always clean, comfortable, and welcoming. My background includes many years working in hotels, where I developed exceptionally high standards and a strong eye for detail, skills that I bring into every part of my role here.
I take great pride in going above and beyond to make sure our residents have everything they need, from a spotless environment to the small touches that help them feel truly cared for. Supporting their comfort and well-being is at the heart of what I do, and I’m committed to maintaining a home that residents, families, and staff can feel proud of every day

I have been part of Cherry Trees for over six years, and I truly love working with our residents and the wonderful team around me. My role involves working closely with contractors and supporting the ongoing maintenance and development of our home. Over the years, I’ve gained a wide range of new skills through my time with Barchester, which has helped me grow both personally and professionally and strengthened my ability to keep Cherry Trees running smoothly.
I’m naturally positive, always ready to help others, and I don’t like to stay still for long. I enjoy being busy, getting stuck into new challenges, and bringing a smile to the people around me. Cherry Trees is a place I’m proud to be part of, and I’m committed to contributing to a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained home for everyone who lives and works here.

My name is Ayshat, and I am the Head Chef here at Cherry Trees. My journey began 10 years ago when I joined the team as a Kitchen Assistant. Through hard work, dedication, and a real love for what I do, I’ve been able to grow and progress into the role I’m so proud to hold today.
I trained through Barchester’s Chef Academy, and I’ve been incredibly supported along the way. Guidance and support have helped me develop my skills and confidence in the kitchen.
Creating delicious, nutritious meals for our residents is something I care deeply about, and it means so much to hear how much they enjoy the food. Knowing that my cooking brings comfort, joy, and a sense of home to our residents is the best part of my job.
