Since my son came into Altham Court in Dec 2019 he has been well cared for kept well. Staff are always nice and friendly and he says he is well looked after. I think they have coped very well during the Covid 19 pandemic.

Given the very unusual circumstance around COVID-19 coinciding with my husband's end of life care, the care, genuine compassion of this staff and kindness showed primarily to my husband but also to me and my family was second to none. My husband's dignity and privacy was maintained. My family were fully
informed and we were given the opportunity to share precious time, Thank you.

Our sister spent about four weeks in Altham Court after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.
I cannot thank the staff enough for their care and support through this very difficult time until her death.
Respect, empathy, support and professionalism were given with an appropriate amount of humour and
caring. Accommodating hordes of visitors and even my sister's beloved dogs visiting. It all made hers and our last few weeks bearable.
Thank you.
PS, bathroom drains need attention, it would make the staffs lives easier!

A wonderful nursing home - Altham Court.
From arrival to my husband 'passing', we were treated with love, dignity and respect. Beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Wonderful meals and all rooms clean.
I would call it a 'smiley' place, all staff happy and treated equally.
Thank you all for making
my husband's final days so lovely.

My mum was admitted here very poorly, as she could no longer be cared for in hospital and couldn't go home as she needed special care for the time she had left. We looked at Altham Court and then she was admitted, a heartbreaking decision but had no fear or hesitation about our mum going there. The
care she was given and care for us as a family was wonderful, all the staff so kind and caring. Thank you. Highly recommended.

Fantastic care home all around. Extremely friendly staff, great variety of food. Nanna didn't get involved in activities but there was always a good selection. The rooms are perfect in every aspect. I would strongly recommend Altham Court to anyone. Thank you for everything you all did for my nanna.
She loved you all!

Cannot fault the care given to our nanna during her stay at Altham Court.
She was always treated with utmost dignity and respect. Nanna couldn't fault the food/drink and said she had never eaten so much! The home was always clean, smelt fresh and we always received a warm welcome from staff. Thank
you.

My father was diagnosed in Sep 19 with a terminal illness, he had never been ill before and for many weeks was still able to live in his sheltered housing with my help. He suddenly deteriorated and agreed he needed to be in a nursing home and lived at Altham Court for his last 2 weeks, disintegrating
rapidly. The staff were marvellous, many went the extra mile, especially the domestic and laundry staff. They were kind and patient with dad and all the family. He died at peace.

My friend and neighbour has been a resident for nearly four years.
Since HC-One have been looking after the care home, the general atmosphere has improved.
The staff are cheerful, chatty and friendly.
There is a warmth and welcome that has permeated through. My friend is happy and content. Everyone
is smiling and appears to be settled.
Many thanks for creating this.

From the clerical staff who keep us all informed of our care etc. to the nursing staff both day and night duty, all the carers, the cleaning staff. The cooks who do us such wonderful meals, the kitchen staff who help. Our laundry staff who look after our clothes and bring them back nicely ironed. I
thank everyone for the good work they do and also the people I haven't mentioned. Many thanks to them all.

From my first visit when I went to view Altham Court on behalf of my mum I found it to be a warm, welcoming and clean environment. Since mum moved in she has been treated with kindness and dignity and staff very friendly and supportive to mum and her family and friends and it gives us peace of mind
knowing that mum is safe and has the best nursing care she deserves 24/7. Thank you, everyone, at Altham Court.

The home always looks clean and welcoming. The staff are friendly and helpful and nothing seems too much trouble. If my mother-in-law needs an appointment at the hospital and we are not able to get due to work commitments and living one and a half hours away, then a member of staff always attends with
her. The food always seems good and we have had lunch with her for a small fee. The activities are interesting and plentiful. There is a lovely garden area to sit in. I fully recommend this home!

My Mum has terminal cancer but is smiling and content being at Altham Court. All the carers I have met are kind and professional. I live in America and can't be there as much as I would like, it's so comforting to feel Mum is safe and in the Great hands of the ladies at Altham Court. Thank you so much.

My Mum came here for End of Life care. I didn't view prior to admission. From the very first phone call, the staff were warm, caring, friendly and professional. The home feels and looks like a top hotel. No sitting in chairs lined against the walls here. Never saw a miserable face. The residents are
treated with respect, you can have as much privacy as you want.
Family are treated just the same, no restrictions, we even took Mum's dog too. My only regret was not being able to get her in there sooner.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.472)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.472) out of 10 for Altham Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 11 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.697 for Altham Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (87 Excellents x 5) + (33 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 122 Ratings = 4.697
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.775 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Altham Court Care Home is based on 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 = 3.775
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 48 registered maximum number of service users is 9.6, which has been reached with 11 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
