Great home so friendly and well run. Excellent staff, really brilliant manager who is exceptionally skilled leader, compassionate and approachable.
Rooms are fine but some without en-suite. And very hot this summer.

The staff have been amazing with mum as she has gradually degenerated

This is a fantastic care home.
I regularly talk to people who have moved here from other homes and praise it.

The whole tone is set by the fantastic managers Rebecca who insists on things that matter - H & S, regular DBS checks, awareness of inappropriate touching (staff as well as residents) but enables residents to feel as much at home as possible.

Dad moved to valley lodge from another care home following a stay in hospital. He is so much happier here than in his previous home. The staff are so amazingly proactive and engaged with the residents and there is always something to do. The move has improved not only the quality of his life but mine too as I know he's happy. Thank you

My late wife was in Valley Lodge for 2 years and was very well looked after. My ex wife is now a resident and, as we're still good friends, I go down and see her regularly. It was lovely going back there after my wife died, because everyone remembered me and were very friendly and welcoming. I've been down recently with some music from their era to share with them - performed by a Festival Singers group - of which my late wife and I were members and all the residents were thrilled. I shall be going back to share more songs with them. When you arrive at Valley Lodge, the staff are always welcoming and charming and I feel comfortable that my late wife was well cared for, as is my ex wife now. If I have to go into a care home, Valley Lodge would be my first choice.

When we were looking for a care home for my stepmother a while back, we happened upon the charismatic manager at Valley Lodge and were smitten. Fast forward to now, and my mother became a Valley Lodge resident 3 months ago. We moved her from down south and gave her the choice of 5 local care homes. We took her into Valley Lodge and there we were welcomed with warmth and enthusiasm by familiar smiling faces. My mother was enchanted by the manager, who treated her with respect and sympathy, acknowledging the recent loss of her husband, but also helping her to see the positives in this new chapter of her life. She immediately chose Valley Lodge. The vibe there is cheerful and welcoming. They've done a lot of work to make the place inviting and comfortable. The staff are, without exception, delightful, helpful, upbeat and capable - and they're a real team. My mother was in a vulnerable situation, so the help and support that she has been given through this traumatising period have

Visiting my mum today at Valley Lodge was such a pleasure. She is very happy, content and well looked after. The carers and staff are very kind, thoughtful and supportive. There is a full programme of a variety of activities and my mum recently enjoyed a trip out to the local garden centre. The home is beautifully decorated, very clean and well organised. Thank you.

I want to thank ALL the staff at Valley Lodge for caring for my mum in such a kind and considerate manner.
Mum went into respite care, but decided to stay herself, as she felt that her nursing needs were getting greater.
She has been at Valley Lodge since early August 2025 and we cannot thank the staff enough, who work tirelessly to provide a professional, caring approach to their duties. From a family point of view nothing has been too much trouble, whatever it takes to make mum comfortable, whether its to do with her personal care or what she would like to eat and drink, the staff have a 'can do attitude' often with good humour making us feel very welcome to come and go as we need to be with our mum.

I have recommended and sung the praises of Valley Lodge to my friends, who have been concerned about continuing care for their loved ones.

As my Mother has been in Valley Lodge for eighteen months now, it has become clear that her physical and mental state have deteriorated considerably. Without 24-hour care and supervision, it is obvious that she would not have been able to keep living as long as she has. This is due to the amazing staff that cares for her which cannot be easy under difficult and challenging circumstances. I have a great deal of respect for the staff and there are one or two that are brilliant in what they do.

It took a while for Mum to settle but the staff at Valley Lodge were very supportive and did their best to advise and make things work for her. Her room is comfortable and always kept spotless. Mum is as involved as much as she can be with the activities and is never ignored or excluded.

She is treated with respect and I feel she is cared for really well by the team.

I am Rebecca and am delighted to be the manager of Valley Lodge.

I am a registered nurse and like nothing more than getting stuck into care.

I believe that one of my main roles as a manger is to invest in the staff so that they are confident and competent in their role. By doing this, the staff are then able to deliver outstanding care to our residents.

I also believe that we are here to live every day to the full and so this is the ethos of the home.

When I am not at work I have 3 fabulous daughters and 3 dogs (plus assortment of other animals!) who I love to walk in the local woodland.

Hi, I’m Phoebe! I absolutely love having a good chat and getting to know the families and individuals that give us a ring. My goal is to make the process of finding the right home as easy and reassuring as possible.

This is something close to my heart — I’ve had two of my own family members stay within our group, so I truly understand how important it is to feel confident and comfortable in your choice.

If you call us during the week, chances are you’ll get me on the other end of the phone. I’m always happy to answer any questions you have — and if I don’t know the answer right away, I’ll make it my mission to find out for you. I’ll be here for you every step of the way, making sure you feel supported, listened to, and at ease.
