The Park care home stands out for its dedicated team, providing residential, nursing, dementia, palliative and respite care, which can be pre-booked. The team enriches residents’ lives daily and warmly welcomes family and friends.

Operated by not-for-profit provider Sanctuary Care, the home features stunning gardens with wheelchair-friendly paths, sensory planting and a vegetable patch for those who enjoy gardening. These spaces are ideal for summer gatherings, and some ground-floor bedrooms offer direct patio access.

Mealtimes are a highlight, with a talented chef preparing delicious, nutritious dishes and home-baked treats for afternoon tea. Alternatives are always available on request.

Residents can relax in welcoming lounges, take part in activities, or visit the hair salon for regular appointments and pampering. Activities include painting, baking, gentle exercise and reading in the library.

Bedrooms are tastefully decorated, and residents are encouraged to bring personal items to create a homely space. The Park is located in a residential area close to shops and a library, with a large car park for convenient visiting.

The Park is the first Sanctuary Care home to achieve Veteran Friendly Framework (VFF) status, supporting the practical, emotional and social needs of the armed forces community living in care homes. Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to understand the level of care and support needed. Our 2025 weekly care fees for residential care start from £1213 and for nursing care £1446, but may be in the region of 30% more*. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.

A couple of the residents are vocal, one of whom is aggressive and abusive and who treats the staff badly.
My husband's room is close to the lounge and I am able to hear what is happening.
On Sunday, I could hear the two residents and I was impressed with the way the member of staff dealt with the
situation, especially the abusive resident. She was calm, steady and dealt with them really well.

Overall very pleased with the care my father is receiving. He appears to be generally content and is certainly in the best place to deal with his condition. The staff are very caring towards him and react to and join in with his sense of humour whilst being sympathetic to his situation. Someone always
keeps in contact with me advising of any mishaps or doctor/hospital visits.

Institutional care practices. Can just about manage basic care but not consistently and certainly not proactive when it comes to requesting GP visits and reviews.
The home is tired and dated and needs a deep clean.
Staff don't wear PPE at meal times, but they do wear their jewellery and watches whilst
providing personal care. Would not recommend this Nursing Home!

My mother had to at short notice to go into a home. I found the home facilities, lounge (main), dining area, bedrooms, bathrooms and smaller seating areas to be well-maintained, clean and easy to access in this purpose-built building. The garden was lovely and provided activities. All the staff were

My brother has been a resident in The Park Residential and Nursing Home for a number of years, I am generally happy with the care that my brother receives. There have been a few occasions when things were not quite right during his residence. There was an incident where one member of staff was not treating
the residents (including my brother) with due care and attention, but that was resolved and the said member of staff was dismissed. There have been other minor hiccups but they have nearly always been resolved.

My nan is new to the home but so far our experience has been very professional, friendly, empathetic and outstanding in an emergency in particular. My nan collapsed on her first evening at the home after an overwhelming day and I was there to witness how the staff took control of the situation within
a matter of minutes. When she came around they monitored her for several hours after we left and gave her the care and love (in a professional manner) that she needed but also gave us peace of mind that she was sage. Thank you!

My mother was moved into this home from Hospital just for a short stay of two weeks. On my first visit I found the staff to be both friendly and polite and this continued throughout her stay. The food was excellent with no problems. If the day comes when she needs to go in a home then I would have no
problem about her staying here.
