The Firs Care Home with Nursing

Very good.

The care they give my father-in-law is fantastic. They always kept up to date with his care and give lots of information out. The place is always clean and tidy and all the staff are friendly when visiting.

My wife is extremely ill; I'm able to visit due to this. The girls have been amazing during the months that I have been visiting. Beautiful decorations and carers spending time with the individual people staying here. Visiting within the bedrooms due to a case of Covid19 on the premises. When I visit, it is necessary to wear a special gown, new mask and gloves to ensure safety. The nurses are efficient, kind and understanding. The carers are lovely with the patients. I'm limited with the short period of information due to the pressures of Covid19, but the foundations are well thought out and managed.

Every time I visit my Aunty, I receive a warm welcome from the staff. Everywhere is bright and cheerful, music playing in the background and it’s very homely and cosy. Staff and resident interaction is lively, lots of activities and information is displayed and the whole ambience is friendly and happy. Staff are very knowledgeable about my Auntys needs, likes, dislikes and abilities. Security is excellent. The food looks nice and smells good. My dear Aunty is very happy there. Thank you for looking after her.

All the staff were extremely caring for my Mum and showed exceptional kindness to her and my family during her last days. Thank you.

As a daily visitor, I find The Firs a happy place with caring staff who empathise with the residents. I am always treated with kindness and compassion whenever I visit at any time during the day.

My wife has been at The Firs Nursing Home now for 6 months, she could not be in a better place. Professional, yet ultra caring. Always giving individual attention and consideration to visiting family.

I come to The Firs to visit my mother who has been here for several months. This is a friendly, cheerful place for those with nursing needs and I always see the staff giving one to one care to the residents. Al in all, I am happy that mum receives the very best care.

All the residents are looked after and continually monitored. The staff interact with the residents regularly which helps to maintain general alertness in a pleasant situation. Individual needs are met with special care to each and every resident. The home setting is pleasant and quiet with open aspects over a well-maintained garden.

Both my parents are residents of The Firs Nursing Home, they live in a double room. I cannot praise the staff enough, they are all friendly and caring. There is a happy atmosphere in the home and when we visit, we always feel welcome.

My husband has been at The Firs Nursing Home now for four years he is looked after very well. The staff are caring and kind and inform me straight away if he is unwell. I feel that the staff look after me as well as him. The Firs is a nice happy home with all new furnishings and everyone is friendly and kind everyone's dignity is respected. I would highly recommend it.

This is my first experience of a care home but when my mum came here in February she was looked after really well and all the family are made to feel welcome when they visit. The staff are really friendly and are always on hand to meet any of the resident's needs.

There is a lot of interaction with the residents including days out and regular entertainment.

My husband's room is really lovely and homely.

My mother was moved from hospital to the care home because of dementia problems. She was welcomed from the start with smiles and understanding of her needs. Having lived alone for 43 years this was a big adjustment for her but the staff helped her settle. There is always someone willing to smile and offer a cup of tea. As a family this is all new to us so we have been eased in too. To hand your mother over to others is never easy but at The Firs staff understand and help. We trust them.
