Tixover House provides high quality residential and nursing care for older people, including those with dementia. They are located in Rutland, and the home is easily accessible from Oakham, Stamford, Oundle and Corby. The home is surrounded by 14 acres of beautiful countryside and is an integral part of the rural community, with strong links to surrounding villages.

The warm and inviting residential communities provide the comforts of home with 24-hour support. Predominantly residential, the home provides nursing care, and facilities meaning should your needs change, you can remain in familiar surroundings, with the same standards of care, and staff.

All care is provided by friendly, experienced and well-trained staff, who focus on the individual and support residents in maintaining their own interests and hobbies.

The life enrichment activities coordinators are committed to ensuring that all residents continue to live a full and active lifestyle, facilitating varied and stimulating ways to enjoy their days. From gardening and music, to outings or just a cup of tea and a friendly chat – there’s something for everyone!

First time my husband has had respite care so I was very nervous & upset leaving him. But staff soon put my mind at rest. No restrictions on visiting times so whenever you arrived you could see how happy all were. Nothing hidden.

My mothers experience was considered caring the Demencia head of unit team leader was very observent to all mums personal needs keeping her adjust so her transition ran smoothly. I am very comfortable in the care home. The staff are very caring and the medical care staff look after me well.
Regular entertainment is laid on from outside. Internal entertainment eg. quizzes, bowls and darts are a regular feature.
All efforts are made to make sure we (residents) are well looked
after.

Lovely home. Well laid out for those less able. Variety of sitting areas.
Staff could not be more helpful & proactive in recognising the needs of residents.
Staff very welcoming of visitors. There is also tea/coffee & cakes & fruit available for visitors. You can also join residents for a meal if
booked in advance. Safe gardens available to get fresh air in. All excellent. Spacious rooms.

Very interesting. Very welcoming. Staff excellent. Rooms are all excellent. Clean facilities. Cleanlines couldn't be better. Fruit available for visitors was lovely. Residents seem to enjoy the activities. Security looks excellent. Resident is very happy here and well looked after.

Dad moved here at the end of last year. He was reluctantly agreeing he needed more care, but has now settled in well. His pictures are on the wall of his room, books in place & TV, so he has all he needs.

We are finding Tixover House Care Home an ideal place for my aunt. She is being looked after very well, clean, looking tidy, her room is always looked after, and her laundry done and put away. The staff pop in and ask if she's comfortable and we love that we can make ourselves a cup of tea and help
ourselves to a scone or cake.
The management and staff are all very approachable and helpful. Everything is done with a smile.

Excellent care provided with absolute detail. My mother has dementia and is always unsettled with strangers. However, the professionalism, empathy, experience and understanding of the staff made Mum feel very settled. Not once did they have to contact me for help. Very friendly place located in a beautiful,
rural surrounding. I feel so comfortable that it was almost like an extension of our home.

Barchester Tixover House Care Home feels welcoming from the minute you step through the door. The care and support given to my father is second to none. He is happy, safe, comfortable and all his needs are being met. The staff are very caring and approachable which means a lot. I feel reassured and

The family have found all staff at Barchester Tixover House Care Home to be very polite and very approachable. If there is anything that requires attention in Dad's care, I always receive a a phone call advising me of what's happening.
The facilities for Dad are just what he needs.
I would fully recommend
this particular care home.

My experience at Barchester Tixover House Care Home. I visited my friend, got a warm welcome at the front door. I was given a nice cup of coffee and a piece of cake and the staff were very polite and made me feel welcome. Read the newspaper to my friend and had a lovely afternoon.

We phoned Barchester Tixover House Care Home requesting emergency care for my father. All staff bent over backwards to help given the lateness of the day. It was a difficult decision to put my mother into care... So pleased we did as she is now meeting lots of new friends and joining in activities. All staff are very helpful and caring. The manager is excellent.

Hello. My name is Tony, and I am the Head Chef here at Tixover House. I have a huge passion for food and believe that meal times are a vital part of our residents’ day. It’s something they look forward to and I'm happy to tailor dishes and menus to meet their wishes.


One of the regular favourites is the homemade Devonshire scones served during afternoon Cream Tea, with fresh cream and strawberry jam, alongside finger sandwiches.


I love spending time with our residents and guests of the home, chatting through their likes and dislikes, and nutritional and hydration needs so I can adapt menus to suit everyone.

Hello, my name is Caroline and I am passionate about creating person-centered activities which ultimately enrich our residents' lives. Hello. I am Debbie and I am Head of the Housekeeping Team at Tixover House. I enjoy making everyone's rooms as comfortable as they can be and arranging them as residents like them, with homely and personal touches. The Housekeeping Team is vital in making sure our infection control processes are followed, and we have a programme of deep cleaning to ensure all areas of the home are maintained to high standards. We get to know residents really well.
