Mum resided at Brookfields for the last years of her life. She was happy, content and secure. Mum was very fond of the staff who looked after her well. She loved to join in with the activities, and staff always tried to tailor these to her own needs. Flower arranging, making mince pies and many more. At Christmas, the home did afternoon tea for residents and their families. We were treated to a delightful tea and parcels. I would highly recommend Brookfields and would like to thank them again for looking after Mum so well.

My mother needed respite care following a sudden operation in hospital. Brookfields could not have been more accommodating. From the very first phone call asking if they can help and throughout her stay, the whole team were incredible. It was our first experience of a nursing home for Mum, but it couldn't have been better. All the staff were friendly, professional and compassionate as Mum was very unsure this was the right decision for her. Brookfields has a home from home feeling about it. We were all very happy with the care Brookfields gave Mum and would thoroughly recommend. Thank you, to everyone, it was a very positive experience for the whole family, knowing how well Mum was looked after.

Mum went to Brookfields last September 2021 after becoming bedbound, she had dementia and one day forgot how to stand up. Brookfields was so lovely from day one with kind and caring staff. Lovely, everywhere was spotlessly clean and the food was freshly cooked and amazing. Mum loved being given a choice. From day one, Mum was happy, even though she wasn't sure if she was at home or not, she was happy and well looked after. Mum passed away very peacefully with her family by her side. The staff were faultless. I recommend Brookfields highly.

Mum has been a resident since July 2021, when too many falls at her home were becoming dangerous. Before replying to this, I asked her if she was happy at Brookfield. Her reply was that the staff were always nice to her and she liked the food. So I took that as a 'Yes'. I believe she is happy there and that they do their best to take care of her. At the age of 100, she is quite frail and needs help with personal care nowadays. Apart from being very deaf she is still in fairly good health and we are able to take her out for lunch each week - the government's covid rules permitting. The home's covid rules are strict for staff and visitors, which I appreciate and follow. I would have no hesitation in recommending Brookfield.

After a bad fall at home and being hospitalised, my 93-year-old mother has been a full-time resident at Brookfields since September 2021. Brookfields is well managed, always very clean and well kept. We feel confident and happy that she is well looked after and cared for. When visiting, the nursing and care staff are always welcoming, helpful and friendly. They all treat Mum with care and understanding. Being totally independent before her fall, my mum was not happy with her situation at first, but she is now much more settled and enjoys her time at Brookfields as much as she can, getting involved with the many activities provided each week. We feel she could not be in a better place and would not hesitate to recommend Brookfields to anyone looking for full-time care.

Thank you to everybody - you are doing a great job!

My parents moved into Brookfields in August 2020 and initially shared a room. After my mother passed away in early 2021, the team ensured my father was fully involved in choosing a new room and supported his adjustment to life without her during lockdown. He is very settled and we are now enjoying the flexible approach of the team, visiting and going out for the day. I am always greeted with a smile and nothing has been too much trouble. I am happy with the care and attention he receives.

Brookfields have provided my Mum with a comfortable and safe environment. From initial enquiry to admission and thereafter every staff member I have encountered is helpful and caring. Despite a poor appetite Mum can be tempted by the excellent catering provision and though she rarely leaves her room she has regular chatty visits from the staff.

It’s the detail that makes the difference; the Easter treats, the daily sherry but most of all a great team of caring nurses and staff.

My father kept falling at his warden controlled flat so we all agreed, including my father, to look for a care home. After visits to different care homes, Brookfields felt right and it has proved an excellent decision. Dad is so settled and well looked after by all at Brookfields. They all meet him and us with a smile and friendly chat, nurses, cooks and cleaners. He now looks smart, healthy and has lots of interaction with staff and residents which has made his world a little larger. Fabulous place, would highly recommend it.

I have had an involvement with Brookfields Private Nursing Home Ltd for three and a half years, on and off. My mum is happy there and I'm happy with the care she receives.

My husband has been a resident at Brookfields since January 2019. During this time he has received constant excellent care and consideration. The home is a ‘home from home’ and his comforts and needs have been met with patience and kindness. An added bonus is that resident's relatives are treated as members of the Brookfields family. During the pandemic lockdowns, the high standards were maintained with the care staff making sure, they disregarded their own health, that their residents lacked for nothing. Brookfields will always rate as the first choice for a nursing home.

Brookfields Private Nursing Home was recommended by a person whose mother was there.
Management were very helpful in handling my initial query and then in finding my mother a place.
Staff were kind and caring and the chef made real efforts to provide food she liked.
My mother was comfortable and well looked after until she died.

I am pleased to recommend Brookfields to anyone.

When I knew Dad would need nursing care, I realized I would be unable to visit homes due to the pandemic. A friend recommended Brookfields. I took her advice and was so grateful. My first phone conversation with Brookfields was friendly and positive. Dad was quickly transferred from hospital and I was allowed to visit straight away. I was helped to do a covid test by a friendly member of staff - a great relief as I'd never done one before. When I visited Dad the next day he looked so clean and settled and staff came to talk to us (with a coffee and biscuit for me) to find out about his needs and likes. This caring attitude continued throughout the 3 weeks up to his death. If Dad needed care during my visits, he was attended to as soon as possible - always with smiles and cheery conversation. During his last hours, staff cared for him so gently and cared for me too by explaining what was happening and supporting both of us at such a difficult time. Thank you, Brookfields.

My Mum moved into Brookfields at the end of 2019. I hadn't wanted to put her into a home until she was ready to make the decision herself but, at the age of 95, she felt that she could no longer look after herself. I already knew of Brookfields, as my Grandma (Mum's mother) had spent some time there several years ago when she was in her nineties.

As far as I could tell, Mum was very happy there (she died in July 2021) and, from the outside, it certainly seemed that she was well treated and looked after, particularly through the difficult times of the Covid-19 pandemic. There was never any feeling of institutionalism, and all of the staff with whom I interacted were friendly as well as efficient. The fact that, when I visited, the staff knew who I was, and who I'd come to see, showed me just how personal the approach was. I think Brookfields could be summed up as "Large enough to be efficient, but small enough to be homely".

Brookfields is a very friendly home. Whenever I telephone I am always spoken to in a very helpful and friendly way. When I visit I am always made very welcome. My friend is very happy at Brookfields and is extremely well looked after. The staff are well aware of how much she misses her husband with whom she shared a room.

My first visit - and so impressed! My 93-year-old uncle is so happy, well cared for and comfortable (after a lifetime in his own home) that my fears for his welfare, following the death last year of his wife, have been completely dispelled. Our meeting in the pod (more like a comfortable Wendy house than the shed I was expecting!) was such a happy, relaxed occasion. So thank you all, from manager down - or up!

I feel continually reassured that the staff at Brookefields really do care about their residents. Having two family members at the home, I have regular contact with the staff, and all are friendly and professional. The nursing and management staff are always available to speak to no matter what the issue is. The home has really looked after the residents throughout the pandemic and has always put their health and welfare first. No words can cover the gratitude that my family feels towards the home and all the staff who has played an important role to keep my family as safe as possible. The home is warm, welcoming and clean, and has a real homely feel. I can't recommend it highly enough.

The care and compassion shown by every member of the Brookfields team, both nursing, care and non-medical has been fantastic. At every occasion, me and my family felt genuinely and sincerely cared about, as much as our Mum. Truly, after leaving the hospital, Mum could not have been cared for any better, and for that, we thank all the Brookfields team.

My mother has been in Brookfields for a couple of years now, and has settled extremely well and appears to be in the best of health. The staff and food are excellent, and during the last 12-months during Covid, the staff have worked hard to keep Covid out while allowing visits by relatives.

I have always wanted to be a nurse for as long as I can remember. I trained in Derby in 1988 at the age of 17 which was the soonest I could train at both the DRI and City Hospital. I qualified in 1991 and went on to work in a local nursing home. Over the 29 years I have worked as a nurse or manager in local homes, I found the best one (Brookfields) in August 2018.
