Your home was recommended by a family member. My father has been with you since August 2024. The care he receives is of a very high standard, the staff are all welcoming and friendly. They deal with all nursing care issues in a professional manner. My father was very reluctant to go into a care setting but he and myself couldn't wish for a better home, which is family run and would recommend this home to any other members of our family if the circumstances arise.

After a very quick change in circumstances with my mum's care, luckily Brookfield Private Nursing Home was able to give the care my mum now needs. From the moment you enter, you immediately feel the warmth from the team. They are professional but most importantly, for me, is the genuine affection they have for the residents. Lovely, spotless surroundings filled with lots of activities, special organised events all done with a smile. My siblings and I feel that, most importantly, our mum is safe, is made comfortable and cared for by a team of familiar faces. There would be no hesitation in recommending Brookfield to anyone that is going through this process for either themselves or a loved one.

My friend moved to Brookfields Private Nursing Home with her husband several years ago and they both had excellent care from day one. After his death, the care and compassion shown to her have been second to none. This care has undoubtedly prolonged her life.
As well as my friend, my mother and uncle also spent time at Brookfields at the end of their lives. I cannot thank all the staff enough for their kindness at what was a difficult time. The nursing care was exemplary and every care was taken to ensure that they were comfortable.

Not only are residents made welcome at Brookfields, so are the families of residents. In my opinion, it is a very special place.

We had to find a nursing home for my dad following his release from hospital and after visiting a few, we were pleased to find Brookfields Private Nursing Home. We've been delighted at the cleanliness of the home and the friendliness of the staff. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they are always happy to help with any queries or requests we have.

I had to find a care home for end-of-life care for my partner. From the moment I spoke to the care home, having tried at least 20 others, I knew it was the right one. The management and staff without exception are wonderful, kind, and caring and nothing is too much trouble. I would highly recommend it to anybody looking for a friendly home where the well-being of the resident is a top priority.

I visited nine other care homes in search of places for both my parents. It was such a relief to walk into the hallway of Brookfields Private Nursing Home and know I had found such a warm, friendly, well-decorated, welcoming place for them both, at last.
'Homely' is our overriding feeling, now my parents have been there for the past month.
The staff are caring and considerate and always friendly.
My parents are now settled and content with their 'new home'. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone; the chef, the handymen, the cleaning staff and the care staff. They all work in a friendly, positive atmosphere.
The staff work hard with activities to keep the residents busy!

The chef is skilled and inventive and my dad particularly is enjoying foods he has not had the pleasure of for years!

I transferred my wife to Brookfields Private Nursing Home in April 2024 because I have family living in Etwall Derbyshire. It has turned out to be the best decision I have made for her care. The management and staff have made us both so welcome and go out of their way to make us feel part of the large family they have created with all of the residents.

From the minute I went into Brookfields I knew it was the place for our mum, fortunately she was only there for just under a week, but the care and compassion by the staff to Mum and myself and sister was outstanding. The staff at Brookfields could not have done more. Thank you for making Mum's last few days so comfortable.

After my elderly mother broke her wrist in March she needed respite care until she was fit to return to her own home. Brookfields offered to provide this care. Before moving in we were concerned as my mother has always been independent, living alone at home for the past 30 years, and we were uncertain as to how she would react to such a change. We need not have worried as the staff team is excellent and this team includes everyone - management, nurses, office staff, cleaners kitchen staff, and handymen all of whom have the care of residents as their priority. There is a really good atmosphere at the Home. The staff respects privacy when preferred but also encourages to involve residents to meet with others for meals in the dining room and be in the lounge for the daily varied activities to join in or watch from a distance with no pressure. Facilities are excellent, the rooms spotlessly clean, and food appetising. The Nursing Care is first class. Thank you, Brookfield.

How fortunate we were to have found Brookfields Private Nursing Home and for them to have a room. From the first call, which was reassuring. All the staff are warm, welcoming, friendly and professional. The home is spotlessly clean, warm with such a calm atmosphere. Although Dad’s stay was only brief, we can’t express our thanks enough to the wonderful care and dignity he received. We are immensely grateful that he was to say goodbye here. Thank you.

Mum was discharged from hospital after 5 months following a stroke. We were apprehensive at first but Mum soon settled in for respite following hospital. The staff are all very compassionate and caring, the food is exceptional and can't do enough to help and make you as comfortable as possible. The staff are the stand-out reason why we chose Brookfields and haven't disappointed at all!

Mum went to Brookfields for respite care after sustaining a fractured shoulder and vertebrae in August 2023. After several months, and with a new diagnosis of vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s, we realised that Mum would be unable to cope at home and she became a permanent resident. Whilst there, her care has been outstanding. The staff and residents welcomed her so warmly from the moment she arrived and also welcomed my sister and me plus all the grandchildren into the Brookfields family.

Very sadly, Mum died in February. The end-of-life care she received was precisely as she would have wanted; surrounded by family and with the expert care of the Brookfields’ nursing staff. The care and dignity given to her was excellent. As a family, we are all immensely grateful to the staff and residents at Brookfields for making Mum’s final months so safe, happy and peaceful.

Review from K A (Sister of Resident) published on 24 January 2024 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My sister has been in Brookfields since April 2023. She was in supported living prior to moving there, however, this was not suitable any more as she needed nursing care. I visited several nursing homes, however, as soon as I entered Brookfields I knew this was the ‘one’. The atmosphere was warm and staff and residents were very welcoming. I endorse the wonderful food and how wonderful the staff are. Although my sister can’t physically join in a lot of the activities, she is always included in them. When mentioning to friends about my sister going into a nursing home they express sympathy, however, I tell them that moving her to Brookfields was one of the best decisions we have ever made as my sister is very happy there. She always has company and is living in a lovely environment and her appetite has improved. Her medical needs are immediately dealt with. We feel so lucky to have found Brookfields.

My husband moved into Brookfields on December 1st after spending almost 14 weeks in hospital after a stroke. Doctors decided he needed end-of-life care and said he needed to go into a nursing home. I was so against this; I wanted him home with me, but they said his medical care needed proper nursing, and I needed to be a wife now. We were so lucky to find Brookfields. He was moved early morning into the home, and I had the most uplifting phone call from them saying "morning", we have just had a very special delivery - not sure what he thinks as we are all dressed as elves! I cannot say how just hearing her happy, positive voice immediately put my heart to rest. The care and love shown from that day has never changed. Christmas was just perfect for us with all the family and just a happy day. He is now not drinking, eating or talking, and I am spending all my time with him, treasuring our time together. Thank you to all the wonderful, caring staff at Brookfields.

The entire team at Brookfields are friendly, caring and ever so accommodating. They are always there to help - no request has ever been any trouble. The thought and care they provide for their residents is truly brilliant. Over the Christmas period, they hosted several parties, created daily activities for the residents and ensured that their guests had all the fun of the festive season. They excel at making the place feel like a home for all visitors; one example is providing a choice of drinks for all visitors on Christmas Day. Thank you to the entire team at Brookfields for everything you have done for my grandad. My family and I are eternally grateful.

My mum was at Brookfields for nearly a year. During that time, all the staff were so warm, friendly and caring, making personal connections with her - it was a real home for my mum, alongside providing excellent nursing input.
There was lots of fun and laughter and many activities to join in with during the week, which helped so much socially.

The environment is a lovely one in beautiful surroundings. Every effort was made to individualise the care and nursing to the specific requirements that were needed.

I received a warm welcome on 10/11/23. The home is very pleasantly furnished and my room was comfortable. The food is excellent. The staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. The only downside is that often one has to wait a long time for staff to attend. I wonder whether Brookfields is understaffed.

I have always wanted to be a nurse for as long as I can remember. I trained in Derby in 1988 at the age of 17 which was the soonest I could train at both the DRI and City Hospital. I qualified in 1991 and went on to work in a local nursing home. Over the 29 years I have worked as a nurse or manager in local homes, I found the best one (Brookfields) in August 2018.
