I could not recommend Altham Court any higher. 1000 stars wouldn't be enough for all the kindness, care, compassion, dignified and professional care shown to my mum during her palliative care. The above was also extended to all of our family.
Altham Court staff are definitely one in a million and I
couldn't be any more thankful or grateful. Nothing was ever too much trouble.

When our terminally ill granny got brought to Altham Court we instantly felt relieved she was in the right place. All the staff went above and beyond to help granny, especially on her final few days. Even to the extent of caring to the family with food, drinks FOC and freeing up spare rooms for us to
rest in.
Thank you so much, you are all truly amazing people.

I cannot express highly enough how grateful I am to the staff and also fellow residents for all the care and compassion shown towards Mum during her time here. The staff went above and beyond duty to make both Mum and the family feel welcome and cared for. It felt so much more like a family than a care
home. Mum's final days of life were spent in such a loving environment.

Our time and experience with Altham Court has been second to none. I realised my husband would not mix or participate in any activities so could not comment in this area.
However, would love to think we could use your facilities again. Thank you.

I find this place "Altham Court" a really lovely, friendly caring place. The staff do their very best for us, all under pressure as really I think that it is understaffed, they work very hard.
The food is good home cooked and presented very well.
The rooms are kept clean and are a pleasant outlook.
Overall, very good.

There are some aspects that I cannot comment on because my friend was only in the home for a period of 5 days. In that time, however, what I witnessed was all good. In that time, all of the staff were accommodating to his needs. A very pleasant home, inside and out.

My mum has been a resident at Altham Court for 7 months.
The care she receives on a daily basis is second to none. Every member of the team are friendly and always speak. She is so settled in her new home and enjoys chats with staff and friends. Nothing is too much trouble, thank you to all the team

My Mum has been a resident at Altham Court for the last 3 months. The home is light and airy and the staff are friendly and welcoming. On staff handovers, there does sometimes seem to be a long wait for residents who have pressed their call button. However, my Mum feels safe and cared for at Altham
Court. The staff treat all residents with care and dignity and the food is excellent.

Probably as a result of staff turnover, during shift changes requests for specific actions are not always carried out. This is a particular concern at the moment as my mother is not able to communicate her wishes. On the whole, the care is good.
Reply from Clare Sheehan, Care Advisor at Altham Court Care HomeThank you for your review. We value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. Dad has settled in very well, considering his determination not to be in a care home. However, Altham Court is amazing, spotless, plenty of activities to entertain, and food is excellent. The staff are also excellent, very caring, thoughtful, nothing too much trouble.

My mum has settled very well into Altham Court.
All the staff are amazing with her and always ensure that she has what she needs especially with foods as she loves her jaffa cakes and crackers, so if not wanting a main meal she is offered her favourites.
The home is beautiful and clean and I am always
made welcome whenever I visit.
Well done to a brilliant team and thank you.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.472)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.472) out of 10 for Altham Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 11 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.697 for Altham Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (87 Excellents x 5) + (33 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 122 Ratings = 4.697
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.775 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Altham Court Care Home is based on 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 = 3.775
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 48 registered maximum number of service users is 9.6, which has been reached with 11 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
