Overall Experience

Mum, resident at Linden Lodge from 2016 until November 2020, felt not only safe and secure at Linden but part of a family, particularly with the staff. During the 2020 confinement, we were unable to visit physically with Mum but Linden's staff arranged Facetime video calls every Friday and continued this routine until the last week of Mum's life. This became a lifeline for me personally, enabling us to maintain contact and for me to see how Mum was getting on. Matron tirelessly circulated daily news keeping us updated with the life, photos and videos at Linden. Mum was a great cook and equally loved the home-cooked food from the Linden kitchen. Mum being very sociable, she thoroughly enjoyed all the fun and activities that became daily routine with the lovely Activity Co-ordinators. We will be forever grateful for the love and care that Matron and her wonderful committed staff provided for Mum and extended to us particularly in her last 48 hours, a time that was precious to me, my brother, and our Mum.

My father was afforded his independence whilst at Linden Lodge, support was available if he needed it.
Covid restrictions limited contact for the majority of 2020, however, the effort made to maintain family contact was good.
End of life care was planned at the appropriate time and my father had a peaceful and dignified passing.

Staff were great and a credit to the care sector.

Linden Lodge is a well-run establishment which provides an excellent care team who make the home feel like a home whilst being very professional in their individual care packages. Delicious food, cooked fresh daily. I felt my mother was in a very safe environment and extremely well cared for. Communication with Linden Lodge was second to none. Can't thank them enough.

Linden Lodge looked after my brother so well. He loved it there, even at the end as his life was going, the staff stayed with him and comforted and cared for him at his end of life. Cannot speak too highly of the staff and everyone at this care home. Fantastic group of people who are dedicated to caring and making everyone as happy as they possibly can.

The care at Linden Lodge is above excellent. The staff go beyond the call of duty and do so many varied activities for the residents to keep them occupied mentally and physically.

Self-funded so, obviously, being charged a lot - but that is the system which needs to be looked at!

I came in mid-January, very tired and had had 2 falls. My husband was in here too with terminal cancer, sadly he died in March. Everybody has been so kind and supportive and I am so much better after all the good food that I am able to go home now.

My husband entered Linden Lodge when I was unable to nurse him at home. He was cared for by Linden Lodge for just over a year. During this time he was treated with dignity, humility, empathy, and humour. As my husband's condition deteriorated I felt totally included and informed of all our choices. A truly 'safe pair of hands'.

I live 200 miles away but each occasion I have visited my mother I am reassured. Along with my family, I visited Linden Lodge before my mother moved in and was impressed with the rooms, building and surroundings. Care is more important though and I have been very happy with the care and attention that my mother has received from Linden Lodge.

My Dad was a resident for 2 years, as a family, we are so grateful for the Kindness, understanding and support from all the staff.
My Dad, was quite a handful when he arrived at Linden but they persevered with him and in time he settled in and I can honestly say I feel he felt at home there.

We will never be able to thank you enough for your support in his last days you looked after him and us as a family and for that, we will be eternally grateful.

My dad was only at Linden Lodge for a few days before he passed away. The nurses and care staff couldn't have been any nicer, they treated us very well with lots of consideration. My dad was always given the most dignity and passed away very peacefully.

My Uncle spent the last eighteen months of his life at Linden Lodge. He settled very well, was very happy and enjoyed watching the many activities that went on around him. His last Christmas he seemed happier than in many years. He was always well cared for and enjoyed the meals provided.

Thank you to all the staff who cared for him and I would have no hesitation in recommending Linden Lodge Nursing Home.

Grandma came to Linden Lodge Nursing Home after several falls at home. She came in for respite whilst her broken leg healed. Once she was better and able to walk again, she was able to go home but she wanted to stay. She said she was well cared for, the staff are lovely and she is very well fed. It was also peace of mind for all the family as they were called out several times during the night when she was at home or found on the floor in the morning having fallen again. Although she likes to watch TV in her room on her own, if she can be encouraged to join in with the many activities that go on, she does enjoy them. She always walks to the dining room for breakfast and lunch but enjoys her tea in her room watching TV.

Every time I visited, I saw my mother slowly deteriorate in health. Everyone at Linden Lodge was trying to help her to be as comfortable as possible and I was given clear information on her routine right to the very end of her life.

It is difficult to express adequately the gratitude which I and my family feel for the love and care shown to my mother at Linden Lodge. The nursing care was exemplary with her condition continually assessed, reassessed and addressed accordingly. She became very fond of all the staff, nurses, carers, cleaners, after the care and kindness shown to her. It was a great burden off our shoulders and a source of enormous comfort to know that she was happy and so well cared for.
