My beloved father passed away in November 2021, he had been a resident at the Old Vicarage Care Home for nearly 4 years. During those 4 years, a lot of the staff got to know my father well and they genuinely cared for him. I would like to thank our new manageress for the compassion and respect she gave my father and myself. A big thank you as well to all the staff that cared for him.
The Old Vicarage is impressive and welcoming, the staff are committed and very caring. The activities and social occasions are so interesting and valuable to everyone. The photographs are lovely - to see everyone enjoying the huge range of activities. Well done to all the staff - this is a superb residence.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are always very pleased to hear that you and your mum feel you have been supported from the beginning and that you feel you are receiving a good level of communication from a committed and caring team.
The Old Vicarage is a very professionally run care home, the manager is very attentive and understands the needs of all the residents and will always go above and beyond her duties. The staff are all very friendly and caring and nothing is too much trouble for any of them. They are all very hardworking and are very attentive to the needs of all of the residents. The activity programme is very well organised and always filled with new ideas and there is always something for everyone to engage in. I visit the home regularly and I am always made very welcome and always kept up to date. It's great to see happy residents, knowing also they are in safe hands. Thank you, to all management and staff for making it a lovely place to be for the residents.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are so pleased to hear you are happy with the level of service and communication you receive and that you feel our activities program is varied and inclusive.
Everyone at the home is very caring to my mum. Staff are helpful and kind. The social media is good, which I enjoy following for seeing all the wonderful activities you do with the residents, especially whilst we are not able to visit in person, and it is nice that I have seen my mum in photos. I have regular contact with the home, who keep me updated about Mum.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We really appreciate you taking the time out to share your experience with us.
It is so comfortable.
Care is great.
Mum has so much fun and has made friendships with many other residents.
Thank you to all staff for making my mum smile again!
The Old Vicarage is a lovely home. The staff and new management are happy and friendly. You can see how happy and well looked after the ladies and gentlemen are that live at The Old Vicarage. I really couldn't find a better home.
I felt very at ease thought the pandemic as I new my nan would be being highly looked after. The staff are amazing, and it is a lovely care home. The activities the staff do with the resident are very enjoyable. Very clean inside the home.
Mum was more contented living there than I had seen her for quite some time.
I live in the USA but could rest knowing that Mum had everything she needed and was well looked after. The staff are really friendly and kept me updated through email and phone calls. The home is clean and well maintained, and the homemade food looked good.
Lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere. People are cared for. A variety of lounges to choose from quiet - activities. I personally feel assured that great care is being given so do not worry about any issues.
My godfather was in The Old Vicarage for Respite care just after Christmas and New Year. I went on a couple of occasions to see him as we all did to keep his spirits up but actually he was very happy staying there anyway. The care staff work flat out (could do with an extra a pair of hands at times) to make sure residents get the care they need. It’s a very busy home and I guess the residents can be demanding but the staff seemed to have it in control. The manager seemed friendly and proactive. As a family, we would use The Old Vicarage again if we needed to.
I'm always impressed when I visit my friend's mother with her at this home. It has a lovely feel and the staff seem very friendly. There's always an activity going on and it's spacious. Last time I went they had done separate dining rooms which looked great! My friend's mother seems very happy here. I have known her years so it's nice to see her settled.
A full list of daily activities is drawn up every month and outings are arranged. Food and drinks are plentiful and my father seems content.
Overall the home is a warm and caring place for residents.
My mum is very happy here.
Than you for all you do.
My mother came here for a respite stay. All the staff are lovely and caring. The home is bright and clean and a very warm feel. I go home knowing my mum is safe and well looked after.
Been a regular visitor to The Old Vicarage to see my auntie. Always welcomed with a smile, hello and how are you?. My Auntie has always been treated with the utmost respect and dignity. I cannot fault the care given to my Auntie.
In general, I find the staff quite sociable. Activities are good. Food and beverages are quite good also. Menu is good and varied. Nice setting for a place which helps the atmosphere.
I would recommend anyone to come and stay at the Old Vicarage, it's very welcoming and every one of the staff can't do enough for you. The ladies in the office are absolutely fantastic.
My families three experiences with The Old Vicarage care home has been a satisfying experience. The care and well being of my wife, and the families mother, has been very good. She is always clean and nicely dressed and seems very content in her environment, she enjoys her meals, and although she can't join in, she is happy with what happens around her. We do thank the organisation and the management and staff at The Old Vicarage.
