I am more than happy to recommend this care home. The quality of care and support to my father is excellent. It gives me comfort to know he is so well cared for.

Magna's activity staff organised an excellent Halloween party. Good decorations, excellent atmosphere with the staff dressing up and a great entertainer sang all the songs that we all know and can join in. Great fun for everyone.

My father is a resident at present and he is well looked after in his health and food and drink is good. (He eats well but if I ask him if he had had breakfast, don't remember toast). Also what he has had for his dinner. The entertainment that they arrange for residents is very good (dad loves a singsong) brings a big smile to his face - others as well - pyjama parties - barbeques all good, we are happy.

Magna home has a really positive attitude towards the care of residents.
From the security (Dementia patients live here) of the building, kitchen and admin areas, residents rooms right through to keeping the "medicine trolley" secure whilst dispensing residents medicines, through to food (food is good, wholesome, with plenty of choices, and handling specialist dietary needs, all well presented).
There is sufficient staff on duty to ensure that the residents are not just observed and helped, but also so that there is time to interact with the residents, and to be proactive and anticipate the needs and wants of the residents.
All of the residents are smartly dressed/turned out, showing that the positive attitude is really embedded in the way that Magna operates.
I find that "my" resident is being cared for far better than I was able to care for them when they previously lived at home on their own with a daily carer and family visits. This is such a relief for me, and so good to see day after day.

The staff also go out of their way to make visitors (that is to make me and those like me) feel very welcome

Review of a special monthly event, in this case, a "Pyjama Party". This was well publicised and was held in the lounge. It was well attended by both residents and their families. There was a singer, who encouraged the residents to sing along. There was also impromptu dancing (sorry if premises isn't licensed for dancing!) with carers and residents, including those with visual impairment and requiring assistance to stand. A karaoke option as well. A really great, fun afternoon. I came in a nightie in honour of the occasion! Afterwards, a sumptuous buffet was laid out.

The most important point to make is people here at Magna. All the people who are here are fantastic. It is good, caring, smiling people who are truly great. What more can be written - nothing, it is the people who matter.

Having been a daily visitor for 5 years I have seen improvements in the general atmosphere of the home. This is mainly because 2 members of staff have left - one of whom didn't possess the tenderness required and the other had a poor attitude.

The current staff are excellent, especially the assistant nurse and activities co-ordinator, who display a shining example of how care should be provided.

This is the first place we, as a family, wanted for him. We then looked at at least five homes. We are so pleased we got this one. He has settled so well. He has a good relationship with all the staff. His eating has improved. We are so thankful he has been made a resident here.

A very happy atmosphere, caring and dedicated to making life as best as possible. I could not have asked for more except perhaps a bigger and brighter room for my husband. They work very hard to entertain and keep a good standard of personal cleanliness, which is not easy when most of the residents are incontinent.

My mother has been in this home for 2 months. It is a nice place and she is well looked after. The meals are good and the staff excellent. The fees are steep compared to similar places. My father has just arrived at Magna 4 weeks ago. He was a daily visitor to my mum, driving himself here each day. Now he is in a sorry state but I know he will be looked after well.

Mum's dementia is very up and down, from good days to very bad days which we realise she cannot help. Mum is always treated with care and respect whatever mood she is in.
When visiting, we are always offered tea/coffee biscuits etc which my 90 year old father loves.

Security in and out is brilliant every time we visit. We feel at ease knowing mum is in caring hands.

Our daughter was admitted to Magna Care Home following a diagnosis of vascular dementia. Both his physical and mental health needs are high. The care he has received has been excellent. He is always treated with dignity and respect.

He is well cared for and all members of staff ensure his ends are met. The home has a warm friendly atmosphere, it's extremely well managed, relatives are made welcome and the food is fantastic.
