Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for the care and compassion shown to my mother during her short time with you. Throughout her stay, it was clear that she was in safe and capable hands. Both the nursing and care staff consistently demonstrated kindness, patience, and professionalism, and
this gave our family great reassurance during what was a difficult period. She always said the staff were very kind and she trusted each and everyone who cared for her on a daily basis. The standard of care provided was of the highest level, and it was evident that genuine respect and dignity were at the heart of everything you do. We are deeply appreciative of the warmth and attentiveness shown not only to my mother, but also to our family. It made a real difference to us all. Please pass on our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in her care.
Reply from Leah Durham, Registered Manager at The Meadows Care HomeDear Heather,
Thank you so much for your thoughtful and heartfelt message. Your kind words truly mean a great deal to us all.
It was a privilege to care for your mother, and we are deeply touched to hear that both she and your family felt supported, reassured, and cared for during her time with us. Knowing that she felt safe, trusted the staff, and experienced kindness and dignity every day is the greatest compliment we could receive.
We understand how difficult this time has been for you and your family, and we are grateful that we were able to provide some comfort and support along the way. Your appreciation will be shared with all of the nursing and care teams, who will be incredibly moved by your words.
On behalf of everyone here, please accept our sincere condolences and thanks for taking the time to write to us. Your message will remain very special to all involved in your mother's care.
With warmest regards,

Leah Durham

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My father was a resident for over 2.5 years and we have nothing but praise for the staff that work here. They are kind and caring and nothing is too much trouble, regularly going above and beyond. My father was receiving nursing care and we found both the nurses and carers to be very attentive and caring.
The management and administration of the home is very professional and activity co-ordinators are enthusiastic and try to offer a wide range of activities and events to suit all needs. The home was always clean and tidy with the lounge areas being recently redecorated. The court yard garden area provides a pleasant outside space for residents to enjoy.
Overall all staff work really hard and create a very welcoming and caring setting for both residents and families.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.1 (8.146) out of 10 for The Meadows Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.4 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.727 for The Meadows Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (16 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 22 Ratings = 4.727
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.419 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Meadows Care Home is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 34 registered maximum number of service users is 6.8. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 6.8 = 0.294
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
