All the staff are very welcoming, friendly and approachable; they work hard to create a relaxed environment for the residents and know the residents extremely well. Staff are caring and warm; offering reassurance to residents and naturally using humour to lighten spirits.
Staff were quick to notice
any decline in my mum's health and always seek further advice if needed. The end of life care for my mother was exemplary; great care was taken to make sure Mum was comfortable and staff were especially kind and thoughtful, including supporting family members.
The building itself and rooms are in need of some refurbishment and TLC - a lot of work has been done over the last few years to improve the facilities, but more could be done to make the environment more inviting and homely.
A great deal of effort is made to take residents out into the community and also to provide entertainment and activities on site.
We shall be forever grateful for the care and support provided at Eden Place.

Eden Place is a nice and friendly home, and always appears clean and tidy.
I feel welcomed on each visit, and it has a very homely atmosphere.
My friend is very well cared for, and is extremely happy with his home. He enjoys his day to day activities programme, and high level of support.
The staff
levels of the home are high and provide a high level of care and support.
I feel welcome to discuss anything with the staff.

Eden Place is a very friendly nursing home with approachable and accommodating staff always ready to offer assistance and advice. They cared for and looked my brother extremely well for the last 10 years of his life. He had his own room with television, washing facilities and clothing furniture. He
enjoyed his many days out and was very happy there. After many stays in hospital he looked forward to returning to the place he called home.

We rate most services according to how safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led they are, using four levels:
Outstanding - the service is performing exceptionally well.
Good - the service is performing well and meeting our expectations.
Requires improvement - the service isn't performing as well as it should and we have told the service how it must improve.
Inadequate - the service is performing badly and we've taken enforcement action against the provider of the service.
No rating/under appeal/rating suspended - there are some services which we can't rate, while some might be under appeal from the provider. Suspended ratings are being reviewed by us and will be published soon.
Ticks and crosses
We don't rate every type of service. For services we haven't rated we use ticks and crosses to show whether we've asked them to take further action or taken enforcement action against them.
There's no need for the service to take further action. If this service has not had a CQC inspection since it registered with us, our judgement may be based on our assessment of declarations and evidence supplied by the service.
The service must make improvements.
At least one standard in this area was not being met when we inspected the service and we have taken enforcement action.
