I had been looking after my husband for the last 2 years. He had mobility problems and memory loss. Recently he was diagnosed with vascular dementia. He had begun to fall so needed 24-hour care. One morning after a sleepless night I realised I could not cope. My plan was a break for me. The manager at Tixover House came to assess him and he went in that day. The staff were wonderful and always made him smile, even up to his final days.

My husband has been a resident for only one full month but our friends and family all say how much happier and well he looks and behaves. I would not hesitate to pass on these thoughts to anyone needing care. Very pleased with the 'home ' from home.

I'm greeted by name when I visit which is impressive but more importantly, find that my mum is clean, well looked after and her needs are met. I never wanted to have to put my mum in a home - it's heartbreaking but feel I have found the right one.

I am perfectly happy with the care my mother is receiving. Having fallen out of bed, the home has now installed a motion sensor as well as the pressure sensor which seems to have sorted the problem.

My dad has been a resident since Dec 2022, his needs have changed since he moved into Tixover. The management and team have supported us all and explained perfectly the additional care our dad needs. More recently they have been extra supportive and patient which has been a comfort. He's doing well and we know he is cared for and looked after day and night. He continues to be involved in activities and feels part of the Tixover family.

Hello. My name is Tony, and I am the Head Chef here at Tixover House. I have a huge passion for food and believe that meal times are a vital part of our residents’ day. It’s something they look forward to and I'm happy to tailor dishes and menus to meet their wishes.
One of the regular favourites is the homemade Devonshire scones served during afternoon Cream Tea, with fresh cream and strawberry jam, alongside finger sandwiches.
I love spending time with our residents and guests of the home, chatting through their likes and dislikes, and nutritional and hydration needs so I can adapt menus to suit everyone.

Hello, my name is Caroline and I am passionate about creating person-centered activities which ultimately enrich our residents' lives. Through listening and learning what is important to our residents and their likes/dislikes, I can empower residents to continue their hobbies and links in the community which are important to them, as well as learn new hobbies. My main aim is to bring happiness through the doorway daily; spreading smiles, laughter and love - I want to make a difference in the lives of those that we support.

Hello. My name is Tracey and you will find me on the reception desk where I greet visitors to Tixover House and support the General Manager with administration for our home. I joined the team in 2015 and I love working here. I like meeting and greeting family members and other visitors, and being the first point of contact for people seeking care for a loved one. Please ask me anything about the home and let me know how I can help you.

Hello, I am Denise. I joined the activities team in September 2025 as Bank Activities Assistant.
