My husband has had two much-needed respite breaks at Cherry Trees. He is now going to convert to a permanent residency. His needs are being well met by the warm and welcoming staff in the dementia unit. It took a while for him to settle in, but I am very grateful that with patience and understanding from the nurses and carers, he is now comfortable in his new surroundings and routine. The administrative team have also been particularly helpful in advising me through this emotionally difficult process.

I am so glad that we have chosen Cherry Trees. The setting is great, with beautiful gardens and a welcoming cafe area and courtyard. Its location close to Alcester is useful, as the town has riverside walks, many coffee shops and plentiful parking for accompanied trips out from the care home. Rooms are kept clean and airy, and nursing staff are attentive. Visiting has become a pleasure, knowing that my husband is well looked after.

We put my father into Cherry Trees Care Home a few months ago. First impressions are that it is a very caring care home. The staff are kind, friendly and seem to have built up a good rapport with him in the short time he has been there. He likes the outlook from his room which is very pleasant with planting and views out across the fields. The food is varied and they seem to cater for his needs. We visited him the other day as lunch was being served to him, which was scampi and chips which we noted was not on the menu for that day and which he obviously enjoyed. He has actually said to us that he doesn't think we could have found a better home for him. He has been able to have a few items hanging on the walls from his house and we were able to bring in his electrically operated chair which he finds comfortable and his small hi-fi which he listens to. We all feel that he is in a good place which gives us a deal of comfort and peace of mind.

My mum of 93 moved into Cherry Trees Care Home in January. It was a huge wrench for her to give up her home and the guilt of her having to do this weighed heavily on the family.
The manager at Cherry Trees welcomed us with open arms, as did her skilled and cheerful team. From day one Mum was made to feel welcome. Mum’s pictures were hung on her wall, and we installed a few sentimental pieces of furniture to make her room feel even cosier. Socialising is encouraged and Mum made friends easily. The weekly activities have helped Mum’s mobility and cognitive ability.
The carers and nurses are attentive to Mum's needs and treat her with love and respect. It is evident from the quality of staffing that the manager invests in people and together they take the home to a high standard of care. Everyone counts and everyone cares.

Over the last three months, it is wonderful to see how Mum's life has been enriched. Cherry Trees has given Mum stability, security and quality care.

I would just like to say my mother seems to be very content with the care she gets from the staff at Cherry Trees.

As her son, I feel confident that she is being looked after and getting the care she deserves. If I have any issues regarding my mother's care the staff are always very approachable and have followed up on my request.

The manager and the team at Barchester Cherry Trees Care Home are truly outstanding.
We had to make the hard decision to move Mum into care as she could no longer look after herself. She is 90 and, other than her short-term memory, is well for her age. Not only does Mum love the home and the staff, they love her too. They are also very supportive of us as a family. They really do care for all of us! The food is excellent and the activities are varied and fun. We feel part of a new family and this is very special indeed.
When Mum was 90 they made a cake and brought Mum a beautiful bunch of flowers and decorated her room too. A very thoughtful and special touch.

I cannot recommend Cherry Trees highly enough. Keep up the good work everyone.

Barchester Cherry Trees Care Home provides our mother with the 24-hour care and nursing that can no longer be delivered by the family at home.
She's encouraged to maintain a level of independence that matches her capabilities with a watchful eye on her through the night and day.

That adds up to a feeling that she's in safe hands which is the most important thing of all at this stage of her life.

My grandma was a resident at Cherry Trees. The staff were extremely helpful and supportive during what was a difficult time. My grandma was well cared for. The home was very clean and well organised, and I would like to thank all the staff for their care, attention and dedication, especially through the pandemic where care home staff, in particular, deserve high praise indeed! No request was too much trouble, and the food looked great too! I would highly recommend this care home if you are after a warm, clean and safe home for your family member to be well cared for!

I chose Cherry Trees for my dad as they had previously lovingly cared for Mum. At exceptionally short notice (same day), they accommodated my father, who urgently required 24/7 palliative care/end-of-life support.
Dad's care is/remains exceptional; he is extremely comfortable in Cherry Trees and enjoys his large room with south facing aspect and garden view. The staff constantly involve me in any decision-making relating to Dad's medicines/care, always considering what's best for him to ensure he is comfortable.
The 'Young at Heart' floor is clean, light, bright, airy and modern. The rooms are all large, and the staff are plentiful. Dad enjoys many a happy moment relaxing in the deluxe spa bath with bubbles covering the entire floor!

Whilst I can't name everyone, I do want to personally highlight the main team, who are caring for Dad and supporting me; plus it would be remiss of me not to recognise the daily welcoming, smiling faces of those on reception.

After fighting for over a year to get my mom out of this place, she's so much happier. Cherry Trees need more training to deal with people with dementia, they would rather sedate them than deal with them, they are not honest with you, they tell you what you want to hear and then do the opposite. If you have an LPA for a resident here good luck with getting paperwork from them, I was refused paperwork for the whole 2 years my mom was there. The home is poorly run and the staff back the general manager with lies, the cleanliness of the place needs 100% improvement.
My mom was neglected, her room was disgusting and the smell of faeces as you enter from the lift is disgusting.

I would advise not putting a family member in this care home.

My mum is 88 with Parkinson's, poor eyesight (macular degeneration) and is frail but alert, with a great personality and sense of humour. She went into Barchester Cherry Trees Care Home apprehensively for an initial week's respite stay to give my father (principal carer at home) a break and we are likely to repeat this with further respite breaks before a more permanent move. The carers and nursing staff were excellent (as were the catering and office support staff) and cared so well for my mum throughout but also engaged with her actively and got her involved with relevant activities and chatting with other residents. One of the nurses phoned to let me know she had detected a urine infection but had already called the doctor and arranged for antibiotics for Mum. We couldn't have asked for more and I have no hesitation in recommending Cherry Trees based on our experience - the carers and nurses were fantastic throughout and truly cared and that was reflected in the tailored approach they took.

Cherry Trees is well led by an able manager whose organizing principle is the pursuit of excellence in all CQC standards. A very good staff team, some outstanding, are directed to treat each resident as a V.I.P. entitled to expect the same level of care and support as if they were living in their own home; to deliver, with empathy and respect for dignity, care centred on the needs of each resident. The manager is generous in her praise of staff who demonstrate leadership and consistent best practice care procedures as a matter of instinct. This recognition is important in a setting where family members want to feel confident that their loved one can rely upon outstanding care when suffering the debilitating effects of physical and mental illness. The manager emphasizes this expectation and encourages staff to pursue personal development training to enhance effective care delivery, and further their career possibilities. In turn, staff are well motivated, polite and cheerful.

My mother has been at Cherry Trees for a number of years. Mother has full capacity and did not wish to leave her home but understands that this cannot be the case and so Cherry Trees is the best option. On admission, my mother had a grade 4 pressure sore and with the care and attention of the staff this has now totally healed and her skin remains intact to date. It's not easy to have to make these decisions but the ambience and surroundings give an uplift to myself and those that visit. The interaction of the staff with myself and Mum is dignified, communication at times could have been improved through the lockdown but the team listen to my concerns and a response is always given.

Improvements have been made; may these continue.

My stepmother has now been in residence at the Cherry Trees Alcester for the past four years. I have absolutely no reservations in stating that Mother is always treated with care, respect and dignity. I always find the staff, without exception, cheerful, caring and professional, from the visible 'front of house' nurses and carers to the 'backroom' team of unsung heroes of housekeeping, chefs, admin and estate maintenance, all well led by an able and sympathetic management team.
When issues very occasionally arise, they always receive a prompt response.
Mum is extremely happy at Cherry Trees; she has nil mobility, and is extremely well cared for and enjoys the food immensely.

Finally, I must congratulate the staff on the home environment; the home is clean and airy, and the gardens are beautifully kept, like a five-star hotel, and the many thoughtful activities providing stimulus to the residents are first rate!

My mother-in-law has been a resident here for three and a half years, for the first year and a half with my father-in-law. The service and care given is fantastic. The staff and mamangement clearly care about all their residents and go above and beyond to make sure they all feel like it is their home. The activities that are available everyday are varied, fun and imaginative and you can see from the residents faces that they thoroughly enjoy themselves. My sister has been a resident at Cherry Trees for approximately three years, originally with my brother-in-law before his death a couple of years ago. She has dementia but is settled there and happy. The current staff are excellent, there are regular activities for the residents, and they always seem to be up to some sort of fun. I know my sister takes part and really enjoys herself. She loved her garden and spends time outside; it seems as though nothing is too much trouble when the resident’s welfare is concerned. Thank you, Cherry Trees, for making her life so comfortable.
