Linden Lodge is an excellent care home, all of the staff are kind, patient and caring and treat the residents with compassion and understanding. They're always very welcoming and you can visit relatives at any time. The home is very clean, the food is lovely and there's always something going on
for the residents to join in with if they want to.
My mum has Dementia and she came to Linden Lodge around 18 months ago after a few months in hospital following a very bad fall. She's done so well since moving to Linden, she couldn't even stand unaided but now she can walk without any assistance and this is all down to the time, patience and encouragement from the carers. I'm very grateful for everything they do, the residents are all very well cared for and I consider my mum to be lucky to live at this excellent care home.

Not for any specific month but constant peace of mind she is in the care homes hands is invaluable. I ve only had to chase things a couple of times in 6 years where my mom has had things wrong with her. For example a rash on her face when they know this is not her normal state and I ve wondered why
it has been left so long or for us to ask it to be sorted. Other than that the staff are great and will always answer questions about concerns. Even willing to hold her phone for face time as she can no longer answer it herself. They do a job I could nt do and should be commended.

My mother has been living at Linden Lodge for over two years now. She is really settled. She sits in the day room every day among her friends and she loves all the activities, bingo , singalongs etc. It gives us great peace of mind as a family to know mum's being well cared for. The staff are all lovely
and treat mum with respect. The cleaners do an amazing job. Mums room is always spotless.

Mom always looks clean and tidy. Mom seems happy with all of the staff. Mom's room is always clean and tidy. She looks forward to the meal times although she only likes a small amount. She enjoys and partakes in the entertainment.
There is one other resident she's not keen on but she always seems happy
and well cared for.

My mother received end of life palliative are at Linden Lodge Nursing Home in the last 6 days of her life. The care mum received and the support given to us as a family was excellent. The nursing home itself had a lovely, comfortable, homely feel to it in beautiful surroundings with plenty of activities
on offer to the residents. I know mum would have loved the social side of life at Linden Lodge, had she been well enough.

Linden Lodge Nursing Home was where my husband stayed for 10 months approx. The care he received was excellent. The carers were very caring, patient, kind, loving, who did their duty and beyond. Showed a lot of compassion and in my opinion, cared as if the patient was their family. I cannot say anything
other than I would register any member of my family and be at peace with their care. The nursing was wonderful.

Husband wasn't keen on the place. He said the night shift was not very good. The place had a strong smell of pee. Some of the carers were idle, doctors and sisters were fab.
Reply from Linda Lowrie, Registered Manager at Linden Lodge Nursing HomeWe are sincerely unhappy that you feel we did not live up to your husband's expectations. These are not the standards we aspire to, and as you can see from the numerous reviews that are published on this site, this has not occurred before. We take this on board and will discuss these comments with staff to ensure that standards are met at all times.

Mum only lived at Linden for 15 days, but very quickly it felt like "home" for her and for us. Staff were caring, friendly, approachable, and above all "human". They got to know mum and her needs astonishingly quick. How comforting and reassuring that was during extremely difficult times. Linden understand
the importance of caring for the whole family. Every member of this team should be congratulated for going above and beyond.

Our mum moved into Linden Lodge in June 2025. It was not an easy decision for us to make but from the day mum moved in we all knew we had made the right decision. Being at Linden Lodge gave mum her dignity back! The care she received from everyone who work there was excellent. She joined in the activities
and was able to have a shower every week which was so important to her as she couldn't do this at home. The nursing staff and carers were so professional + and kind all the time.

My mum was a resident at Linden Lodge Warton for 4 years until she passed away at the home in July 2025. During the time mum lived there she and our family were very happy with everything at this home, especially the staff. They are all a credit to the home, and it is very evident that they care a great
deal for the people in their care. During mums last few days, mum was treated with the greatest of affection and dignity. They were also very supportive towards us (her family).

My Mum has been a resident for 2 1/2 years now.
It was a hard decision to look for a care home for mum. But in Linden Lodge we found a loving, caring home and can't say enough good things about them,
Mum is happy and settled.
She loves all the activities and events and we always feel welcome to
join in. The staff go above and beyond and are amazing, nothing is too much trouble. From the moment you walk in the front door you feel like you're part of one big happy family.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.813)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.813) out of 10 for Linden Lodge Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 56 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 55 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.813 for Linden Lodge Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (538 Excellents x 5) + (97 Goods x 4) + (12 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 647 Ratings = 4.813
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Linden Lodge Nursing Home is based on 55 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 75 registered maximum number of service users is 15, which has been reached with 55 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I started my career at Linden Lodge Nursing Home in 2003 as a kitchen assistant weekend job whilst still at school.

Linden Lodge encouraged me to go to catering college where I trained to be a cook.

During my time at Linden Lodge I have steadily improved my skills and am now Head of Catering for all Linden Care Homes Ltd and am responsible for the standard of catering in all three homes. I have been here for 18 years and I love my job.
