My dad couldn't wait to leave this home. He hated it there and became really depressed due to extremely poor standard of food and drink quality and being abruptly awoken every day at 5am to do routine bedding changes to save day staff doing it. Not all it's cracked up to be. My dad left early as he was so fed up. Avoid and don't be taken in by the posh furniture and décor, it's a cover-up for poor standards. Needs major improvements. I would hate to stay there myself and couldn't wait to take my dad back home out of there.

My mum arrived here after living all her life in London. She immediately commented on the welcoming feeling the home gave her. So far, in the 10 days she has been here, the difference it has made to her physical and mental wellbeing has been very noticeable. The rooms and surroundings are very good, which, coupled with the wonderful staff make a stay in such an environment a very positive experience.

My mother moved in Mid November 2018 after a fall at home. She has been treated with dignity at all times and given all the assistance to settle in required.

The standard of the home and staff is fantastic. She could not be in a better place.

I live 150 miles from Ashwood Care Home so can only visit my aunt about every 5 weeks but, because of my first-hand experience of the care and love she receives, I am reassured that this 110-year-old lady is in the best possible hands. When we visit, always unannounced, we are struck by the friendliness and patience of the staff, the dignity shown to all residents and the total absence of any of aromas that can sometimes be associated with care homes. The recent refurbishments have further added to the quality of the dining and lounge experiences as well providing a stimulus to those for whom the past is a familiar reality.

Following my wife's emergency admission I subsequently found the service excellent and staff easy to liaise with.

All carers dedicated, helpful and pleasant. I would hope that if respite or permanent admission required Ashwood Nursing Home would be available.

Uncertain timetable after 2pm - due perhaps to being in a room 'at the end of the line'!

The one serious criticism was the lack of running water.

I was lucky enough to get a room at Ashwood Nursing Home for my mother after a traumatic time in hospital and a severe downturn in her dementia.
Before that she'd been struggling to cope at home despite the best efforts of professional carers visiting twice daily. After a difficult few weeks of her acclimatising to being in a care home (always the case with dementia) I am surprised to say I haven't seen her looking this well and happy for some considerable time.

Her dementia, of course, hasn't improved, but her attitude and temperament have significantly. She is now always clean and tidy when I see her.

I'm sure this is due to the fantastic care she is receiving at Ashwood. The home seems well staffed and they all seem caring, conscientious and friendly. The home is immaculately clean.

From my few week's experience, I would have no hesitation in recommending this home.

Ashwood have taken great care of my mum since she became a resident six years ago. It's the hardest decision ever to place your loved one in residential care but the care my mum receives gives me peace of mind she is being cared for.

It does seem to have a high turn over of staff but I'm guessing this is more to do with the nature of the job. Overall though I would recommend Ashwood to anyone wanting a top quality level of care for a loved one needing residential care.

The staff have all been very friendly and helpful. Ashwood is a good building being open, light and airy. The staff have all shown genuine interest in mum and getting to know her and what she likes. For the short time mum has been in Ashwood I am very impressed with all the staff I have come into contact with.

Mum has been a resident at Ashwood Nursing Home for more than five years. During that time, she has received excellent care. The care staff, although busy, always makes time to see her needs and make her comfortable. The domestic staff and laundry ladies are very friendly and approachable responding quickly to any requests. The home is very clean.

I am confident that mum is in a safe and well cared for environment.

My mother seems to be happy in the care home. The room is basic but she is able to have some of her personal belongings around her.

Staff are friendly and willing to do things without too much trouble.
